    Currently on sertraline 25mg for my anxiety and ocd. I’m 34 years old and I can truly say that it has helped me immensely, I’ve had only positive thoughts. I’m the happiest I have ever been in my whole entire life. My mind is finally calm and quiet. 🙏

    I started taking 50 MG in late (dec 2019) after having a burnout from work and the pressures of life. I still felt somewhat sad, and had some bad thoughts (against myself) so she upped my dose to 100Mg, and after that I went through the Pandemic, a divorce, and a few other challenges and none of these thoughts came back!
    I’m a christian, and strongly believe in medicine, since in my opinion, God blessed humans with knowledge to develop medicine, in other to help and cure certain conditions.
    I hope one day I don’t need to take it, but will do as long as its needed

      Thank you for this post Lucas. I am a newly devoted christian and I have been struggling with depression and anxiety heavily as of recent. It's affecting my day to day life and i was recommended this by my doctor. I was hesitant on taking it because I feel guilty on taking this as a christian but your comment made realize that medicine is a gift from god and decided to go through with it. Update: I bumped to 50mg one month then to 75mg the next month you have to be able to find your perfect medium, I noticed that I would get kinda irritable when it was not working for me. Now that I’m on 75mg I feel like this is my perfect medium and keeping it this way I’m not bumping up anymore. Not everyone is the same so you have to pay attention to how you feel, to know what you feel is best for you. And don’t be scared to ask for a higher or lower dose. It’s really ok. I’m a mom of two young boys and a wife. Irritability is a big no no in my life. We got to be positive and strive to get better for ourselves.

    I'm 31 years old and on Day 4 of 25mg loading. I felt it within the first hour of taking it (I also spared no time after getting the prescription and took it at 12 noon). I feel like I can actively think for myself now versus being perpetually bombarded with multiple thoughts at once. I find that I'm also responding emotionally quicker to my thoughts, which makes me feel more present in my own body. The anxiety that lived primarily in my solar plexus caused tightness and shallow breathing, but on Zoloft, I can recognize when I would typically be having a lot of anxiety there and now it feels loose; it is a different sensation. I 100% prefer the burpiness I have now over the rigidness I had in my gut before lol. As I told my doctor, I never ever thought I'd be interested in anti-anxiety medication, but sometimes we don't choose what we experience in life, and it has been such a huge help in a little matter of time.

    I've been on Sertraline for 4 years now and I've been on the same dosage (75 mg) for about 2 years now and it finally isnt working to its full anymore. My doctor prescribed a higher dosage (100mg) and I've been terrified to start taking it now.. HOPEFULLY this video will help me understand there isnt anything to be afraid/anxious about.

    I been on 50mg a day since I was 18. I'm 21 now. 1 thing I've noticed us how it effects recreational drugs. It makes me smoke more weed as you don't feel stoned on sertraline. I feel sick if I drink alcohol on sertraline, but it helps with come downs. After a weekend on mdma, a sertraline gets rid of the come down, completely gets rid of out. Think it replaces the chemicals the mdma uses up.

    Just started taking Zoloft 50mg, it has improved my mood quite a bit, noticing an increase of general energy and better quality of sleep, less general depression symptoms. Though my bad thoughts are still there and my memory has begun to deteriorate at an unexpectedly high level, learning new things in school is becoming nigh impossible, and that was partly the reason I began to use Zoloft in the first place. Last year of high school and semester is almost up, I'm afraid that I'll have ruined any chances I could have if I don't fix these issues soon.

    • @PixelLife101
      @PixelLife101 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Yes, depression can be caused by bad brain chemistry. IE if you take MDMA too often or too much you can overstimulate your receptors or use up your serotonin reserve (though this builds back in a week typically). Supposedly bad diets can affect your mood too, which wouldn't be surprising since the serotonin has to be produced out of the nutrients we eat. Though its dubious to say how effective a diet could be or even a supplement could be.

      Concentration gradient , if there is low concentration of serotonin in the synapse , serotonin will be released , if there is enough serotonin a reverse feedback mechanism will decrease the serotonin by sending it back or destroying it but if you have depression your brain has poor detection of serotonin concentrations, so no serotonin may be released even if it’s too low
