Do you ride pumptracks? Have you found any other skills that transfer from the pumptrack to the trails? Let us know down below! 👇

Do we even have pumptracks in the US?

You DID NOT explain where the Weight came from to PUMP the Bike..
To me, it looks like you "STRAIGHTEN YOUR LEGS" or you "STAND UP" as your REAR WHEEL is traveling Down Wards.
By pushing your BODYS Weight Up-WARDS, has an EQUAL OPPOSITE REACTION and creates Downward force to move forward..

when on a pumptrack you can ride as many laps in a row as you can and keep trying to beat your own record to improve cardio, core strenght and if you control your breathing you could do 9 laps or more like I do at my local bike park we have jumps and a pumptrack and a dh trail, I have record so far of 10 full laps and a half before I was cooked tired.

I’m glad they mention about it being a workout. I had this perception like it’s supposed to conserve energy. Takes a while getting used to gain momentum without pedaling.

The same physics you used when swinging on a swing set as a kid.

Doing my best to hold back on the pumping innuendo.

Id like to see more of the slow mo showing when and at what points you load up the suspension. You can see the movement in the suspension as you load it up so it's a good visualisation tool.
It looks like you try to transfer your weight to the front just after the crest before the rear goes over, then load the rear as it goes over deloading the front. Deload both to get up the ramp rinse and repeat.

I love Brit's dry humor. Incredulous about iced tea. 😂 I start my day with green tea and drink Arnold Palmer's the rest of the day. Take that and pump it mate! 😂

It’s like increasing momentum on a swing. We’ve all been on the swingset and created that momentum.

If you lock out the suspension on a full suspension bike isn’t as good as or close to a hardtail?

So today i went to my local pump track (also velosolutions, i loved it) and i think this is intuitive but I knew my best laps had no sitting, and no pedalling… is this correct? also i’d love to be able to jump around like that, it looks so cool. Also how fast are y’all going? I was only hitting like 20kmh top speed and it looks like some of these guys are going twice as fast

Why do GMBN always use knobby tyres for urban/concrete? Is it just "that's what's on my bike" or a deliberate/optimal choice?

    • @alecwhatshisname5170
      @alecwhatshisname5170 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Brother, it’s the “global mountain bike network”. They’re on mountain bikes, with dirt tires. Nobody’s changing both tires for roadies just for a tarmac pump track

    • @MichaelSmith-fg8xh

They routinely change tyres and wheels. The pump tracks isn't the best example admittedly. A better example is Blake's 2019 urban downhill... Racing on concrete\asphalt and complaining about grip.

i went to a pump track earlier today, is it normal to pump most through the real leg or should it be more evened out?

You have your weigh over the rear wheel when pumping...
