I saw PE live with LL, and EricBRakim, just after their 1st album release...you could already sense they would be incredible and would be legendary, saw 100s of concerts but that one i never forget, also LL cool J was the hardest MC out there that time(believe it or not...). he ripped it totally... really, 80s decade was GOLD!
Had no idea Prof. Griff had fulfilled so many titles and roles! And the realness/gems he dropped on this! All I know is, if you call yourself hip hop and you don't fuck with this, somethin' wrong with your brain!✊
I know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know a way to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost the login password. I appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Ulises Josiah i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process now. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Realistically, _Fight the Power_ is my very first memory slash introduction in hip hop. I don't remember too much, but I do remember Chuck D's voice and the way it moved it. I was a baby so my memory's a lil' fuzzy. Anyway, y'all got me in trouble, Uncle Griff. When _911 is a Joke_ came on, why did my cousins make me dial 911 and ask if it was a joke? lol. I did and ended up gettin' in trouble.😜 Good interview, fellas.
I definitely agree that much of hip-hop today is performed by products of drug addicted and broken families. Chuck once said Hip-Hop is the CNN of the black community. These mumble rappers aren't talking gibberish and rapping about nonsense without reason - many lack guidance and really don't have anything relevant to say. Yeah, black lives matter - but, black intelligence should matter as well. I miss the days when Hip-Hop music had meaning. Groups like NWA and Geto Boys, were considered radical, but at least their music included positive empowering elements.
Peace Vlad, I appreciate the interviews you do with people like Professor Griff, Immortal Tech, Akala, etc.. People quick to say you appropriate the culture, but basically none of the other platforms your size or bigger, or even smaller really, are giving a voice to people who have some real shit to say. A suggestion I have, as a way for you to give back more to the culture, is to create a segment, maybe once weekly, where you showcase up and coming artists who might not have millions of views on their videos but have hundreds of thousands, for example, or some type of legitimate following (like myself and many other deserving artists). Kinda like an "Unsigned Hype" type of thing. A BIG part of Hip Hop journalism that has been forgotten is breaking relatively undiscovered artists. Nowadays everyone just jumps on what is hot and recycles the same stuff over and over. It definitely couldn't hurt your channel to do these types of videos on occasion, they'd still get some type of views and you'd get paid, but it could literally change people's lives for the better. It would be a BIG thing to do for the culture. Think about it and holler at me, I'll blaze that couch of yours with straight truth and knowledge :)
DISL Automatic / Plant Based BIGness I take it you never heard of brother Rich. He has been interviewing this guy twice a week for the last 2+ years. He happen to have over a hundred thousand followers by the way.
Peace fam, No I haven't but I'll check him out. But it's not just about Griff, it's a lot of "conscious" MCs and Hip Hop heads that Vlad interviews. I know there are a few other smaller channels that do similar interviews, And those smaller channels are cool and deserve props. But they not doing the wide range of interviews that Vlad does. And when we look at Vlad, his counterpart, in terms of subscriber count, is worldstar and they do absolutely nothing positive for the culture, yet people quick to call Vlad a vulture and don't really say shit about worldstar. I can say with confidence that none of the channels that have a following as big or bigger than Vlads do interviews with cats like Griff, Immortal Tech, or anybody who has some real input when it comes to the culture. So I just wanted to point out that it's not like Vlad isn't dong anything at all to give back to the culture with his platform, although I do believe he could be doing a lot more, and that's why I gave a suggestion as to something he could do as opposed to just bashing the man like most cats do.
my first concert was PE, LL and Eric B and Rakim package tour, in the 80s....PE just launched their debut album...it was the BEST concert ever, incredible raw..... and i saw all big names but it was something different... , to sum it up: 80s was the best decade ever and its all piss nowadays...really
Got a pen and pad? Yep... Proceeds to outline some real contributions to a group that changed the lives of many people without powerful men in their lives. When Griff breaks down the different eras and the impacts/reactions in the black community??? Genius on display!
Griff hasn't even gotten started yet. hes gonna garner the most views on here once vlad starts asking the right questions or griff just gets loose with it. pause. makes lord jamar seem PC
I bought ITaNoMtHUB on first day at Tower Record store. I HATED "Rebel w/o a Pause" when I first heard it. I saw PE at a show in Greensboro, NC and LOVED "Rebel..." ever since. PE is my favorite rap group, period. Chuck D is a definite Top 5 for everybody. He is THE unsung hero of rap. Most of his raps dont rhyme but always on beat. How does he do it??
Professor griff & The s1ws made public enemy, u can tell Griff did a good job, really with funneling the information cause u can tell cause the message died down after Griff was kicked out. Still my favorite group of all time.
Cool to hear about how the It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back album was done cause that was and still is 1 of THE Best Hip Hop albums ever .Right up there with Ice Cube's AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted,NWA Straight Outta Compton just for the impact that they left on hip hop as an artform and music . theses albums in my opinion are must owns for hip hop and music fans in general .
Mi Uzi Ways A Ton....Bring The Noise Griff!!....real shit!! The "game" is so far from the reality that this and other "real" hip hop laid down.S/O "Bomb Squad"
Spectrum City was a dj crew and released songs on an unknown label 🔖 Public enemy was chuck vision period. The role of flavor flav is 2 be the star 🌟 of the crew Cus every group has a secret star that will go on to be in movies, commercials, tv series or guess star and many many more things.......
I like Professor Griff..tells it how it is n how it could be compared to the other respected artists on here (that narrows the list dwn a lot) Tray Deee was good with his interview too...
@ 8:42 "... creating rap music 'cuz I never dug disco ..." th-cam.com/video/cm_WbiO3aPE/w-d-xo.html "its a rapper called 4-ever Fresh which he raps these lyrics on a track called " Urban Sound Surgeon ".

What's Funny is Chuck D Considers "Fear of a Black Planet" PE's Best Album Btw: I also think "It takes a Nation of Millions......" is the Group's Best Album
Man "bum rush the show was the shit homie." The best album to me by far. Channel zero, my uzi weighs a ton, what? Don't know about statistics, record sales. My dad (rip) was against rap, didn't want me listening to it. When he heard P.E. he was like "cool, they talking some black shit." Lol

GRIFF AND CHUCK= SAME BIRTHDAY (AUG. 1). KEEP SMILING, GRIFF. YOU'VE SURVIVED ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS AND ALL THA OTHER BULLSHIT THEY THREW AT YOU NEVER WORKED. 2017 P.E. STILL STANDING BITCH!!!!
The message in todays rap is destroying the black culture , Late 70s through the 80s was warning people, NWA was by far the best at warning people of life in the hood and the outcome of drug use in my eyes, Eminem was a product of 70s and 80s rap, That is why he soared to the top. It wasn't because he was white, Whites have listened to hip hop from the beginning. Hip hop today needs a different message, The message needs to shift towards family, kicking drugs, dreaming of and getting out of the hood. While at the same time trashing the ones who have a thumb on the community but act like they give a shit. Politics is killing people, Keeping a entire generation down by not providing the tools to get out, School is the key, Yet in the hood most schools are 1 and 2 star rated schools. For most its Hustle or starve, But with Hustle comes death or jail eventually,
greatest hip hop album of all time period
Can't match Chuck's voice and Flav's ad libs
I was Lucky to see PE 3 times in the 80s, That shit was Mind blowing

He'll show some vital shit like this...and then follow it up by having porn stars on. Completely trivializing the whole deal.
