I am really liking you logic of making the gasifier do its thing with improvements as you move along. Keep on making great videos and have a Happy New Year too. V

The exhaust ist used to heat up water, to heat the house!
The fancy red, and big black box behind the white post are heatexchangers to capture the heat from the exhaust gases!!

you can build a fairly simple gasifier for less than $500 and run your 5kW genset all day long on limbs and scrap wood that cost you nothing and kill no living trees.
I am currently running tests on tree waste on a larger system; current ROI projections are 3 years on a 60KW system based upon the numbers so far. Running solely on feedstock that otherwise would end up in the landfill...

Well done, I see your metalworking skills improved over the period of development, that's a complement not a dig. :)

    Jep!! Thats the Trick!!
Nothing else! But in this size 2-5kW the Imbert Dimensions don't work, because the heart would be just around 1inch (2cm) and no coal could pass the restriction.
So there are some teaks nessecary!!
-> What i wanted to achieve, that its easier to run so you just have to fill up a big hopper and besides ash cleaning there should be no other Maintenance work to do!
So you have the same maintenancing like a pellet oven (fully automated)!!

A few guys been asking for the CAD Drawings!
I think its easier to check out just the drawing from DJ: woodgas.nl microgasifiers
The link you can find in the video description!
A little over the half of the Page you can find a Hand skizz from the dimensions!
I'd change the Rost as explained!
Especially when you plan on using Woodchips G30

nice work!! I've built one, and now another. what kind of blower are you using? I googled by-pass compactor, but didn't find what I hoped. I have a blower that has such tight tolerances, the slightest tar will gum it up. I'd be very interested in finding out more about yours. thanks!

    Good presentation man.
Do not let the thumbs down'ers; the nay-sayers; armchair critics get you down.
Any day burning wood-for-power is a good day. Burning is learning. And IC engine running is learning well.

I'm interested in the consumption/production ratio. How much wood would be necessary to produce full power? Like to power a house for example, how big a generator I need and how big should the gasifier be?

Loved the video and the effort you put into it, but, as the captions are unreadable on my screen, totally useless to me. The design is really interesting and I would love to learn more, especially the tar removal. Any links to any relevant information would be appreciated. Thank you.

since it is all pictures i think that it is better if you put it on a website, and not youtube .... easier to scroll on a web browser than to go forwards and backwards in a video

    What the heck??
    Whats special about it?
Its just tubing (you can roll them also yourself), Its a saw that makes plump cuts, a good welder and some generator unit .... nothing else???
The genset is made to run for 15 years with just some oil changes! And you can capture all the heat to heat the house, greenhouse what ever!
Nearly nobody in the US uses the exhaust heat to heat a house ...
    Also All powerlabs doesn't!
Oil seems to cheap! We pay around 3.50 €/Gallon for Diesel/Oil for the furnace
