Kouji Wada, the singer for the Adventure, 02, Tri, Tamers, Frontier and the second Savers openings (and many, many more songs in the Digimon franchise) lost a long battle to cancer in 2016... I believe the Tri opening was his last song recorded for Digimon... The xros wars manga does a good job explaining the continuity, by making the inconsistencies a part of how the digital world works, while including characters from adventure and even the v-tamer manga, as well as tons of references to other stuff, like bagramon's backstory literally showing marcus beating up yghdrasil

If you do end up watching, I recommend that you do Digimon Adventure 01, 02, Tri. those three are connect, and in my opinion, they are the best. (Mainly because I grew up watching Digimon, so I'm probably being biased.)
@@schobii5643 I don't think Adventure 02 is as good as Adventure or Tamers, I would comfortably place at least Ghost Game over it, maybe Savers and Appli Monsters too. But OP was talking about Digimon Adventure Tri, and Tri was pretty fucking bad. Their argument seems to be "these 3 are connected therefore it's better than the stand alone ones" which is just an empty head take regardless.
That last one is a 'reboot' of the original show and there's a lot of good things about it even though there are some differences. 1) the characters have a much better connection with each other and there's no fillers 2) the characters have a much more 'direct' approach to interacting with digimon or the environment. For example the digimon tamers ACTUALLY try to fight alongside their digimon partners instead of just standing around 3) One big thing I love is the fact that this is probably the first time we've seen Digimon be able to digivolve into different evolution paths in an almost 'free' manner, different evolution paths were more 'rare' and usually when the leading protagonist's digimon has a 'dark evolution'. 4) Many scenes and stories have become 'bite sized' so you will breeze through various 'arcs' or stories or characters quite fast, but I think they did a damn good job in the storytelling for the time limit they had. Digimon Tri is the 'continuation' of the original series where everyone grows older and goes through further 'coming of age' mature development, as well as the struggles with very real life consequences of property damage and possible harm/risk to civilians since fights take place in the real world, not the digital world. I'm surprised Tamers is your favorite because many people tend to say something different, I'm actually happy. Tamers season's English Dub opening is not too shabby either. The start of the opening always gets to me, coolest part.
Fun fact digimon last evolution kizuna is real and it is a movie for the timeline is digimon adventure to digimon adventure 02 to digimon adventure tri to digimon last evolution kizuna. For digimon adventure 2022 is a reboot of digimon adventure story and digimon xros war first 2 season is about a war between 4 faction one of the faction is the villain's faction and the other 3 is the good guys and fusion digimon together for the third season is about hunting digimon to fusion them together to make a new digimon and fight digiquartz that want to rule both the digital world and real world
No one seems to have pointed out that the Digimon Frontier one in this video is not the REAL version of the opening. Like the song is. But the visual were edited to include the 6th kid who joins the cast later in the story by splicing scenes of the episodes. Which honestly ruins the presentation and removes a lot of the best visuals in the opening. Like they remove the final shot of all 10 Digi Spirited. And cool momment in the middle of the song where the chsracters lips move to match the ehat the simger is saying.
