Nice to see what works and what doesn’t with some catchy music added to boot. Bravo for the wall sign too. Faith, family, friends; works so well in life. Nice results all around.
Good vid. About ready to do this in my kitchen from oaks that I cut down behind my house. Had not thought to use a jig, and my router to smooth the top surface. Thanks... way better than using a belt sander on these bandsaw blade cut slabs.
I think that is a super cool take on a router sled. I`ve not seen one like it before. I think you`re running the wrong side of your circular saw`s base against your guide though. The other side will grant much more stability, be safer and give you a cleaner cut.
Really nice, I'm doing something similar at the moment but only got one Ikea mount and I want two shelves so got to make my own one of those as well. Looks great, personally I would have taken the back edge back flat and rerouted to fix that tear out, it's not very noticeable, but you KNOW it's there aha.
You need a stage & cameras following you around! We're in the middle of remodeling an attached in-law apartment into a master bedroom & I was pulling my hair out until I came across your channel (while at work 😅) You are amazing girl! Y gracias for all the inspiration!! 4:58
Not everyone has the luxury of having a planer. The router sled method is quite commonly used as a substitute and for larger slabs that wouldn't fit in a planer (eg, a whole coffee table you don't want to slice up and reglue).
slab is quite heavy. i guess it's for decoration purpose only, fore anything else on it will cause damage to the wall behind it but albeit it's nice work - well done

Nicely done! Being an industrial electrician and contractor, I really would like to see you use safety glasses. But that's just me. Very nice job!!
Safety is job number 3!

Robert Mercado Thank you! :)
turn out gorgeous
Ady Unixmoment Thanks! I appreciate it!
Good video. Thanks. What is the music in the background?
Is that an old Greenlee Nail-Eater bit? Because if it is those things are awesome. I have not seen one in years...
What are you using to coat the wood, looks like some kind of oil??
It looks terrific, thanks for a great video!!
probably linseed oil
Very nice work. Im hoping that wood is kiln dried though.
Great work!
Nice wood work
Rahul Busviah Thank you! :)
Awesome!!! Do you happen to have a link to where to buy the mount?
All that to hold a frickin candle and flower.
How much weight will this hold?
Amazing! I want to give this a go! 5:51
Lovely gorgeous shelfs. Why do you flatten it with a router? Wouldn't it be much easier to run it through a planer on both sides?

MegaRetroRocket good thinking and point taken.
Do you have a cut list for your router jig? Like the design. Great work!
What kind of wood is the shelf?
What router bit did you use to plan the board?
I gotta try this! My garage is so cluttered right now lol 5:21
Sweet !
by the way nice job
What type of router bit did you use for the leveling process?
What kind of wood did you use? Nice work!
Actually I am not 100% sure, but I think it’s birch!
What router bit did you use for the back where you attached the rods
where did you get the mounting hardware?
Ecrit à la première ligne " Le matériel de montage provient d'une vieille étagère IKEA!"
When you were flattening the slab of wood did you use a special router bit? Loved the video found it entertaining.... cheers
Roomies Garage Nope, just a flat bottom bit :) Thank you!
Is that the saw you "threw" out?
I also would like to know where you got the mounting bracket
Delroy Clayton I took that from an old IKEA shelf 👍🏼

Name of the song please
Mad Max We're in this together now - loving caliber 👍🏼
You cut off the best part of the board.
Also your router sled made me feel stupid for spending £150 on aluminium extrusion and rollers. I'm making one like yours tomorrow
12K😍
