  • In this video I want to give viewers a gift idea for the holidays. Who does not need a tissue from time to time. Specially during the cold season when we are more prone to get the colds. Why not have an elegant tissue holder for those tissues? So I want to create some simple tissue holders that would be inexpensive, easy to do and beautiful. I love these tissue holders! I hope you enjoyed this video and give them a try
    Measurements:
Outer fabric cut at 6 inches x 7 inches
Linning fabric cut at 6 inches x 8.5 inches

I've watched at least 10 or more tutorials on the tissue holder, this is the best. No excessive talking, very quick, informative and helpful. I too would sew assembly line. I like that you did that. It's all about efficiency for me. They are so cute. Thank you

So pleased to have found this tutorial. Someone gave me one of these holders with a get well card when I had flu and I was so touched I wanted to pay it forward whenever I found out how to make them. So happy I now can😄

I think I just found another little Christmas gift to make. It's nice to not have to deal with a zipper. I like the way the lining forms a binding on the middle part.

I made these tissue covers years ago and have my pattern saved but, couldn't remember how to put it together and I am getting ready to have a craft sale the end of April. I picked your video to watch first and wow - I never thought of making the squared off corners for these. I always use the squared off corners when making hand bags but, never for something this tiny and what a super idea. It makes it so much nicer.
For children I am also going to sew rick rack on the outer edge of the opening to resemble teeth and on one side put large black, green, etc buttons to look like eyes, so as they pull the tissues out of "the mouth of the monister" or fish or frog - it will maybe help their cold's not be so bad. Maybe it will entice them to blow their nose more than just sniff.

Hi, great video but instead of overlapping the borders I butted them together. It looks so much more even. I also cut a quarter inch out of my corners and mashed my corners even with the point it’s less bulk.

What happened to the excess fabric when you sewed the two pieces together?

    • @scrapinmaniac

Hi there, when you iron it, the excess fabric becomes the strip on top of the tissue holder.
