Regal has a ton of knowledge and is great addition to aew but it was the storyline not regal that got yuta over, him with best friends was just wasted as their storylines were poor and he didn't really feature in a prominent role so he was lost in the crowd

Regal is such a treasure. This interview could have been three hours and I'd listened to all of it. One thing I will say about a lot of these interviews when it's ex WWE employees. You can just tell how strict WWE is when talking about other companies since they always ask oh can I say the name WWE. That is one great thing about AEW is they don't care if you say the name WWE or if you talk good about them. its just very telling how he had to say I don't care if i get fired for this but i have nothing bad to say about WWE. That just shows how some ex WWE employees still have the WWE mindset about talking nice about other companies.

14:40 this story of Regal calling out Moxley on the first day of class in FCW is great because the feeling he described that he and HHH had when they first heard him cut an impromptu promo is exactly how I felt the first time I saw/heard Mox and knew instantly he'd be a star. That mini FCW feud they had was one of the best things going on in wrestling at that time and so few people got to know about it while it was happening.

OH MY GOSH WILLIAM REGAL HAS A TEGU
Oh gosh. I've rarely been happier :) I have an absolutely sweet black & white Argentine Tegu. She has a similar personality to Bobbi there.
My goodness. I'm just over the moon. They're wonderful :)

Would love to see Tim Thatcher, Biff Busick and Daniel Makabe come into the Blackpool Combat Club. Watched Regal from his days working the Holiday camps in the 80s

I agree. My favorite angle of his was the Eugene angle. He can really do anything asked of him.

Regal is the best. Gotta love N.E.R.D here in New England for raising those reptiles he has now.

Regal has to be not only one of best moinds in wrestling, but one of its all time best practitioners, which makes him not only a living legend, but one that is still legit even after all hes been through. The Mastermind, The Professor Moriarti of English Grappling, Lord Regal.

I really don't mean this to be mean or anything. Regal has been a favorite of mine for 25 years. He's the reason I watched fcw and nxt. But just, is anyone else shocked that he's only 53? Maybe it's the Englishness, but I assumed 63 for some reason.

He is only a couple years older than Jericho. When they were feuding in WWE early on in Jericho's tenure you would have thought Regal was at least 10 years older than him. A hard life definitely puts the years on.

He has a history of heavy drug and alcohol abuse. That can age you prematurely.

@@tmage23 true. Also he always looked like a 40 year old. Like he was a real man's man after all. He was working as a teen, and on tv pretty young, but he always looked 40 in his mid 20s.

It's good to hear Darren Matthews speaking in his natural accent. I grew up with British television in Canada, and after watching Regal in WCW and WWE, I could just tell that wasn't his natural accent. It was the standard, stereotypic accent you hear from most British characters on American television. Pierce Brosnan is Irish, but he hardly ever speaks in his natural accent. And the funniest for me is John Barrowman, who usually speaks with a very standard, flat, mid-Atlantic/American accent but his natural accent is Scottish. My natural accent is all over the place. Because I grew up with the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, sometimes I pronounce words the Canadian way, and sometimes I sound half Irish or like I'm from Manchester. Or maybe that's the Trailer Park Boys influence.

One of the best GM in the WWE, THE best of all time when he was GM in NxT and of course a technical legend in the ring.
If you do something with Wrestling, you should try to have Regal around!