"Is that a Digimon? That doesn't look like one. Looks like an angel." Plenty of Digimon are literally just " a person". There is no rule to how a Digimon looks like. XD
Great Video! Always Love Watching Peoples Reaction To Digimon For The First Time. Btw, You Missed The Most Recent Digimon Opening "Digimon Ghost Game:FACTION"
Digimon has multiple continuities in the anime. Seasons 1/2 are the same universe (along with the Tri movies, Kizuna, and now 02 The Beginning)- The plot for these seasons was basically 7 kids get summoned to another world and have to team up with lil monsters to save the other world. Season 2 introduces more characters and focuses more on how the two worlds are linkd and such. Season 3 /Tamers is its own universe (though there is a link to season 1, its relaively minor and doesnt affect th plot any)- Focus is more about kids just having fun with the monsters they bfriend... later on has a whole save the world plot. Season 4- yet another timline, Humans summond to save the digital world... this season/series shook things up by having the humans do the fighting by becoming digimon. And it was minus like 2 episodes set entirely within t he digital world. Season 5/ DataSquad/Savers - main character is 14, main girl 18, and the blond dude is 14 but already graduated from some high end university cause he's some sort of genius. They are part of basically a police like agency tasked with protecting the human world from digimon attacks. So MiB basically... just they lack the memory erasing pens. Fun season overall. Season 6/Fusion/Xros wars- The manga for this portrays it more as some weird mash up universe where everything from the past stuff all happened (or some version of everything at least) But as with what appears to be t this point a even numbered series trend. They shook things up by getting rid of the levels that existed for the first 5 and just went rule of cool and gave the main dude a whole army that could combine. The first 30 episodes didnt start to get good until like ep 14. Then you had the 2nd arc (death generals/dark generals) which was pretty solid. Then th oddnss that was Hunters... since originally it was its own series (like season 2 was to season 1) set in th same world as Xros wars... however mid production they retroactively rolled it into Xros wars proper. It nver got a US english dub (not sure if it got a dub elsewhere) But then again it definitely felt the least thought out. Setting a few concepts up but never actually exploring them. The first 2 arcs were pretty simple plot wise- 3 armies are fighiting ovr some mcguffin, you collct all the parts of said mcguffin and you can reshape the world however you wish. Part 3 shifted the focus to the human world, never actually involvd the digital world if i recall correctly, and added a bunch of restrictions with no xplanation as to why they suddenly exist. Thre was some sort of tournament type set up that showd up like halfway through, lasted one ep... clearly they had no idea what they wanted to do with that storyline. Applimon which might be the most contested as to whether it counts or not (at the very least its digimon adjacent) Since basically instead of digimon and the digital world existing, the focus is on monsters born from the cloud essentially. App based monsters. I personally view it as proving that the ideas of series 6 (xros wars) were good ideas and were just poorly executed. Since they do hav their own power levels ( called grades instead of levels) so there is clear progression and theres also a clear distinction between a power up form (app link) and new forms/ evolution (App Gattai) Where as in Xros wars there seemed to be no logic behind what resulted in a weapon/add on and what resulted in a new name Xros wars probably had rules they just werent made clear. And part 3 definitely tried to establish a bunch of rules to bring thins more in line with what fans were used to but yeah. Tri was a set of 6 movies that acted as follow up to season 1/2. Advenure 2020 is a reboot of th original, set in 2020 rather than 1999, so its yet another continuity. Kizuna (the final op) actually hit japan before Adventure 2020 started) it was a movie set 5 years after the Tri movies.

If you haven’t watched the Italian versions you should. Italy almost always makes their own openings for anime and they usually kick the English versions butts.
Last Evolution opening was a redone old version because the main Digimon composer died and from my understanding the song was one of his favourite ones.
Every season is in it's own separate universe with no connection with each other for a few exceptions. Digimon Adventure, 02, Tri, and Last Evo are all in the same timeline (Last Evo is a Movie). Obviously the Xros Wars Trilogy of Seasons are all together. Everything else though is on it's own. You also missed the most recent season being Digimon Ghost Game
Kayanna: Fun fact about the Japan version of anime it's more lengthy and has extra bits than the english dub vers and I kinda like the english voice of the characters
Digimon Ghost Game was an amazing season except the finale which was rushed since Bandai wanted to start pushing Digimon Seekers into releasing. Maybe we'll get a season 2 sometime where we get Arcturusmon, Proximamon and the "supposedly scrapped" Millenniumon arc/story
Ahh! Digimon was my childhood, and I also rewatched my favorite, Adventure, and it's continuity, 02, a few times through my teenage and adult years... Then I watched Adventure tri. this year and it was such a let down imo. If you do watch it, I would totally recommend Adventure and 02, Adventure being definitely the most popular Digimon installment! I remember also really liking Frontier as a kid, but I never rewatched it after growing up, I might have to do it now cause the opening and first ending are SO nostalgic to me, I haven't stopped singing them today. 😭
woudl love to hear you also react to Brave heart and Break up not as familiar with tamers and frontiers digivolution themes but advernture and 02's themes kick butt!
