Battles between the micro world and and macro world are always amusing.

Although I loved what was talked about here, the cinematography was rather distracting. There's no reason for so many cuts after every sentence of dialogue. And when George Church was talking right at the 1:30 mark, why have him in the bottom right side of the screen? If you're going to do that, at least make him face the other direction. Otherwise it just makes everything very claustrophobic and impersonal. The angle that you filmed at during those few seconds didn't help either. Now you're having people comment on the size of his hands when I'm sure they're not that big.

this ought to be a touchy subject... mother nature does this quite well but us humans have halted that process to a great extent and is now seeing its effects

    *Targeted Genetic Cures*
The future of medicine, we can only hope. Thankfully in the EU and the UK especially the mood is mostly positive and we are pouring huge amounts of funds into genetic research.

Is this channel now run by the BBC?

With James may on before I am pretty sure it was 'run' by the BBC. I think the dealo is that headsqueeze has access to BBC assets as long as it isn't too out of their way.

James is the reason I subbed and his videos are more humorous, it's still an interesting channel though

Is anyone reminded of the Star Trek the Next Generation episode where kids are genetically engineered to be extremely resistant to diseases, but they end up causing fatal complications to everyone around them?
Not saying that would happen now, but its something to think about.

Hmmn.. Did you watch long enough to hear him discuss how the experimental trial system is supposed to work (not that the numbers don't get fudged here and there), or was that what triggered your thought?

Keep in mind that Nature already performs these tasks. It's just that the mortality rate to achieve the end-point is unacceptable.

Changing your DNA, wouldn't that result in cancer? Since cancer itself is the result of change/mistakes in DNA...?

I'm sure this is entertaining to some, but, I miss the cartoony, comedic and witty ways of explaining intelligent things...
