Can you cut in half the new koio capri they changed a few things and I’m curious also the To boot newyork minimalist sneaker would be cool to see too please and thank you
Work boot recommendation for a winery worker I'm usually washing tanks & regularly stepping in 2 inches of hot caustic water & chlorine water every day Is there any boot besides a pure rubber boot can is built to last such work conditions
I've been wearing these boots for two years, including almost daily in the winter. They've worked really well. They keep my feet dry and the rubber grips well on snow and ice. Good job Red Wing.
Ive seen over 40 vids throughout the years and every time he cuts the shoe in half, is like a TF2 unboxing crate moment of "will this shoe make us proud or disaapoint???"
Before watching this video, a word about Gore Tex and all of those "Breathable" fabrics in general. Gore Tex is EITHER waterproof OR it's breathable. It is physically impossible for it to breathe when it's wet. Once it's wet on the outside, it cannot breathe because of that moisture coating and blocking the pores. Gore Tex is such a well known name brand, they charge a large hit, sometimes 15% of the selling price of a garment as Gore Tex commission for the label. Testers on TH-cam have tested multiple brands of the membranes, and Gore Tex came out mid-field compared to other membranes on sports products and clothing. Best in the world currently is made by Alpinestars out of Italy, for their motorcycle apparel lines.
Absolutely!! I'm a hater in general of the Brunts but I'm super curious to see what the story is on those. My bet is they're probably going to be a "decent, just overpriced" type review.
I’ve worn these boots to work 6 days a week since 1914. I’m primarily working overhead stringing telegraph lines. I haven’t so much as broken a lace, even in the great ice storm of ‘36. These boots served me well during two tours liberating France. Every morning after a hearty breakfast at 5 am, i polish ‘em up with your momma’s bacon grease and walk to work rain or shine.
Just wear two pairs of socks leather boots like this are made for office workers or people who sit inside all day who are willing to blow 300+ plus on boots because they know they aren't actually going "work" in them i mean the guy even mentioned it in the video
LOVE THESE! I bought these direct from the Red Wing warehouse sale last October at HALF PRICE and love them. I was worried about the lining coming loose vs the original plain leather moc toes, but they’ll been bulletproof.
I have owned these boots since they were released 2 years ago. Super comfortable and they are basically still new. Holding up super well. The leather has a red dog sorta color - perhaps fading a bit over time. Also seem to wear lighter at wear spots like red dog. I also really like the look of no stitching for the heel counter. I find that visually appealing and an interesting cue that this is a special boot.
Seems like a slab of leather over top of a thin layer of quality foam would be a good compromise, I would expect that combo to have more or less the benefits of both materials. I'm not much of a moc toe fan, but that is a REALLY attractive moc toe boot!
I’ve had these for two years, so I’m excited you’re cutting these (even though it was painful to watch). I have thousands of dollars of higher end boots and shoots and this is in my top 3 favorite pair to wear.
The Blood Core Kilties look awesome and I want them. I don't have boots they would work for unfortunately. Looking forward to more stuff made out of the blood leather project.
Sure, I'll accept the foam, but I'm not impressed with a fibre board footbed at this price! I can buy other similar quality Gore-Tex boots for less than $200.00. In my world, these do not live up to the Red Wing name!
I’ve been wanting to see how redwings cowboy boots compare to traditionally made cowboy boots. Specifically the nail seat or pecos. Most of the time I’m surprised how traditionally made their products are. Hope their cowboy boots are also traditionally made
Even with the poron, it's still super firm underfoot. It's too thin. If you value underfoot cushion in boots that feel like running shoes, they're hard to find.
