The castle looks so good!! The only suggestion I can make is that the telescope looks like it's about to fall out of the slot in the observatory. Maybe add a large gear underneath to support it, and explain how it can move? Happy birthday, and keep doing what you're doing, it's amazing!!
@@fWhipHappy Birthday fWhip, I am replying to you because I wanted to give you a tip and I wasn’t sure if you knew… Anyways, if you wear leather boots you won’t fall into powdered snow! Also great video! :D
Just an idea, but id really like to see some kind of "I upgraded my Workspaces" Video. Like a Lumberjack-shack where you're choping spruce and acacia wood. Also you could upgrade the ride into the mines. Like some random little caves you go through while you descend to get more deepslate or tuff. But of course build what you feel like, because its still all incredible.
I feel that would be a great idea, and it would maybe also include interiors of builds he has set aside, more like a “clean up, improve, and small builds” episode that’s just him adding even more life and beauty into his already amazing world :D
@@josephehlers2007 i think that idea on its own would be great for everyone wachtching every episode, but it wouldnt perform as a video on its own, so i think combining it with a "big cave transformation" or something would be smart
@@ottensein It would be smart, and it would do well with everyone who watched every episode and people just discovering the series 👍 Besides, caves are awesome
This is unreal at this point. Someone needs to come out at mojang and credit this guy with having the greatest Minecraft world to ever exist and continue to exist even besides the fact that it’s hardcore. It’s so impressive. Only thing I keep thinking now is how you can keep adding lore to it or factions for a story
In a previous video you asked for name suggestions for the village. I suggested that you name it Way, enabling a path to Way and a way to Path. In a similar vein, I would suggest naming this build the Castle High, or just High Castle - then, you could ALSO have a "high"way connecting it to the other builds. I've loved this entire series, as I appreciate your focus on roads and interconnectedness, with all those farms laid down in-between everything. It's so beautiful!!
Having the castle on to of the hill reminds me of visiting Neuschwanstein castle as you have to hike up to it or pay for transportation up the mountain. Visiting all the castles in Germany was a fun trip. We even stayed in one. If you decide to go, make sure you go when the Rothenburg festival is happening. It is worth going to.
Copper Aging tip: if you place a layer of oxidized blocks down then place copper you want to age on top it will go faster than spacing it out. If you place oxidized slabs underneath that will also help speed it up more. Hopefully that could save you some time. The space under path would probably work well since you're around for projects and gathering materials a lot
I wanted the copper trap door recipe to be ingots instead of blocks, but not having to deal with the aging process on those was worth using the blocks instead. Oh well....
Fun fact about powdered snow; its our fault. The biome update that added it had a community poll to decide what biome was getting overhauled first, and mountain won the vote. So we have no one to blame but ourselves for voting for 'snowier snow'.
You referenced an airship dock. I know you want to. Build one. Build an airship. In fact, why don't you build several? Give them several colors to enforce the idea of multiple factions @etekplays4057 had. I know you want to. Just do it. JUST. DO. IT.
I personally like this castle and the idea that it’s very difficult to access. However, I recently got done climbing a 13,000 foot tall mountain at 45+ degrees, so I can tell you that the natural slope is NOT gonna cut it for inaccessibility, hence the wandering trader. My thoughts on improving the mountain to fit the lore include maybe making some ice-spike fields, cliffs, or glaciers. Basically some kind of terrain detail that makes it fit along those lines.
Fun fact, telescopes never extend our of the dome of observatories. That's a pop science myth. The point of the dome is to protect the telescope from weather
The wandering trader is the resident wizard who happens to have teleportation powers which the castle residents are unaware of (unaware of the powers) but hes just kind of there and they just accept it because he knows astronomy and they need the map charts for their trade with new papyrus :3
I was today years old when I learned I'm older than fwhip... absolutely wild. Happy birthday, and thank you for always making fun, creative, and interesting content!
The castle looks absolutely fantastic, I love how the grey colour pallet stands out against the snowy biome and really draws the eye up to it from a distance. Also the little patches of brown and teal from the mud, copper and prismarine really bring some life to the grey :D. Hope you have a wonderful birthday and this was a fun episode!
you mentioned having other blocks using the snow layer mechanic, which is exactly what a modpack: conquest reforged does. It's a blast to build with, and you can spend hours on small builds just with detailing 😆
hello fWhip, for faster oxidation of any copper blocks, you need to place already oxidized copper blocks next to the blocks that need to be oxidized, they will significantly speed up the oxidation.