i dont know if you would be interested, but you could try out the Same openings in German, they poured their Blood into the Voice (in my opinion) i´m german myself and everytime i hear the openings or OSTs , i just get happy and sing with it along, even after 20years of the first hearing.
personally I liked digimon more than pokemon and I saw up to digimon 1 to 5 but from there to go I don't know anything about anything, but digimon 5 if it was tremendous quite good XD
About your videos freezing like that. TH-cam does that if you watch videos back to back in fullscreen I think. If you take it out of full screen when switching to the next video that should stop happening. Now about my favorite anime of all time! Each season after adventure 02 is in different timelines from each other, and you can't capture digimon like you do pokemon. Well I mean you COULD, but they're not animals unlike pokemon, and are just people who come from another dimension with lives and sometimes whole ass jobs like owning restaurants and stuff. So there isn't a goal like becoming the "digimon master". Usually the goal is to not die, and see where we go from there.
Unfortunately, for digimon tri. The only thing they put their heart into was the animation. The story was a dumpster fire nostalgia cash grab. What a waste of potential smh
I don't mind Japanese songs but I don't understand the facastion towards them. I liked the songs but because I couldn't understand, I couldn't ever fully enjoy them like English songs.
I am from Latin America, therefore I grew up watching anime with Latin dubbing, and if there is something that I really appreciate to any deity out there, if it exists, it is that on this side of the world they have decided to dub the series directly from Japanese instead from English, when I heard the songs in Japanese for the first time, despite not understanding them, I was like "oh, how great" (with time I grew fonder of them, to such an extent that when I saw a video in memory of Koji Wada I couldn't avoid crying) on the other hand, when I heard the first opening in English, I was like "wtf?" (I listened to it because the movie, being an American invention, only found American songs) years later when I decided to listen to the other openings in English I couldn't help but laugh, like, how did digimon come to have fans in the United States? if my child self had heard them, I would have changed the channel Literally it is enough to search for videos of "digimon eng vs jp" to realize that the eng version takes away a lot of episity
@@drake09_8 I'm sorry to seem rude but what the fuck are you talking about the eng version taking away a lot of epicity when they were the main reason I got into Digimon in the first place. They gave me so much hypeness that I fell in love with Digimon wayy more than Pokemon. I understand that more people do prefer the jp version but you cannot diss the eng versions they were better for me.
@@MegaNikaNika oh don't worry, actually I myself feel like I sounded really rude (sorry if that's the case) And well, maybe episity was not the right word, after all from what I've heard and according to some other analysis video about the reason for the soundtrack of digimon eng, apparently it was to adapt more to the superhero series and others, but at least from my opinion, digimon eng removes "sentimentality" (? from some parts, and although I speak from ignorance for not having seen the series in English, just comparing memorable scenes is enough for me to say that no It causes the same thing, by removing such memorable and iconic tracks and replacing them with very generic songs, it just kills the atmosphere, maybe it's amazing if it's your first time watching it, but coming from a Japanese based dub, it's just very "ugh" , that and changes in the dialogues is what makes me say to digimon eng "nope" (it's the same thing that happens to me with digimon tamers latino, during the arc of going to the digimundo for some reason they used many regionalisms and Mexican sayings, which I didn't care much about them as a child, but when I rewatched the series I could only cringe) And just in case, I say all this more than anything to say that there are many reasons why many of us agree that the original version is simply superior to the English one, not because I want to change your tastes, it's completely fine if you prefer the english version ^^
@@drake09_8 I'm sorry but I don't understand what's so generic about the songs. I have seen lately some people have been saying that the english version of both pokemon and digimon intro being generic and not sounding like a pokemon/digimon song. I never get the feeling of generic from either.

The characters of Digimon Adventure Tri are the same characters from the very first opening just older now.
Thank you. I was thinking it, but wasn't sure.
