    LA & NY: As with any foods, we got the best Vietnamese food outside Vietnam.

      Rockstar Eater New York has the worst Vietnamese food.
      Should be Orange County, San Jose and Houston

      NY has some of the worst viet food in the country. Places like Denver, Atlanta, Chicago and DC have way better viet food than NYC.

      Yeah sorry, Toronto region is pretty damn good and covers more regional Vietnamese cuisine than anywhere in California that I’ve tried (albeit only Silicon Valley and San Diego). Looking forwards to trying LA because I can’t find the dishes I loved in Canada down here in SD nor SV. Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario alone has a half dozen Viet restos better than every place I’ve tried in California

    People don't believe me when I tell them that there's a Pho house on every corner in Houston with at least 2 nail salons on the same strip. The Vietnamese are a big part of Htown.

      Yep. Almost. Boba tea, nail salons, Vietnamese Cajun crawfish is the best. Vietnamese iirc is like the third most spoken language in Texas. There is a long history of Vietnamese in Texas, especially the gulf coast area.

      tbh, the foods there are unauthentic, overpriced, and crappy. 3/10. I was blown away by how bad it is coming from a MasterChef winner.

    32 years ago, I lived off Bellaire! The Vietnamese food was incredible back then! Even way back then, the largest Vietnamese population outside of Vietnam was in Houston!
    I'm in Northern Michigan now, but get back to Houston whenever I can! 💜💜💜🤩

      ate my first Vietnamese food in Houston in 1979 somewhere off Westheimer in the River Oaks area....fell in love and still loving it. lived in New Orleans for 10 years, large Viet community there, tons of great food, and they bake the best bread in NOLA

    I love Vietnamese food. I used to only order pho, but in recent years, I’ve made it a goal to be more spontaneous with my palate. I’ve been straying from ordering pho & trying a new dish when I dine in Vietnamese restaurants. Been loving every single dish I’ve tried so far!

    I really have a love/hate relationship with these food videos. They are cool ways of learning about dishes I didn't know about, but they also leave me very hungry - even after I've just eaten a full meal.

    A big reason Viet food is so good in H-town is because there are so many people who are still coming from Vietnam and going to Houston. If they aren't in a nail shop, they in a restaurant

    pho hoa noodle soup - North Houston diamond in a rough area. Get the Dry Rice noodles With bone broth on the side with morrow. Also their in house desert is delicious.

    Hue often gets overlooked due to northern and southern Vietnam being more common, but don’t sleep on us, our central Vietnamese cuisine is bomb and if not the best of all Vietnamese cuisine

      @@fungbros It's pretty popular since they opened up the bridge in Bana Hills. Also, Hoi An is a frequent tourist spot so Da Nang get a lot of traffic these days

    I’ve been to Vinh Hoa for a long time when I visited family and friend every Christmas. I do of a good Vietnamese place called EAD but it is out of your way if your headed Austin but on the way if you go to Dallas.

    My personal favorite banh mi shop on Bellaire, if it’s open, is Nguyen Ngo (Nguyen Ngoc) and get it on a CROISSANT instead of a baguette. And with an egg. If it’s closed, plenty of other fantastic banh mi shops around the way.

    Y'all gotta come up to Dallas to go to Richardson, all types of bomb Asian cuisine there and my favorite Boba spot

      Don't forget about Carrollton,Texas there a lot of Asian spots over there even a H-Mart over there

      @@JAG214 I'm from Dallas, been to a few Asian places like Hong Kong market in Grand Prairie, HMart in Carrollton and Saigon Mall in Richardson. Now, I'm going to check out the Japanese one. Thanks for the info.

      I go to Nam Gaio and Vinh Hoa more. You guys should have gotten the Mi Quang at Nam Gaio. It's one of the best in town.
