    Getting rid of that starship tail light assembly really made the bike much more masculine. Well done Sir.

      I like it, I still ride it regularly though I think it will be relegated to be my commuter bike when a Transalp shows up. But that could be a while.

    do your knees hurt after riding on long rides? i know mine sure do. i dont get why honda put the footpegs so high and back on this bike. it would have been better to have mid controls.

      Can't say I've had that issue, I replaced the footpegs with the SW ones that don't seem to be any lower or further forward, they're just bigger.

      Also, how are the nobby tires holding up on asphalt? Do you ride often on paved roades and can the last 6000 miles on the road without off road? I like the tractor look and might transform mine into one.

      The TKC 80s don't last long, if you rode pavement I would be surprised if you got more than #k from the rear and 4K from the front. Decent tires tho' good both on and off road.

      I never put one on it, I would have done if I was going on a long tour. I did turn the tank bag around though and replaced the pipe. I intend to make a vid assessing it as an adventure bike, it scores pretty high with a couple of flaws.

    • @lr882027
      @lr882027  ปีที่แล้ว

      Rears about 3K, front about 4K, not very much really, and I let the tread get pretty damn low. Great tires though do well on the road and the dirt. I now have a spare set of wheels with road tires so I swap out as required.

    Couldn't you unbolt the tank bag mount and rotate it 180 and rebolt. That would rotate your tank bag 180 and may move it a little forward.

    • @lr882027
      @lr882027  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You know I wish I had done originally. The mount is not central on the tank (front to back) so rotating it would move it about 3 inches forwards which would take it over the lock.
      Sigh. Live and learn.

      Dunno, it was on it when I got it, I did research it and found out it was about $140 or so. Seeing as any exhaust is going to make virtually zero difference to engine performance, I wouldn't spend too much money.