@@mycupoftea_1I hated digimon adventure tri cause they killed tai and made the digidestin digimon forget their tamers
@@jjohnson2445spoiler of the spoiler: Tai didn't die (his teacher, on the other hand...) and the digimon recover their memories... Still, Tri was bad for many other reasons... Really sad, because it had so much potential and I had so many hopes for it... 😢
If you do end up watching, I recommend that you do Digimon Adventure 01, 02, Tri. those three are connect, and in my opinion, they are the best. (Mainly because I grew up watching Digimon, so I'm probably being biased.)
Tri is one of if not the worst season Digimon ever produced, what are you on about.
@@42Caio arguably Tamers, Adventure 1 and 2 are the best, so the first 3 seasons
01-02 and Kizuna. Thanks.
@@42Caioeveryone has a diffrent opinion just cause you think tri is bad, does not mean the guy/girl above you has to find it bad as well xd
That last one is a 'reboot' of the original show and there's a lot of good things about it even though there are some differences.
1) the characters have a much better connection with each other and there's no fillers
2) the characters have a much more 'direct' approach to interacting with digimon or the environment. For example the digimon tamers ACTUALLY try to fight alongside their digimon partners instead of just standing around
3) One big thing I love is the fact that this is probably the first time we've seen Digimon be able to digivolve into different evolution paths in an almost 'free' manner, different evolution paths were more 'rare' and usually when the leading protagonist's digimon has a 'dark evolution'.
That's a digivice.... that helps the Tamers evolve their digimon partner.
Fun fact digimon last evolution kizuna is real and it is a movie for the timeline is digimon adventure to digimon adventure 02 to digimon adventure tri to digimon last evolution kizuna. For digimon adventure 2022 is a reboot of digimon adventure story and digimon xros war first 2 season is about a war between 4 faction one of the faction is the villain's faction and the other 3 is the good guys and fusion digimon together for the third season is about hunting digimon to fusion them together to make a new digimon and fight digiquartz that want to rule both the digital world and real world
Bro did you type that while having a stroke? Your grammar became worse and worse.
Looks like an angel."
Plenty of Digimon are literally just " a person". There is no rule to how a Digimon looks like. XD
Great Video! Always Love Watching Peoples Reaction To Digimon For The First Time.
Btw, You Missed The Most Recent Digimon Opening "Digimon Ghost Game:FACTION"
Thank you. I thought the site I was looking at had all the openings. Looks like I was wrong.
My bad
Digimon Last Evolution make me cried so hard
4:51 "we might get some heat here" says he at the border of an active volcano
stuff that came to my mind as a german:
1. ein digimon wird dich begleiten... DER BESTE FREUND ALLER ZEITEN! ;')
2. es wird noch soviel geschehen, doch unsere reise muss weiter gehen! ;')
3. IRGENDWANN WERDEN DANN DEINE TRÄUME WAHR!
wait was that an edited version of the frontier opening? I don't remember having Kouji's brother in the opening
Yeah, it's edited. I guess whoever uploaded that video wanted to include Kōichi.
100% edited. Not even well.
Like man. They removed so many cool visuals of the actual opening just to show clips from the episodes.
Rip Wada Koji
It is a crime that you didn't see ghost game's op because faction (the song that was used for that anime) slapa so hard i regularly listen to it now
Kayanna: Fun fact about the Japan version of anime it's more lengthy and has extra bits than the english dub vers and I kinda like the english voice of the characters
He ones with the mechs is my personal favourite(and not for most people) because it gives my favourite concept
Fusion
brave heart and butterfly is one of the most iconic😁😁
Where are you getting "masters" from?
Digimon tamers is by far the best digimon season for me. I loved how dark it was
The main goal for the initial couple seasons of Digimon is mainly, them getting dragged into the digital world and trying not to die
You should definitely watch the series in sub next. You'll probably enjoy it.
Hm, fair and valid points and opinions.
I wonder what you might think of Ghost Game’s Opening?
You actually missed an opening, the playlist was probably created before the Season aired, but Digimon Ghost Game is the most recent series
He created the playlist
ur missing Ghost Game opening
woudl love to hear you also react to Brave heart and Break up not as familiar with tamers and frontiers digivolution themes but advernture and 02's themes kick butt!
