Just now watching this. "Too much" is the first thing that comes to mind. If this modlist was a music album, it would be nothing but guitar solos. That guard armor at 5:15 is like the guitar solo, it should be used sparingly, so that it feels special. This goes for nearly everything in the video - the over abundance of Nordic ruins, the town overhauls, the dungeon expansions, etc.
i'll say it just tasteless.

Nothing else should have been expected from this build, the person simply filmed beautiful short videos in the initial locations where there are no crashes and various bugs, in order to sell this picture to you and gain views. At the same time, without conducting more than one stream of his game to show people its stability and performance. As a result, you got this miracle called Ultima.

While playing ultima it felt as if nukt just added a bunch of different things to it to try to disassociate with nolvus as much as possible because of the criticism, but overdid the changes so much so that it made the list worse in the end
Ultima was completely remade from scratch. it no longer uses Nolvus as a base at all anymore. its a brand new list from what his older videos were. its not associated with nolvus at all

@@Leo-mj1mt There's a few fighting for the top spot right not but Nolvus is definitely one of the best lists out there, yeah. If you only play one list, play that, there's SO MUCH it's just insane
The nolvus-fork version of this modlist looked much better, but i can respect the desire to make it 100% your own...
I'd reduce the bloom and fix some of the strange looking dirtcliffs :)

Damn the author pulled that old trailer vs actual game trick but on a Skyrim modlist. I remember my GF being hyped about the teaser videos. But I think if she saw this she wouldn’t want to play it anymore haha. Shes only into graphics and magic. Even I was really impressed by some of the teasers but this felt really different. Not sure if it would be the same with the same items at the same location. But it kinda feels like its a whole another list 😅

Aw I was hoping this was a mod to turn Skyrim into the Ultima game series.
Great video as always biggie if not a little tame! It's a shame this sort of ended up as most people expected, but I am rooting for this modlist like we all should. I always have at least three modlists downloaded (to my SSD's dismay) with multiple playthroughs because they are all unique and worth playing, and have their own personalities. That being said Ultima feels like its trying too hard to separate itself from its custom Nolvus roots, they're some instances where I feel inferior mods were chosen as to not use ones that are present in Nolvus. I also find it sad that there's such a divide between Nolvus and Ultima communities, because for the most part it seems like most curators are amicable with each other and active in other discords. I think the Ultima trailers really brought on a lot of hype and new people and they sort of homered for Ultima and then rightly so, I think many Nolvus users felt Vektor wasn't getting enough credit for all the work he's done with custom patches and creating the base for those early versions of Ultima, also Vektor made a very neat installer! This weird like sports team divide has grown and its sad imo. That being said I think its obvious Nukt has some work to do and hopefully with plenty of help from his community this modlist can find a direction and personality. I love Skyrim and downloading modlists, so I'll definitely be back to Ultima someday. Now I've got to get back to getting spanked in this modlist called LoreRim? Y'all ever heard of it? You should check it out!

Invicta isn't gonna release anytime soon, the author has so many mods that are locked behind paywalls that he would have to remove and hes been working on that list for how many years now. i wouldn't get your hopes up on that one.

This looks so different from his nolvus inspired build. I like a bit of fantasy in my skyrim, but this is too much. Hell even the things nolvus added were a lot to me lmao
It's VEEEERY different from what Nukt advertised through their videos. I was eager to try this modlist, now I'm pretty sure that I won't touch it.

Yeah its unfortunate because this got a lot of “mainstream” attention, at least for a Skyrim modlist. As a result many people are going to have a bad taste in their mouth and misconceptions about modlists in general
It's because the original was just Nolvus with a different ENB and paywalled bs. nukt shot themselves in the foot by rebranding it as their own and then having hype push them to make their own list.

Because the modlist doesnt equal all mods he showed on his videos. he surely used some paywalled mods which cant be integrated in wabbajack. And even if all mods were included, showing videos of modlists and then playing the actual modlist will mostly disappoint u in the first moment cause u always seeing a scene of perfect lightning, perfect environment and maybe with some screenarchery shaders on just to make the video as pretty as possible. Rare thing u will see in a actual playthrough.
He pretty much used paid mods with all those videos and if you pay attention you can notice differences in quality with each video, pretty shitty tactics on his end honestly
pretty sure the mod states that at this time you must have ae edition, as it requires cc content.

