No fancy camera work with this one unfortunately. Here is an unedited full cycle of the 1986 Hotpoint Potwasher Dishwasher. Background noise is kept to a minimum.
We had a later 80s version of this that came with our house. It did the same thing this one is doing, it’s surging during the wash cycle meaning it’s underfilling. Pump noise level going up and down. I didn’t realize that until after we got rid of it, yet it still outperformed!! These were amazing dishwashers. Ours was literally orange on the interior from rust. The chrome spray arm was golden, so much so that I assumed that was supposed to be the color of the spray arm 😂 One wash cycle with iron out and it was chrome, and the interior walls were white again.
That is definitely a much better dishwasher than today's dishwashers that break in a couple of years. I love the sounds of this dishwasher. My mother had a GE dishwasher that sounded exactly like this years ago when I was a little kid. That was built back in the time where GE was much better compared to today. I know this Hotpoint is made by General Electric, which was a major appliance company. Now people will wonder why to not buy any brand new appliances whether from Lowe's or Home Depot, because the new appliances break down faster.
My aunt had the same dishwasher the sound s of this machine brought me back to the dishwasher she had back in the 80s her dishwasher I remember did not have all these buttons on the left , my aunt s machine only had one switch to turn heated dry on or off plus the timer on the right .,
Hotpoint was made by General Electric, which quit making appliances and electronics with both that round GE logo and General Electric around 1994. Hotpoint is no longer in business. 1993 was the last year for leading brands like Whirlpool, General Electric, Maytag, Hotpoint, Kenmore, Frigidaire, Kitchen-Aid Superba to make kitchen appliances like refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves, toasters, blenders, washing machines, dryers with retro brown, grey, silver control panels, wooden brown and silver coated trim above controls on very top.
The machine is not getting enough water. This is evident by the cavitation of the pump and the lack of the sound of the spray in the wash chamber. There should be a very distinct sound of water from the wash tower hitting the door.
I love the 16:00 to 45:00 part! I am always drifting off to sleep here! So relaxing! This was probably the main wash cycle here.
This is the same machine my parents have!!! I’m going to clean the filter tomorrow for the first time ever. Can you imagine?!?

I love that sound of the motor. I hope you get it fully functional where it sprays at maximum pressure and the pump spins at 3000 rpm. Happy New Year!
This sound reminds me of the 1993 GE Potscrubber dishwasher that my grandparents used to have. A great consistent sound for sleeping, in my opinion.
Ge made hot point too
I agree. It brings back so many memories of my Kenmore built by GE.
@@Bob-ml1mv And some Kenmore.

Fantastic dishwasher!

That was exactly what I was thinking. I listen by ear.
I agree 100%.
@@jeromedavis8575oh no we figured you listened by your butt 🤣 oh Jerome 😂😂😂😂
My Grandmas dishwasher was the same, hers was a GE
I have this trying to find the filter if it needs to be cleaned
My Grandma had a GE dishwasher I think it's from the late 80's but I'm not sure exactly.