The wing shooter is a great boot! Love the soles on those! Overall a better boot but foreign made, I wish they’d just make the wing shooter in the USA!
Thank you for another great video. Is there any chance to cut safety moc toe boots that are available in the UK market at the moment such as Grinders and SL-Saint?
It’s been known since it came out what the 8864 was built with internally. There is no secret. I have had a pair since it mace out and I wear it in rain and snow. It being pretty good.
If the leather is waterproof why do they need a goretex lining? I'm sure the goretex lining will degrade after several months and stop working just like every other goretex boot I've owned. At least you'll be able to wax the leather up to help keep your feet dry on these boots though.
Found a pair of the 8 inch red wing mock toes at a thrift store for 8.50. Snapped them up right away! My size too. I’m hoping in a few years to get them resoled, and possibly new footbed so I can break them in myself this time.
Great video!! I know it is moctober, however, Nike has made a couple of air Jordan’s that have collaborated with A Ma Maniere. They have been marketed and believed to be the best of the best of the air Jordan’s. I’ve got a pair of air Jordan 4 A Ma’s and they are made of some sort of suede. But on the inside they seem to have a genuine leather lining to the TOE. And the suede on them looks extremely hairy, but the grain pattern is very hard to find by me. They seem to be premium. I feel like we need to know if these A Ma shoes are really that premium and really worth that premium price.
You ever see the Cabela's boots? Around 100 bucks. I got some for free working for a park and actually worked in em today and it wasn't bad. I noticed reviews saying they've been the same for 30 years. They look like logger Timbs with a kiltie haha.
How much chewing out did your buddy Stridewise give you to turn you around on this redwing strategy after your death of redwing video? He’s commented on that several times in his videos since then. He built a couple boots in Guatemala and India, and now he’s challenging the leather work master. Lol😅 Just kidding. It’s great to see the different pints of view between Stridewise, you, Tenton & Heath, and Carl Marowski.
Can you do the Rocky Outback Gore-Tex Hiker? I think it's a pretty good budget option for boot that won't be worn everyday. They're at least made in the Dominican Republic rather than China, and the cup soles are side stitched all the way around.
My red wing is an Irish setter and I only wear them during the winter as they are very warm. They may have the same lining as those but are a different model. Mine are not moc toe mine are the logger style.
The foam insole topping is fine. But, listen closely Red Wing, NOBODY WANTS A FIBERBOARD INSOLE FOR $369. How many of your once competitors have burned their brand to the ground by selling crap for short term profits? Do you really want to be the next?
i like when its red wing made of artificial materials for 350 its exactly what we need-it will give us comfort and heat. but if doc martens make same - its shit.
If redwing doesnt change it up, theyll end up like harley davidson. Sure old guys love those clunky boots. But how much longer are they gonna be buying work boots? I wish i had bought something other than redwings. Theyre nice but ruin my feet.
You realise RW exist outside of the US and, in other countries, their stuff sells out frequently? There's a big market for their stuff outside of the US. Even in the US, it isnt just old guys buying their stuff
Thank you very much for this video, I think a lot to buy this shoes and thought that it's more like a brand. After your video I realise that they definately worth that money and they build to last.
I would like to see a vid about the petrol scam. Brands like Adidas have removed leather from their sneakers. Happy smells and happy skin poisoning. Whats up?
The outsole is trash, "traction" tread is anything but traction oriented. Once you walk on these for 6 months the bottom is smooth and become dangerously slippery. Wet grass will put you on your ass. Once you get them resoled,.like i did, they become a useful boot.