The camera is way to close, does this work on se i want to try it however the combat gives me motion sickness. He also could’ve installed wait your turn for a better combat experience

really not as bad as a lot of the haters wanted it to be, im glad fun skyrim modlists are still releasing and i feel this is a step forward in skyrim modding. i also have a question, how different is this from nolvus? or are they extremely similar
Nolvus has more content, better FPS, more weapons and armors, LOTD, etc. Ultima has SR Exteriors (although Nolvus will have that in V6) and different visuals and animations. Ultima is also very much leaning towards the not-lore-friendly side of things with more stuff from other universes.
It’s really each their own, with these lists.

I have to say that this modlist looks too busy. It seems to put things everywhere, no location is allowed to be simple. Bridges cannot be simple stone, the must be fancy covered things with moss everywhere. Roads cannot be simple stone and grass, they must have stone towers and archways everywhere. Cities cannot just be buildings and a wall, there must be pipes and trees and fancy gateways everywhere. Not surprising at all to see FPS issues - the author seems to have some things to learn about restraint. Sometimes areas are more beautiful and aesthetic when they are simple.
It's a bit funny though, aside from my 2070 I haven't upgraded my PC since I built it in 2016 and I never thought Skyrim would be the game to force an upgrade. But more of these intensive modlists are releasing so it may have to happen. Seems like all these graphical modlists also include MCO, now my brain is associating MCO with modlists that I can't play due to hardware.
ElmoRim is MCO and can run on almost anything. Zediious Sprinkles and Char Grinn you can also prob run. MAYBE LoreRim too.
I have a 3070 and it’s not super playable. But people who have 4070supers and run DLSS can play it at 60fps just fine with some dips. You really just need the vram (something we both don’t have with 8gb lol) and upscaler
That said, I don’t think the design is the problem, nor do I think it needs to be changed. He just needs to optimize it where he can.
Nukt was very open from the get go that it was minimum to be ran on a 4070 super with DLSS with the highest realistic resolution being 1440p.
I already have my personal modlist, but still struggle with visuals. Was hyped for this. Does anyone know any modlist that could be used as a visualonly/graphical template to rebuild my modlist?

There is no best though for real. I made LoreRim as well polished as possible but some people hate Requiem because they get clapped at lvl 1 by bandits. Yet my own list is more enjoyable to me than any other out there. So best makes no sense because everybody has their own taste.
I think it makes sense that people would incorporate Dwemer technology into their daily lives considering that you have people in Skyrim who do nothing but study it and it helps give a feeling that time is advancing in the Elder Scrolls universe. Often times in fantasy settings they would have some advanced civilization that existed 100 to 1000 years ago but then the modern day for them would look like they made no progress after 1000+ years.
You gotta remember Skyrim actually takes place during the Elder Scrolls equivalent of the Dark Ages. Compared to Oblivion 200 years prior, the world is a lot more worn down, abandoned, depopulated, etc. Between the Oblivion Crisis, the Great War and the Skyrim Civil War, learning and architecture have gone to waste for the most part.

Stable lists which are controller compatible should be Eldryn and Nordic Souls. Librum should also be fine most of the time. I think…

The Nolvus fork had non-distributable mods in it that were made by Vektor. If you want the Nolvus fork, just add Northern Roads to Nolvus and slap on some paid ReShade shaders

Plenty of them yea. ElmoRim recently got updated on its Discord server. Nordic Souls is great. Tempus Maledictum if you want tons of quest mods.
I use a 1660 super(2g vram less than Nolvus minimum requirements) and Ryzen 5 3600 32 g ram and get 60 fps outside STEADY.with Nolvus on lower settings. Tested this for over 20 hrs. Ofc there are lists but modding knowledge is key. What settings to change/edit etc.

