Learn how to string it, tune it, etc. then try to start learning some easy open chords, which I have videos on major and minor chords, then try to learn some songs using these chords.

Nope .... Capo on the 5th fret g then g over f sharp then em7 but try playing a c and slide down the fret board 2 for the d that Luke uses and slide back up into the c and start over.
Very helpful lesson. Not criticizing either, but it didn't follow the TAB I had from Ultimate Guitar. I found your progressions easier, so was wondering if you could post the TAB you used. Thanks!

His D is played in the traditional C shape but positioned on the 3rd 4th 5th frets. But I myself will use the traditional D after the second verse...
