The government is disconnected from the people, prioritizing the interests of a select few over the general population. Rising living costs, unemployment, and inequality are major concerns. Protests can mobilize public opinion and pressure the government to implement policies that address these issues and improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians. The government's failure to address fundamental issues such as economic hardship, insecurity, and infrastructure decay is disheartening. Speaking without offering real solutions to Nigeria's deep-rooted issues of greed, ethnic and religious conflict, and corruption is tragic. Our nation has failed to redefine itself.
You say we shouldn’t blame the President-is that serious or just for TV? People worldwide are watching, and the responsibility lies with him for both victories and failures. Who should be blamed for using our oil as collateral for years? Who should be blamed for escalating inflation and excessive borrowing? Are you aware that three budgets are running concurrently and ministers are just as confused as Nigerians? As a young lady addressing the world, you need to articulate your views with precision and practice well.
It's clear that the government is scared, sending paid men and women to repeat the FG’s talking points, which indicates they have failed and are compromised. The ENDSARS issue will be with us for a long time. The issues raised were mishandled. The government's handling of protests often makes them deadly, using thugs and misguiding security operatives.
If I were to address the President or the press, I'd say: Engaging with kings, elders, and security personnel is constitutional, but only if it protects people's rights and lives during protests. Mr. President, you should have reached out to everyday Nigerians, especially youths and business people-those outside the party and government. As a young person in a polarized Nigeria, struggling with insecurity, inflation, climate change, unemployment, moral decadence, political thuggery, and abuse of power by government agencies, it's hard to justify why protests shouldn't happen. Mr. President, we hear you say issues are being handled, but it's the usual narrative. Good intentions alone don’t translate to action in Nigeria.
Mr. President, as the Petroleum Minister, bring in non-political experts to reassess our oil revenue process and sack everyone currently involved. Review all federal contracts, cut government expenses, and halt new taxation policies until credible experts review our true state. Then, call for a referendum to involve the people in planning the next decade of development. Address security challenges, prosecute criminals, and make trials public to show you're serious. Demand accountability from governors-if they fail to deliver, redirect their funds to complete essential projects.
Justifying extravagant spending on yachts, ships, and jets is hard when our oil is collateralized for the next 15 years. Your security is important, but so is that of 190 million Nigerians. Those who supported you are now demanding to protest. You might be right that some political elites are exploiting this, but your supporters can’t understand why the nation is worse off under your watch.
In the end, people are reacting to their dire circumstances. Plan for the future of our children. To the youth, it’s clear we can’t sit back and watch our kids die of self-inflicted hunger. We must join the political process actively and never again elect people who don’t grasp local, national, and state issues. No governor is saying anything meaningful, and local governments are non-existent. We must seek office, use government instruments to change lives, and pilot a few local governments and states well. This is not the time to clown around on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. Young people from other countries are leading the world with innovation; we must be Africa’s solution to stable governance.
Quick solutions are not forthcoming, but we must work together to create a new Nigeria. Speak truth to power. I rest my case, urging everyone to address our problems’ root causes, propose solutions, and take inclusive action. It saddens me that young people don’t know how to seize a historic moment to cement a legacy. We are wasting time talking about protests without offering solutions. Nigerians have been disengaging from the political process because they don’t trust the government. People are in churches and mosques, praying for good roads and wealth because the government has failed. We lack leaders who can speak truth to power. The fear sparked by events in Kenya highlights this. The mismanagement of public funds, particularly in the oil sector, has exacerbated these problems. The government's failures are undeniable, and the people's suffering is intolerable. By taking to the streets, Nigerians can exert pressure on the government, demand accountability, and work towards building a more just and equitable society. Protests serve as a platform to demand accountability and transparency in governance. Protests can serve as a catalyst for positive change, inspiring a sense of collective action and empowering citizens to demand a better future for themselves and their children. They offer a means for citizens to voice their concerns and demand representation that truly reflects their needs.

During the campaign, everyone contested as the perfect man for the job. After the election, they say no man is perfect. We are all responsible for the situation of the country.
Is Tinubu qualified to be the headmaster of a primary school?
Does this man in black understand that it is only after every presidential election (rather than state election) that economic hardship increases?