This list has potential to be the best if it improves upon stability and reduce useless fps killers. I have a 4070 not sure if i can run this on 2k dlss. I like the 50-120 fps in novlus whether outside or inside. Will keep my eyes on any updates though glad to see its out.
There's no best list. I think the list needs direction personally, but maybe that's just my own preference. Right now it doesn't have cohesion both visually and gameplay-wise. If the intended goal is to make everything look not like Skyrim, I think it should go all-out and nothing vanilla should be left.
On a 4070 super target was 1440p 60fps with DLSS. You can get away with a 4070 and a slight drop in frames.
I have a 3070 and it straight up is horrible even in 1080p. You really need the extra vram. Inside buildings I can get 60-80. The moment i step outside it drops to 25. Then near white run it literally drops to 4 lol.
There are no BSAs at the moment. Not a ton of optimization so if you don’t have the minimum amount of vram to keep the assets loaded it’s horrible lol.
You should be fine tho. Without the super you might have to drop to 1080p with DLSS
BSAs have nothing to do with FPS and there is even some evidence that they can make FPS worse. The only thing BSAs are good for is reducing load time which is irrelevant for anybody using a decent SSD. LoreRim has almost nothing BSAed and runs great on most PCs. It's mostly down to SR Exteriors being an FPS hog. IMO that mod has to go for there to be any substantial improvement in FPS. A lot of objects are still vanilla textures/meshes so that's going to drain FPS even more.

@@biggie_boss true everyone has their own wants. I mean best for me since all i want is some crazy fantasy just too much is missing from current ultima.
I was very excited for it but the current version was not exactly my cup of tea. At times visually it looked really good but that was just about it. It was buggy, took too long to launch and too long loading screens, doesn't really run that well. Animations were really good but quite buggy, especially jumping and running it's just you keep getting stuck in weird states. Crashes also another thing. And while the gameplay was okay, it's a bit too power fantasy for my taste too and finally UI/Controls/Camera, all 3 unfortunately are fully designed for controller, that's a minus in my book. IMO, it needs another 6 months, maybe more. It feels like Ultima 0.7.8 rather than release ready 1.0.
A lot of the mods added aren't compatible with one another. Like jump attacks aren't compatible with MCO and hence why it bugs out.
Personally, if a modlist does not have the AE content, I am not considering it - I love most of the AE content. I also play modlist that are simple, this one looks too stuffed. In some cases less is more.
The animations and characters look very much like an Asian MMO, thats not to say thats bad or negative its just one style of game, but to me im not sure if it fits in with the skyrim game world.

This was a modlist people kept hyping up, saying things like "look at what skyrim has become in 2024", and then the list releases and is just average at best.
I don't understand the hype about this list. 1300 mods, no AE support, runs like an ass, Windhelm looks ridiculous. I paid for AA, might as well use it. Just install LoreRim which has more interesting stuff and utilizes AE, lol.

this one definitely has alot to be desired, but alot of the stuff he had on the 1st list doesnt even make a apperance this list, im hoping since its just 1.0 updates are to come
Unfortunately a lot of the stuff you saw in the first hype video was paywalled stuff. Paywalled ReShades, animations, hair, armor, etc. So that stuff will never be behind a Wabbajack modlist, you'd have to add it yourself. The thing is, it isn't like Wabbajack modlist authors are holding out. If that stuff was publicly available it would be in Vagabond, Nolvus, Wunduniik, etc.