Happy birthday! As an inspiration for the future, I would like to suggest more of the "magical" builts like the iron farm. It's strange to me that only one building is built with magic like that in the whole world. It's just an idea though, so do as you please. Hope you have a great birthday 😊
You should start aging all the copper trapdoors in your copper aging facility because of how easy it is to get oxidized copper blocks from trial chambers.
Hey fWhip, I think something that would be really helpfull for terraforming the underwater section at the docks would be to use a water bottle on the dirt underwater so that you dont have to break and replace it and you could just turn it into mud immediately, you could also do that to recycle the dirt your breaking back into the project you're working on! BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
As a hobby astronomer I have some critics to your observatory... Firstly, the telescope is way too big and would be uncontrollable. It also is too long and never is outside of the dome because you want to protect it with the dome. The lens is also usually a bit deep in the tube and not at the end of it. But, anyway, amazing build!
That is a pretty good castle! I think you should add crevices running down the mountain in front of the smeltingwater gates, to give a feel that the water has cut into the mountain over hundreds of years
bruh, everyone complains the trap doors cost too much to make and want them to be ingots, and now everyone complains they have to wait for them to age 😂, myself included
Ours; it was added in the biome update, which had a community vote for what biome was going to get overhauled first. Mountain won the vote with 'snowier snow'.
For the basalt farm, I think you should add pistons on either side of you on a timer so you dont have to move your mouse, just hold the break button and let the pistons do the work for you!
As a Hermitcraft watcher, the colors you used for the mountain shading near the castle with the deep slate and snow and blue ice gives me such decked out 2 vibes and I am LOVING IT. Amazing builds!!!! The castle looks sooooo cool!
i had started a mc world to hopefully be a long lasting one, and this is makin me wanna make a castle my mega base ive never used coral blocks much but they look great as a transition between packed mud and tuff
You should consider doing a “polar express” style train track spiralling up the mountain to the castle leading from the city via some possible raised rail roads? Could add a cool layer of depth to the city and connection to the castle
I feel like this castle would be populated by monks or something who study the stars and create illuminated manuscripts. From the city, you can just barely hear Gregorian chanting coming from the icy cliffs.
It may be a little late, and it's not quite a question as it is a suggestion. So, you know how you worked on the highlands? What if, though most likely a side project, you build your own biome? Either a biome in Minecraft that you could redo, or one that doesn't exist in Minecraft, and make it a reality! This would also be really fun around the spawn castle, or even the tuff one!! I just really want to see your take on this lol, and I think it would add a lot of life and character to your world!! (Don't get me wrong, your world does have a LOT of life and character.. I just want to know your opinion..)
The castle looks very good I did like some of the creative uses of the various colours with the blocks texture plus more mountain terraforming and good amount of humour.
Hey FWhip! First of all great vid. Second, happy birthday! I know u mentioned adding an airship docking at the new castle. What if the design of it was similar to the wandering trader starship? I just think adding another one would be some fun lore stuffs.
@fWhip Happy birthday hope you have a good day and everything looks good i read a comment that said to add a gear you could also add a support beam angled to help hold it up. Again hope you have a awesome birthday 🎂❤
Perhaps there should be an additional effect that can be _added_ to Efficiency V and Haste II, to allow insta-mining more things, including deepslate. Maybe a potion, or an area effect from a new passive mob that spawns in deepslate layers and can be tamed. Or, and I know this sounds crazy, but bear with me here, maybe just add full stacks of desirable bulk materials (sand, deep slate, cobbled deep slate, clay, mud, ...) to the trial spawner loot tables, instead of, you know, potatoes and junk. Crazy, right? (It's not like peaceful mode is realistically playable anyway...) 30 really isn't old. It's not young any more, but it's not old either. 50+ is old. 30-49 is middle-aged. So congrats, you are now middle-aged. Although I should warn you, years slip by faster, the older you get.
I think itd be great to add a Norman Castle as an outpost but to change it up a bit by making it out of sandstone for New Papyrus. Kinda how Path has the spawn chunk mud castle watching over the bay.
i think this tuff castle gonna be my top fav building in this series.... is has such a unique vibe like it is rare to see this kind. But when the castle is done, it is more like a prison in faraway and quite place yk like where famous person being jailed😂😂
Happy birthday! The castle is next level, especially your skill with shading. My two cents on the telescope.. I think modifying it to more of a cylindrical shape will make it look less goofy. Most irl telescopes aren't flared, but are more so a set of cylinders. So the one you have now comes off a bit cartoony

Solution to the copper aging and that is to make a field for them or have underground caves where you are to building.
