Fixing a busted harbor freight cement mixer

- A good friend let me have this mixer for the retaining wall project I’m working on. Only has a couple issues, check out how we get them straightened out and the ridiculous way of cleaning out the concrete on the inside.

small sledge on the out side works well with fully cured cement. really like your videos.

I have a mixer like yours same issue Got free but needs a sprocket what is the part number and where did you get it Awesome info
The keyway is the slots that are cut in the shaft. The piece that slides in is the key. An M80 firecracker is the fast way to clean a mixer.

Another way to let rid of the concrete inside the drum is to hit it on the outside with a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer.

Bang on the outside with a hammer and then leave gravel running in it for at least an hour. Clean as a whistle!

@@CaptainKleeman well actually the whole saying that we used at the firehouse is, if it's free, it's for me, except for herpes, nobody wants free herpes, but to answer your question no I haven't made a tee shirt yet. Lol

Classic kleeman, found this in the archive. Did you ever get the mixer cleaned out or just use it as is. If so what worked best.
Tom Bixby kind of cleaned it out. Got the blades cleaned anyway. Seemed to work well for what I needed it for.
Something purchased at Horrible Freight broke? I find it hard to believe ( it worked at all) such a thing.

Can’t get the handle to move that swings the drum around. It will unlatch from the grooves but the drum won’t move. What could it be?
Possible concrete caught up in the bearings.

Kirk Wilson well...since I didn’t buy it...seems worth it right? 😂😂. It’s done it’s job for my retaining wall project so I’m calling it a success.