Where can I read/watch more about the alpine stars stuff!?
Not redwing related but would be crazy if we see Brunt’s new moc toe that’s made in the USA get chopped in half
Absolutely!! I'm a hater in general of the Brunts but I'm super curious to see what the story is on those. My bet is they're probably going to be a "decent, just overpriced" type review.
That's CRAZY 💯🔥🙏
The 1907 is awesome and really comfortable once broken in, IMHO the best Moctoe Red Wing makes.
My Japan market 9877 Gold Sequioa Irish Setters might have some thoughts about that!
We need a RW Beckmans video ASAP!!!!

The purists won't like this...
A video idea - since winter is coming maybe You could do a comparison of few „cheap” and accesible winter shoes.
Just wear two pairs of socks leather boots like this are made for office workers or people who sit inside all day who are willing to blow 300+ plus on boots because they know they aren't actually going "work" in them i mean the guy even mentioned it in the video

Irish Setters were also called red setters in the UK. Probably why they use this russet colour
Respecfully, be more careful on the bandsaw youre making me nervous.
In the spirit of Moctober, you should cut moc toe style slippers such as minnetonka, uggs, and any moc slippers
Seems like a slab of leather over top of a thin layer of quality foam would be a good compromise, I would expect that combo to have more or less the benefits of both materials.
I'm not much of a moc toe fan, but that is a REALLY attractive moc toe boot!

I'm definitely wearing it for work. It will be nice to have a steel toe, an electrical hazard & and a waterproof 8 inch version.
I hope you get to do the new origin moc toe. Looking forward to that one.
It would be so cool to have a 6” Rose Anvil x White’s Drifter 3.1 with that black/red tea core! Think about it guys 🤙
I'm so surprised it took someone this long to make a gore tex moc toe.
Made a Review of the new Thursday Boots the Challenger. They seem like an impossibly awesome boot! Maybe the wholly grail of boots!
DuPont Teflon tetrafluoroethylene
It's what the body craves, forever.
Didn't they change the formulas to move away from more harsher materials years ago hence why, Gore-Tex isn't as weatherproof as it once was?
@@griffservo8074stops the hepatitis and AIDS sticking to your insides. No one ever mentions that benefit
That fibreboard looks so dense, looks almost like leather. It looks different than usual fibreboard
The Blood Core Kilties look awesome and I want them. I don't have boots they would work for unfortunately. Looking forward to more stuff made out of the blood leather project.
Hopefully redwing makes an 877 variant like this!!!
Yes would love to see an 8” version of these

The Hoka brand has released a new Kaha 2 Frost GTX model. I think it's worth taking this model for a review. After all, winter is coming
Even with the poron, it's still super firm underfoot. It's too thin. If you value underfoot cushion in boots that feel like running shoes, they're hard to find.
They’re still a good bit softer and more comfortable under foot than the standard RW construction.
Mammut Mercury's fit the bill
Good boots, I personally like the Thorogood waterproof 1957 moc toes a bit better.
Rad intro. I'm not a moc toe guy, but I enjoy Moctober vids
Keep it up, team.
Ryan f9 has well presented and informative video about goretex .
Are you going to do the new Origin Moc toe for Moctober fest? Very interested in that boot.
If you’re 8D or 8.5D please let me know I have new pairs for sale because I sized wrong. Im a 9D and these boots kick ass!!
Let Moctober begin! I have these and love them!
The Irish Setters are already waterproof and insulated. Hey, what's everyone wearing for Patina Thunderdome? Moctober is dead! Long live Moctober!
I'm wearing a pair of Jim Green Stockman's that I treated with Huberd's Shoe Grease because I walk around in wet grass all day.
The wing shooter is a great boot! Love the soles on those! Overall a better boot but foreign made, I wish they’d just make the wing shooter in the USA!
@@NDB469 I think you'll have to check the vintage market for a pair of American made wing shooters. 😉
Favorite series you do!! Brunt just dropped a “USA” made boot hope to see it in this years moctoeber series! Take care dude
Thank you for another great video. Is there any chance to cut safety moc toe boots that are available in the UK market at the moment such as Grinders and SL-Saint?
It’s not a bad boot if you believe it
I know they aren’t Mocs but a video on the work chukka would be cool.
Ive had Ultradry™️ Irish Setters for 5 years. FRIGGIN LOVE THEM. there i said it.

