Unlike Pokemon where it's evolution is somewhat biological so their is a clear path on how they get there, Digimon on the other hand is determined by the data they take in and because of that Digimons have multiple evolution lines and new lines of Digimon can also appear because there's new data uploaded into the net.
Oh yeah he didn't go into what was going on with izzy so basically when Izzy was little he overheard a conversation his parents were having and found out he's adopted at a young age and so he's really awkward with them (they don't know he knows)
@@mycupoftea_1 the conversation he overheard was specifically the one where they agreed to not tell him. They didn't want him to feel unloved or to not think that he was their child, but it completely backfires because he now knows and doesn't understand why they would withold it from him (as he's quite young there). He becomes very distant as a result.
No, thats BomberNanimon, the regular Nanimon its actually a Tamagochi that somehow made it to the Digital World and trained to be buff so he could survive there
I'll be honest this and the anime lore just about scratches the very most surface layer of the lore. It's insane just how much lore this series has. There has been bits and pieces added to so many different media over the years. Even the card game and the art reference books add lore. Every series outside of the ones with Adventure in the title are in different universes but they are all connected. It's kind of like a multiverse at base level but we also know that the multiverse that we know is just one server of the Digital world. So there are multiple Digital worlds, with their own respective real world. Each one of these Digital worlds is part of a Server, this server consists of an infinite number of potential digital worlds with their own real world attached to them. Then outside of that there is the entire Digital world which consists of an unknown number of servers each as big as the server where all of the Digimon media that we have up to now has taken place. There is also realms that exist sort of between the worlds like the internet, the net ocean, the dark zone, Eden, what ever the dimensional plain that the eaters come from. If we go even deeper into it, each digital world has multiple layers with different rules and dimensional axis's. There is the under level below the digital world mentioned in Tamers that existed before the Digital world and acts as the foundation for the data that became the digital world to form on. I could honestly go on for literal days there is that much lore lol I love this series. On a side note it's really not as kid friendly as a lot of people seem to think. It has it's dark side, Tamers got DEEP and not to mention Digimon Survive, that game is seriously DARK.
Yeah, there is a lot and I love it. Digimon could be bigger if they can figure out how to use this technology age we're in to the show's advantage. The best thing about Digimon is that it will always be in style as long as advanced technology is around. There could be a lot done to play around with that.
Aww hell ye loved those Billiam videos about Digimon. Besides Inazuma Eleven and Dragonball, Digimon is one of my fav shonen anime. It shares a lot of similarities with Inazuma in that the focus is neither on the world or magical power things (even though these elements are in the show and are very cool), but instead about the kids, their feelings and trauma and how they will deal with both with the help of the new bonds they make. I friggn love both Inazuma and Digimon for those reasons. Inazuma takes a bit until season 2 to get there just, but when it does I think it's a little better than Digimon, but it still has so many things that make it uniquely loveable. The great designs, interesting spin on "trapped in another world" setting, over the top shit and genuinely great writing from time to time. I just love children shows that teach people how to deal with depression lmao. Sadly later Digimon seasons moved away from that and focused more on the lore and designs and stuff. Btw Digimon Adventure has a crazy good german dub imo lmao And dude Gabumon is the best digimon ever. It has such a cute design and great personality in the anime, sick ass champion form and his ultra form Weregarurumon is imo the sickest design in the show. Or at least among top 5
I think it's rare to see children show have dark themes like depression in them. I thought Digimon was about kids battling with each other using their Digimon in a fun manor. Did not expect the show to be way deeper than that. I just looked up Weregarurumon. That is a really slick design. Now that you mentioned German dub, there's one thing I want to do for 2024. I always watch anime in English and Japanese, but I don't know how animes sound in other languages. I'm curious how the voice actors sound on certain shows.
