- The first in a series of short videos showing how my 1983 Mk 3 Capri has been converted to a Small Block Ford V8 (Windsor)
Over this series I will try to answer all the questions anyone considering converting their Capri to a V8 may have. Starting with body modifications, Strengthening of the shell, Engine mounting and Gearbox and Clutch.
Capri Braking and Suspension are well covered on TH-cam, however I will do a brief rundown on my setup at the end of this series.
Stay tuned.

Nice mate. You might remember that V8 Capri's dominated Australian street car drag racing in the late 80's. But way too many had a small block Chev stuffed into them.
Great content, looking to getting a capri and putting in a 302 v8 very helpful
I'm hoping to do a new video over the summer.... Just got to find the time.
Hi Phil! Did you finally get that Capri last year? What are you working on now?
Excellent, I am looking to re ignite my project with same engine and box combo.
Hi, Ive been a be distracted with work and another project so the V8 has been on the back-burner. Its an expensive conversion but well worth it when you are crusing on the motorway and hearing that V8 rumble. Check out my cruise video.

I just trying to find a t5 box.
Still not sure about rear axle, thinking a gripper diff. Not sure how mad to go.
@@pintopunteruksmallford1035 What rad did you fit in your conversion?
@@WCPRCModelsCraft My radiator was custom built by the previous owner. Unfortunately it's too small and gets quite hot in traffic.
@@pintopunteruksmallford1035 i was looking at maybe a sierra Cosworth radiator for mines with a thicker core, but will see
Nice video. Do you reckon the pinto 4 speed gearboxes are suitable for a stock 302?
