EXPECTED BIRDS AT THESE FEEDERS IN WINTER...
    --Black-capped Chickadee
    --Red-breasted Nuthatch
--White-breasted Nuthatch (more unusual than Red-breasted)
    --Downy Woodpecker
    --Hairy Woodpecker
    --Pileated Woodpecker
--Northern Shrike (eats small birds at feeder, or voles below feeders)
--Canada Jay (on suet only; formerly Gray Jay)
    --Blue Jay
--American Goldfinch (only a few this winter)
--Pine Siskin (only a few this winter)
--Redpoll (lots around in the woods, but not many at feeders yet; will come in late winter)
--Evening Grosbeak (many at other feeders; only sporadic here)
--Pine Grosbeak (this is a low year for them since they have plenty of food up on their Canadian breeding grounds)
--White-winged Crossbill (rarely come to feeders, but a couple were coming to this set up earlier)
Purple Finch (very common this year; few adult males; remember that the brown ones can be females or young males)
    VERY UNUSUAL POSSIBILITIES...
--Ruffed Grouse (one sighting so far), Common Raven, Brown Creeper, Boreal Chickadee (we are a bit too far from bog for them; if seen it would be on suet or rib cage), Northern Saw-whet Owl (one night so far), Boreal Owl (none yet)
    MAMMALS
    --Red Squirrel
--Ermine (white-pelaged winter phase of Short-tailed Weasel)
--Flying Squirrel (could be either Northern or Southern)
    --White-tailed Deer