@@mycupoftea_1 Haha, well I think the German voices are pretty much as good as the japanese dub, but are a bit less cartoonish when it comes to the digimon themselves. Not that shit isn't goofy as well, but the actors don't really put on voices and instead just kinda speak and act naturally, which is a subjective thing, but it helped me to be more invested in the Digimon as characters rather than cartoon sidekicks (Same is true for the japanese dub btw). Especially Gabumon's German actor did a great job imo. This dude can transform into a giant metal wolf with rocket launcher, yet they chose a voice actor with a very gentle and calm voice and it gives Gabumon so much character. Bc no matter how strong he gets, Gabumon's main traits are that he is just a very mindful, calm and kind dork. Someone, who is very mindful of other people's feelings and his love for the ones around him is far greater of a character trait than any of his superhuman abilities, so him having such a soft spoken actor in the German dub was a perfect choice, despite how much it clashes with his visual apperiance. Japanese voice actor is a bit more sassy, but I still like him very much. Just slightly prefer the German one. There's a scene in episode 51, where Matt and Gabumon are stuck in a cave, where Matt has to confront who he is as a person and Gabumon's speech always gets me to tears man lol. Scene is also very beautiful in japanese. Both dubs are equally good I guess, but since I speak German I gravitate towards that dub lol. But I doubt you will find the German dub with English subs sadly, so I'd still recommend it in japanese. English dub sadly destroys a lot of the emotional beats of the story. I'm very glad the German version simply translated the songs instead of making their own haha. The german version of the Digimon songs were pretty dope, but they pale to the German version of the first One Piece OP. This one was completely original and I think it's still my favorite One Piece opening lmao. Maybe you should react to that one some day
Digimon has been a part of my life for 25 years and I'm still just as in awe about it as I was when I first saw it back in 1999. There is something so special about this show. It only gets better as the characters get older. You have a while before you catch up to where it[Digimon] is today.
Eventually we get an answer to who the original digidestined were in the movies Digimon Adventure Tri.( Which they shortened into a series with multiple parts), Digimon Adventure Last Evolution and Digimon Adventure The Beginning.
Oh dangs that's my old tag happy to see you finally get to these I have a special place in my heart especially for all it's faults does at least try to be faithful i have nostalgia for dubscore but i will agree hey digimon kinda ruins every scene it's in
I apologies for not watching it earlier, but I'm glad I was able to get to one of the seasons. I don't know who decided it was a good idea to play that "hey digimon" song in intense scenes. And that Digimon rap too... You fans had it rough 😅
@@mycupoftea_1 At least for fans in other languages, they translated/remade the songs completely so they are their own version of the original. I grew up with the German ones, so I like them the most (also Frank Schwindel has just the best voice for that). Maybe that would be a good starting point, as back then, many anime openings were translated for dubs.
Nah dude, Ghost Story was actually popular, the guy who was put in charge of the dub made up the story about it not being successful, it actually was successful and the Ghost Story dub was surprisingly faithful to the original, they just added adult inappropriate jokes in, but the overall story still kept the same. Digimon english dub on the other hand, they almost 4kids’d it, but it wasn’t as bad as 4kids
@@mycupoftea_1 Season 3's dub isn't bad at all (in my opinion) but season 1 and 2 is filled to the brim with jokes and loud 'rock/pop' music to make it seem 'hip' with the kids. Serious scenes would often be crippled by them making constant jokes, for example the season finale villain makes references to pizza crust. Also they cut out anything too violent or dark; the Digimon movie was the worst offender. 3 separate movies smashed into 1 with horrid editing and the story was all over the place. Personally I feel season 3 and onward they learned better, but the first two were rough. And this is coming from someone who loves the first two seasons and feels nostalgic with all it's janky music choices and stupid jokes. XD

The Digimon at 18:30 you were talking about is Nanimon, he is a living Bomb digimon.
No, thats BomberNanimon, the regular Nanimon its actually a Tamagochi that somehow made it to the Digital World and trained to be buff so he could survive there
Digimon season 3 gets even darker, touching on things like suicide, despression, despair, desperation and loss.
18:15, thats literally a Tamagotchi that somehow jumped multiverses into the digimon world. He's got some fun lore to look up. His name is Nanimon.
Tamagotchi is digimon's origin
They even have the same written language
Why is tamagotchi a fictional species
Hehe Oyajitchi.
Ninjamon too

I completely agree U.S. dubbed kids anime is the king of needles censorship
I wish I checked out Digimon as a kid. I probably would have watched most of the seasons.
The lengths America went to censoring animes is impressive.
@@mycupoftea_1 but digimon wasn’t as heavily censored as other kids anime at its time.
@@dwainsimmons3447 This is true. Digimon was raw and wasn't apologetic about the setting being in Japan either. That was rare at that point in time.