Break Up is good. But Beat Hit tho.
its crazy to me that people expect like nothing from digimon when it rivals one piece in toei's eyes
Any chance you'd check out the jp yugioh openings?
If your interested in knowing about digimon I recommend billiams digimon retrospective videos
Oh? Is it time for me to dive into the digimon lore?
Thank you for the suggestion. I'm adding it to the list.
I guess no one drop this fact yet, the strongest digimon in the digi verse is masaru daimon
i dont know if you would be interested, but you could try out the Same openings in German, they poured their Blood into the Voice (in my opinion)
i´m german myself and everytime i hear the openings or OSTs , i just get happy and sing with it along, even after 20years of the first hearing.
i still listen to the german songs all the damn time because the singers voice just goes so damn hard
@@schobii5643 yes, absolutly, its childhood for me to listen to them
last one was from the latest movie for digimon that came, I think
Listen to the Digimon anniversary, it's awesome
personally I liked digimon more than pokemon and I saw up to digimon 1 to 5 but from there to go I don't know anything about anything, but digimon 5 if it was tremendous quite good XD
Usually the goal is to not die, and see where we go from there.
im still wondering why nobody adds digimon ghost game to the op reacts since it came out in 2023 so it isnt that new
Yay yay
no ghost game you missed the newest season that's been out 2 years
Damn he missed Digimon ghost game
Du musst die Deutschen intro’s anhören sind 1:1 wie das original aus Japan.
you missed ghost game
Unfortunately, for digimon tri. The only thing they put their heart into was the animation. The story was a dumpster fire nostalgia cash grab. What a waste of potential smh
I don't mind Japanese songs but I don't understand the facastion towards them. I liked the songs but because I couldn't understand, I couldn't ever fully enjoy them like English songs.
It's really the melody and the vocals for me. I also enjoy other Japanese songs not tied to anime.
I am from Latin America, therefore I grew up watching anime with Latin dubbing, and if there is something that I really appreciate to any deity out there, if it exists, it is that on this side of the world they have decided to dub the series directly from Japanese instead from English, when I heard the songs in Japanese for the first time, despite not understanding them, I was like "oh, how great" (with time I grew fonder of them, to such an extent that when I saw a video in memory of Koji Wada I couldn't avoid crying) on the other hand, when I heard the first opening in English, I was like "wtf?" (I listened to it because the movie, being an American invention, only found American songs) years later when I decided to listen to the other openings in English I couldn't help but laugh, like, how did digimon come to have fans in the United States? if my child self had heard them, I would have changed the channel
Literally it is enough to search for videos of "digimon eng vs jp" to realize that the eng version takes away a lot of episity
@@MegaNikaNika oh don't worry, actually I myself feel like I sounded really rude (sorry if that's the case)
And well, maybe episity was not the right word, after all from what I've heard and according to some other analysis video about the reason for the soundtrack of digimon eng, apparently it was to adapt more to the superhero series and others, but at least from my opinion, digimon eng removes "sentimentality" (? from some parts, and although I speak from ignorance for not having seen the series in English, just comparing memorable scenes is enough for me to say that no It causes the same thing, by removing such memorable and iconic tracks and replacing them with very generic songs, it just kills the atmosphere, maybe it's amazing if it's your first time watching it, but coming from a Japanese based dub, it's just very "ugh" , that and changes in the dialogues is what makes me say to digimon eng "nope" (it's the same thing that happens to me with digimon tamers latino, during the arc of going to the digimundo for some reason they used many regionalisms and Mexican sayings, which I didn't care much about them as a child, but when I rewatched the series I could only cringe)
And just in case, I say all this more than anything to say that there are many reasons why many of us agree that the original version is simply superior to the English one, not because I want to change your tastes, it's completely fine if you prefer the english version ^^
@@drake09_8 I'm sorry but I don't understand what's so generic about the songs. I have seen lately some people have been saying that the english version of both pokemon and digimon intro being generic and not sounding like a pokemon/digimon song. I never get the feeling of generic from either.
