I used to be a FLAC and foobar fanatic.
However, the thing is that its so nice to just be able to continue where you left off when you're at your desktop, listening at the gym and listening in the car.
If foobar could link with your phone that would be legendary and I would never pay another month of bullshit music service

I'm a hardcore Winamp fan that had never used ANYTHING different ever since 1997 or so. Recently, I discovered that Foobar 2000 has a file integrity component, that is a much needed feature for me.
Then I came here and saw the Xenogears CD cover, and Metal & Videogame music was immediately mentioned... I am subscribed now. Xenogears has been one of my very fav. games; I have always wanted to read the whole Xenosaga. Metal is 95% of what I listen to. I think this cannel will be my most-visited one from now on.

been using this theme for the longest time now, and I have no complaints with it.
This didn't work for the 64bit version - if like me you're having issues, try the 32 bit version and you should be sweet!
the 32bit version is a bit sluggish
its only a matter of time before you cant even buy digital albums anymore, everything is going to be subscription based

@Goopy Le Grande but only the music you can’t really acquire elsewhere from small artists. The vast majority of music is only really streamed, so if it isn’t being bought now why would it go back to being bought in the future?
The trend is vinyl is growing faster then streaming. Just watch the news. The Beatles became no. 1 again because of vinyl sales. Steaming has been around a long time, it would have happened already if it were to happen.
It is not the new kid on the block. Books are also coming back. Even when I do Amazon prime free trial I do not bother using the streaming app it is just too boring.
People still like to buy and hold something it is in our human nature.
I mean when streaming started 15 years ago I was its biggest fan. But you slowly shift out of it, when I could not find a song. Listening to music is too individual. People find cracks init then they realise I am not listening to music.
I mean just look at the visualizations in this theme. They are quite cool - mind blowing. This guy just quietly put them on and he does not even mention it.
Though in the old days before vinyl people would buy the sheet music. People still do this not just piano music, but guitar tabs. People want to play the songs themselves.

Not true. Look at Kanye, Pharrell Williams, Curtis King… the future is creating an unstreamable experience. Normies will catch on eventually like they always do.

dude the portable tip was so nice. i never really thought about how annoying it is to indulge in those default install options when i only use one windows account in reality. tldr i don't want random little files in a random hidden folder.
I've used foobar2k for 2 days now, Amazing , 0 frustration, I can play my Flac/32b-96kHz no problems, also natively convert 'em to AIFF and import 'em to my iPod.

Custom keyboard shortcuts also are so helpful because you can set them to "global", which allows you to use them even when foobar is minimized.
Personally I like to have shortcuts to move a few seconds forward/backwards when I want to listen to a specific part of the song, I can do that while I'm playing games or doing something else without switching to the foobar window. 😄

couldn't find profile folder
You can use other winamp visualizations too😊. But just the new ones, i only got a couple of old ones to work. Though i tried Sound Spectrum visualizations which you have to buy which i installed on winamp so i could play them foobar but it does not work that well because it pops up in a window and not in foobar.
Though the included visualizations i quite cool for this theme. Though i cheated i used another program to help me find the art work and fix my tabs a little.
Though the library in foobar is missing some albums from my DVD Audio folder.
But it did find my music folder of a group of mp4 that i download from yt like many years ago. Why? Because the music videos contained song translations. I had completely forgotten about this folder untill this theme found it. Nothing is perfect but this theme is close if you pro and con this theme on the see saw.😅
For anyone like me who prefers standard install and can't find your "Profile" folder. Copy and paste the Eole, plugin and theme folders here.... C/Users/*Your name*/AppData/Roaming/foobar2000

So apparently if you move files on the hard drive, it keeps the old path and doesnt update... so my library is now full of albums not working and i can't find where to reset the cache properly lol (nevermind i found it, need to delete file in \profile\playlists-v1.4)

lol, I have used this program for years but I wanted to add bpm then I ran across your theme video from 9 years back and then I saw this one so I watched it first but now I need to watch that one because I have a lot of music and sounds that I use to create videos as well as playlist for my stream , pre stream, start, and ending. I knew this was a great program but now I have to explore how much more I can get out of this program.
Imagine if Foobar2000 is open source and a native Linux support (though you can technically use WINE). It'll be even more customizatable. I always see this program as the Linux of audio player.
I like foobar but what's the point when musicbee exists? Not so great tagging, less customization/plugins & the lack of an inbox kills it for me.
yeah I'm using musicbee now because this eole skin doesn't have multiple genre tag feature. musicbee has that.
Just tried musicbee, tried this skin called Dark W10, and milkdrop visualizer. I still prefer fb2k + eole. But yeah maybe I just dont care about tagging/plugins... musicbee has more feature and really nice interface for new user tho.
DarkOne theme still the best skin for foobar but i want to change because it is outdated. That skin looks nice...

Followed your instructions to the T. Like the simple interface (love the winamp visualization, I sure missed it until now. many thnx!), I notice that a few of my "Various Artists" albums foobar2k separates the tracks by single artist. Is there a workaround for this to keeping the album together?
Maybe if you change the artist name to various artists title using a tag program. It should be able to do all songs in one go. The title of the song may contain the artist name.
So you keep 2 versions of the various albums, one tagged with no artist name and the original album with the tagged artist.

After downloading Foobar and Eole, then running it I immediately get an error "Failed to load dll...." and it lists 7 different files. Help!
I had the same issue and I tried installing it in 32bit and it worked
I've tried to install this and all I got from es lyrics to ColumnsUI all errors
This just caused Foobar to crash every single time I open it now. The problem started after selecting the columns UI from the Eole folder. I guess I will need to uninstall and start over.

You can use other winamp visualizations. I have a couple of sound spectrum visualizations that I bought, may try to use the vst plugin to install? Not sure if it will work but I will try like soft skies a more modern visualization. Nerd heaven❤.

I thought this theme looked really nice so i tried it out, but by the time i got it installed its framerate was so slow (like just navigating around dropped it to like 10 fps) and it freezes every 30 seconds. Very dissapointing, but maybe I did something wrong? or does it not work as well with newer versions?
