Does Mike have a closed hi-hat and an open one on his kit? Or did he just tighten it shut for those sections really quickly somehow? How did he get the closed hi-hat and the double bass going?
Thats what i think too. He must have one that is always close but i could be wrong
@@Fearis I can't imagine trying to make that switch while playing, it would be so hard to do it that quickly lol. Then again I don't know if they ever played this live so maybe it was done purely for the studio edition? Seems kind of silly though for something as basic as an open or closed hi-hat. Probably just one that's opened and one that's closed.
Yeah two hi-hats and the other one is closed. Also you can get a hihat "drop clutch" to quickly lock it. I've seen Mangini use the drop clutch and both of them have used 2 hihats in their setups 👍