If you get the right size and style for your foot the break in process isn’t all that bad.
Maybe a work week.
If you’re actually working.
Found a pair of the 8 inch red wing mock toes at a thrift store for 8.50. Snapped them up right away! My size too. I’m hoping in a few years to get them resoled, and possibly new footbed so I can break them in myself this time.
Nice!
If I'm paying as much as these cost I want at least a leather midsole. Will the rockrooster Mantua be in the moctober lineup this year?
I love red wings! And I’m glad they did those right. I have a few pairs of them for over 10 years now. And they still look great and comfortable.👌😎👍
Great video!! I know it is moctober, however, Nike has made a couple of air Jordan’s that have collaborated with A Ma Maniere. love watching these reviews. I bought the ND2 boots from one of your videos. they're still going strong.
Nice.. How does the KEEN Utility Cincinnati work boots rank for Mocktober?
You ever see the Cabela's boots? Around 100 bucks. I got some for free working for a park and actually worked in em today and it wasn't bad. I noticed reviews saying they've been the same for 30 years. They look like logger Timbs with a kiltie haha.
Unlike most people I do not see Irish setter and red wing being 2 companies. I see them as 1.
How much chewing out did your buddy Stridewise give you to turn you around on this redwing strategy after your death of redwing video? He’s commented on that several times in his videos since then. Can we get a boot that designed to fit a human foot?
You mean like Jim Green's African ranger barefoot boots?
I have no idea but I'll take a look. Our toes should not be disfigured by footwear.
My red wing is an Irish setter and I only wear them during the winter as they are very warm. They may have the same lining as those but are a different model. Mine are not moc toe mine are the logger style.
Get the origin Goodyear welted moc in this month!
I wish they would do heritage mocs in a steel toe
So if you had to buy the 1907 or these, what would be your choice ?
Please review the new Thursday black label series!!! They show a cross section on their website but I don’t trust it
Are you thinking of looking at the Lanx Moc toe boots and see how they are made?
MOCTOBER! Please cover Dievair and Craft and Glory.
Not a moctober cut, but please do Truman boots.
Great Moctober start! I need these boots. Thank you.
ok thanks, Now I need to go buy 1. Thanks for cutting this in half.
You need to cut some Taft 365 Mocs up! I’m super curious how they are made. $70 bucks! Look like Red Wing. Just got a pair, seem legit.
They all look like red wings, thats the point
I have nike air force one highs gortex from 2006 and I can tell you the leather is better then today's shoes
I have one of those Irish setter shoes for 20 years now . 😎
The foam insole topping is fine. But, listen closely Red Wing, NOBODY WANTS A FIBERBOARD INSOLE FOR $369.

3:27 what are those second from the right boots? They look sick
I need a cowboy boot recommendation!!!!
Please cut the 10,875 to compare to the regular 875 by red wing

Thank you very much for this video, I think a lot to buy this shoes and thought that it's more like a brand. After your video I realise that they definately worth that money and they build to last.
Do Truman moc toes next.
Ahh yes.. Moctober..! Yet again 😊
Look at Texarado Boots. A new barefoot work boot company. I wanna know if they are as good as they seem.
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now hoping to see you cut up a pair of Hiax boots. See if there really worth the money or not
Should do a hender scheme shoe
Great video but please make Alexander McQueen cute in half its 500$
A bit expensive for what it is, but I like the look.
WESTON THERES NO WAY YOU AND I BOTH HAVE COCO THE CLOWNS GHOST FORM ON THE SAME ARM WHATT
Mines actually red and blue old school 3d style 😎
Moctober baby lets get it!
Beckmans plz
Patron boots!
Moctober is Back !🎉🎉🎉

Man red wing lost me a while ago I don’t think I’ll wear anything besides the 1957 thorogoods they have been really good too me and cheaper
no leather heel counter = junk
I have the 8875 non gore tex version love them
Gotta cut the hyer cowboy boots. They’re the inventor of the boot. Cool story could be a cool video
yoooo Moctober! Lets goooo
You should cut those vivobarefoot tracker mocs they just dropped
Side by side 10875 vs. 875
The outsole is trash, "traction" tread is anything but traction oriented. Once you walk on these for 6 months the bottom is smooth and become dangerously slippery. Wet grass will put you on your ass. Once you get them resoled,.like i did, they become a useful boot.
I agree, I’d like to see these with a vibram lug sole, like their roughnecks.
Happy MOCTOBER!!!
Say no to foam
Its the white sole that ruins those boots, just makes them ugly imo.
