  • This is a Eureka Boss bagged upright model, which was purchased at the same place as my Sanitaire S634, brand new for 99$. When I first turned this on I was quite impressed! it has a healthy roaring sound that you just don't hear in plastic clean-air uprights, then I was excited about how the brushroll operates. When you have it in the standing position the brushroll is automatically deactivated, but once you press the footpedal the brush starts spinning like mad gettin ready to boss that dirt around! (pun intended) lol. The hose and attachments are very easy to use unlike similar vacs that are simply a pain, everythings easy to get to and I like the fact that the dirt doesn't go through the hose like most vacs do, having a separate oversized tube and then a diverter seems much more efficient. The bag is very easy to change too, and the pre-filter, and the Hepa filter. Overall it's hard to find a residential clean-air upright with attachments that actually works out well! and this one is an excellent buy! BTW the belt access requires removal of three screws not two.

    my windtunnel is just plain old raucous sounding. it is a bagged upright. this one definitely sounds less hyped and rowdy than my windtunnel. though it has great suction and grooms nicely and is worth the howl. though i like eurekas a bit more, at least the present models. old hoovers are still my favorite!

    I bought mine in 2006. Still working fine in 2024. Having said that, I never had any pets or kids in that time. So maybe it would have been worked to death in a normal house.

    I like how it has the diverter unlike a dirt devil I used where you have to attach the hose to the thing manually, it was a pain. But after about 2 years it broke, it puffed smoke out when I turned it on. It was a dirt devil ultra swivel glide.

    I LOVE mine, even though we had to replace the hose. It is IMO the best vacuum we ever had!

    ive had this vaccum for 7 years now...the maintenence is super easy that anyone can do it...there is 3 screws on the bottom to tak the roll off to change the belt.i just replaced the hose.ive also replaced the hepa filter door,it cracked on my wife when she feel down the stairs...ive disassembled all cleanable parts and its a cinch.i think i origanilly pai $79,what a steal....amazon or ebay is the best place for replacement filters belts,and bags

    I found one of these on someone's Curb (4870-J), I used to fix up vacuums for people who couldn't afford a new one. It needed a belt & HEPA Filter Door cover AND a through cleaning. It works really well, I kept it as my main vac. I also have a Rainbow, but this is a lot less fuss and no messy pan to clean up after. The only issue i have is it's a bit loud when the Hose is selected, but it really has great Suction.

    we used to have a convertible from the mid 1970s, a wedding present for my parents. i grew up with it but my dad trashed it! if i thought of it, i would've saved it. my windtunnel is brand new. it's really a nice machine. i want hoovers from pre 1980s eventually.

    Well its a factory Refurb from Eureka so it would be cleaned, sanitized, and anything that needed to be replaced would. It also comes with the Pet Turbo brush which comes with it.

    it definitely looks like better quality than a windtunnel. though i still think the windtunnel is probably one of the better modern hoovers. mine has great suction and has a very stiff brushroll. though it is as loud as a 747! but my old eureka with a 4 amp motor seems to clean basically as well as the windtunnel!

    nice vac bro. reminds me of my hoover windtunnel. it has a nice powerful brushroll like that. looks like eureka's run up competitor to the wind tunnel.

    Gusher, do you go through a lot of belts on this machine? I hear the belts for this vac aren't very good

  • @Barbaratio
    @Barbaratio 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Curious as if anyone has found a thicker belt that will work with these, having trouble finding a belt that's the right length for mine, all the belts I've tried are just a bit too long and they don't turn the brush roll.

    could you maybe use it without a bag? and then possibly take all the dust out outside?

    • @SharkCar
      @SharkCar 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, because the dirt can go through the motor if you did that it would be dead in a month of use

    Ive always wanted one of these, at least a bagged unit but when I offered the cheapest vac that takes bags at $50, she refused to buy it and bought a Dirt Devil instead. 🤦‍♂️
    Yea as you can imagine my mom SUCKS! 😂
