- Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share with you this new around the house happenings video! I cleaned out the pantry and did a nice pantry clean out / pantry tidyI shared with you what I made for dinner as a nice quick and easy weeknight mean for the family that was also macro friendly. Then I did a general tidy of the house because it neede dmy attention. nothing 'special' today just a typical day in my life as I do the regular every day mom things as a homemaker and around the house! hope it gave you some motivation to get something done / clean something in your home today too!

I i like Alex's 'stache! I honestly think he would look fantastic with a goatee! His facial hair seems to grow in thick and I think a nice full, thick goatee would really suit him and set off his face!
Now to talk about your little man .... oh my goodness Kim, he is absolutely precious! Always trying to help mom out, working hard in the laundry room to clean out the lint trap, even pushing past you in the pantry to get to whatever needed doing in the corner .... he is just the sweetest and his bedhead after his nap almost brought me to tears remembering my little towhead, fresh from a sleep, stretching out those little arms and legs until his tummy would pop out from under his soft PJ top - always covered in dinosaurs or "twucks", balling up those little chubby hands into a fist and rubbing his eyesand finally pushing himself up into a seated position, beautiful blond hair sticking out in every direction and shouting out, "I'm waked up now, wanna pway somepin witme?" ...... oh my how I miss those days! I admit, I don't miss the "velcro-baby" part/stage but I do miss the pure magic of his world, how something so simple or commonplace could be so fascinating (like Wolfgang cleaning the toilet), and I absolutely miss those baby hugs & kisses (usually given with great enthusiasm, almost knocking me over)!!!
Thank you for sharing your lives with us! Thanks for the wonderful memory triggers, for the smiles & laughter but most of all thank you for just being yourself, real .... and honest! I do indeed enjoy and am very grateful for this TH-cam friendship with you! Wishing you joy sweetheart - the kind that seemingly comes so naturally from you to others .... the kind you always bring to me! ❤❤❤

Be careful with gel polish off Amazon! It doesn’t affect everyone negatively, but it made me develop an allergy to all gel polish now 😢 I’ve heard of that happening to quite a few other people as well.

Wolfgang cracks me up... When he is in the laundry room with you and pulls out the filter AND the lint, when he is in the pantry with you ON A LADDER. You are not paying attention which makes it more funnier. His hair color is SO adorable! Arlene

I always peel my gel nails and it weakened my nails so much! I know it takes forever for the proper peel but its better to get them off properly 😊
Just came to share that I live in North Dakota and just went through a cold snap of -60° with windchill 😅 But it is so different for everyone depending on what you're used to! I can tell you, this ND girl never stands a chance in the Florida summer heat!
Uncooked potatos are toxic to everyone. However most would have to consume more than one. My friend told me that after I let dogs carry raw potatoes around, they maybe took bite or 2 at a time... they are fine still.
The plant along with tomatoes are part of nightshade family though so don't give them the plant for sure. 😊

Kim, the electric canner is not like an instant pot. It's a presto, so look at a electric presto canner. Or get a stove top which is much cheaper and follow the directions in the Canning book
Prepping your nails correctly will make your gel last longer. Wash your hands making sure you don't have lotion or any other product on your nails, and dehydrate before applying the gel
Loved watching Wolfgang clean out the lint from the dryer. So cute!! I miss Once Upon a Child. I always got great boutique and good name brand clothes there and at moms group sales in our area. I enjoyed the video.

I agree, I am also from Chicago. You guys have the damp cold that goes through the bones. We have the dry cold!
Be careful with the rotten potatoes. There was a family in Russia where everyone except the 8-year-old girl died as they went down into the cellar and were overcome by the gases from the rotten potatoes.
Time flies, your kiddos have grown so much. I personally don’t like mustaches, however my hubby has a goatee so…. It does look good on him though. I think kids tend to end up liking a lot of the same food parents like so maybe that’s why they aren’t a fan of tomatoes. Food for thought lol.

My youngest is 14 so I no longer have quiet evenings. But I'm sure I will miss the craziness one day

just in case, check your cross-wave for a blue spiral self cleaning button. It took us a year to figure out you could run a self-clean cycle.
Gah, I went to Florida the beginning of January 2020 thinking it would be on the cooler side. Good lord, the humidity hit me like a wall walking out of the airport. Thought I was going to die of a heat stroke! 😂

Pro tip, don’t store potatoes and onions together. Knock off the sprouts periodically. They will last longer.