Its a bit frustrating that more and more modlists go this dark souls route. Obviously not every game with dodging and rolling around is Dark Souls but most of the times its pretty clear what was the motivation. And even if another game was inspiration it doesnt really change the problem in the end of the day. The dark souls combat system was okay in dark souls. The game was about that. Felt mid but was still okay. But Skyrim isnt Dark Souls. It feels chunky as hell, unoriginal and just not fleshed out. After all its only modded content. And you can feel that. In every strike.
Honestly most lists dont use MCO. Out of 50+ wabbajack lists maybe 10 use mco
@@biggie_boss Possible. Wont pretend I got expertise on how many modlist use mods xy. But atleast from the big ones most that I play do either use it. Or dont use it but still got this style of fighting. I remember this also was a thing alr before modlists or MCO were even a thing. This whole obsession with DS combat system in Skyrim goes back to Skyrim LE
This list looks ridiculous, best to stick with Nolvus
pretty unfortunate that the world look that fibrant and colorful, the combat looks great but idk about making the game looks like a basic mmo. There are soooo many mods to make the grass, plants and environment pretty damn cool with contrast, different biomes but here it looks... meh, green everywhere
First of all, I don't understand why people like nolvus. There is so much crap going on and way too many mods. I don't understand how someone can realistically play that and have fun, lol. As for visuals, I don't know. I guess they both look good, but that'ssubjective. As for AE support, who tf cares 😂 That stuff is not even good. Who is crying about creation club content. As for the paywalled mods, they're just animations, which isn't a big deal, and if he put them in there, he would essentially be stealing them. The bugs are annoying, and yes, people should have definitely playtested it more. Overall, though, if you want diabetes you can play nolvus, but if you want just a vanilla esc experience, then this is just strictly better than any other modlist in my opinion
This is by far further from vanilla than Nolvus is. I mean theres random dark souls bosses placed everywhere and the cities are wildly different from TES. There's guns and stuff. I'm not saying one is better but this is def more "out there" objectively
@biggie_boss Eh, yeah, I guess that's fair. To be honest with you, I just really didn't like nolvus, so my opinion may be biased. I guess I'm just tired of seeing the same stuff in modlist that I'm not opposed and/or aware to the more out there things. As for what I meant by vanilla esc. I can't really describe it, but I think it's just the amount of "bloat" that nolvus and a lot of other modlist have that just annoys me and takes away from the fun. Not that I have anything against the modlist creator, is their work after all, but I just prefer something that changes stuff yes but doesn't contain 1000 mods I could care less about if that makes sense. I've also found it to be very easy removing and adding things to Ultima, which is definitely uncommon with most modlist. Couple that with the visual fidelity, and I feel like I'm actually really enjoying a modlist again instead of just deleting it after 2 hours of playing it lol. As for the cities, I don't really agree that they're much different. Yes, they are open, and yes, they look different, but at the end of the day, it really doesn't take away from the vanilla aspect, at least for me. I'm trying to be more clear with my thoughts so hopefully that makes sense.
Wabbajack has over 50 modlists. Have you tried others? Ultima's visual fidelity is also really bad in my personal opinion. Nothing matches and there are some extremely poor choices of textures. Vivid snow looks awful. A lot of Tomato's landscapes look really bad. Objects seem kinda thrown in and nothing blends together. I mean we all have our personal taste but I think almost every list on Wabbajack looks more consistent than Ultima does. If you're going for a wild and crazy look then sure, Ultima does that. But for high-fantasy visual consistency I think Vagabond and Lost Legacy do a much better job.
@@biggie_boss My man came out swinging lol. Yeah I've tried a lot actually. My favorite for awhile was fahulaan or whatever it's called. I'm actually interested in your modlist, lorerim right? Never tried it. I have not tried vagabond because of the size requirement, unless there's a way around that, and I have used lost legacy but it wasn't really my thing. I guess what I mean by visuals his enb and reshade preset, not so much the landscape stuff. Realistically I could just find out what visual mods ultima has, and just copy over the reshade and enb, however doing that might be impossible because of combability issues with another modlist. I don't really get all the hate for ultima because after all NUKT is doing this for free, so maybe I sympathize with him a little, that could be why I like it more, but I can definitely understand the disappointment. I appreciate the replies though and I will definitely subscribe
I was with you on the first couple of sentences about Nolvus being too much crap going on, but you lost me at the end. This list is just as crap filled as Nolvus is. I dont know how anyone can watch this, see the guards armors, see the town overhauls, see the epic nordic ruins every 2 feet, and then say, "Yeah this is a vanilla-esque experience"
My honest opinion about this list... it is a shit show. Not for me, not even close...
its just not vissuly consitent i am very causious with what i add to my town and cities i feel nukt just slammed every overhual toghter and created this over clutterd mess mods will always be modifications there not ment to change but to modify nukt is just change and adding which you always have to be carfull with when modding is just seems he wasent sometimes less is more and more is to much