Did those sweet potato scraps go in that strawberry container for your chickens? I usually use a strawberry container for our chicken scraps, that’s why I ask 😆 How are you chickies doing? Are they laying eggs yet? Can we get some chick pics? 😂

Hi Kim. I recommend you store your open chocolate syrup in the fridge. It took me years to figure out what was making my son randomly sick. Turns out, it was the chocolate syrup his grandparents stored in the cabinet instead of the fridge. They thought they were giving him a treat but they were actually giving him moldy syrup in his chocolate milk. You can’t see it because the bottle is dark and the squirt top keeps the mold from exiting the bottle. Just a friendly FYI for whoever might not know.
I always put my pancake syrup in the fridge. I had a friend ask me why I did that. I told her---ants. I do get them.
My husband's friend and his wife kept maple syrup in their cabinet, and one day he made french toast. He grabbed the syrup out of the cabinet and not seeing them, he actually ate a few ants when he realized they had crawled into the bottle. Yup...

I put my pancakes syrup and chocolate syrup in fridge didn't now why just something my mom did so I do it too. I can't ask her why because she passed away years ago
Chocolate syrup actually says on the bottle, "refrigerate after opening".

Hi Kim, one thing that might help with the potatoes is taking them out of the plastic bag they come in (if you want to continue keeping them in the pantry). Put them in a paper bag, I swear it makes a huge difference for us!

Potoatoes and onions are suppose to be in a cool, dry place. They are also suppose to be removed from the plastic bag, it causes condensation. Try removing them and putting them in a basket see if that helps.

Edited to add: the "Nick Cage 'stach" on Alex! Love it. But the family sitting at the table for dinner brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful. So many families don't do that. As a kid, my single father of 4, had supper on the table every night at 6. You better be there!
Wolfgang removing the lint from the lint trap is the cutest thing I've seen this week. I had a premonition of you two in the future and Wolfgang is 6'2" tall helping you with laundry.

Hey Kim, I wanted to let you know how much joy your videos bring me. I have a 6 month old and 3 year old, I have struggled with the transition from 1 kid to 2… after my second baby was born I was struggling with PPD. I’m doing much better now after lots of Jesus, a little bit of therapy, and watching your videos. Your videos always make me laugh and I swear I’m in a better mood and a better mom after I watch them. Thank you for being real and a role model for me.

My favorite is watching Wolfgang undo what you just did. Remember when my kids were little and it felt like all efforts were pointless sometimes. I love your videos and how real you are. I still have all my kids home, but they are 9, 12, 14. Which comes with different challenges. Less physical and more mental and emotional.

Any pot can be used for waterbath canning as long as it's tall enough. You canNOT pressure can in an instant pot, so don't confuse the two different processes. An electric pressure canner is up your alley and easy to use (about $120), but make sure you understand the difference between boiling jars (waterbath canning) and pressure canning jars in equipment made for pressure canning.

Kim i know you watch becky @ acre homestead, she uses both water bath canning for acidic stuff and pressure canning - both stove top AND electric pressure canners. The electric pressure canner she uses might be great for you as you can set it and forget it rather than watching a stove top version like a hawk the entire time. However Becky also has an instant pot and it is very different from her electric pressure canner.
There is a new specific instapot you can use as a pressure canner. It only holds 4 pints, it works for us.
Yes old fashioned water bath canning! BIG pot and jar tongs- you can do it Kim!

Ok, I’m all for men having facial hair. My husband has a full beard. I read once that a beard is like a push up bra for men 😁. However! I’m hating the trendy stache only thing that’s going around! It reminds me of like a French adult film maker or something, but clearly I’m in the minority cuz all the young men are embracing it.

My heater comes on at 67 degrees. I m in the high desert of calif and its 30 degrees this morning. Love the mustache!!!!Gel nails and the dryer ruined my nails. Took a year to get them back to normal!
Hi Kim. Love you and your videos. Please don't peel off the gel polish. Over time this can peel off your nails and make them very thin! I was guilty of this too.t hey make a gel nail polish remover that you can paint on and it makes it easy to scrape off. Look into it. Also, with proper prep and execution your nails can last for 3 weeks!
Hi Kim! Avid canner here. There are no instant pots that are safe to can in. There are a few electric pressure coolers (Presto) is one of them. None of them have been independently tested yet to ensure they meet the safety requirements for canning low acid food. I recommend buying a presto 23 qt stovetop canner. It's good quality and way cheaper than all American. And you can use it as a large stockpot or use it to water bath can in as well. ❤
