Cornered by the Raptors, Dr. Grant (Sam Neill) is rescued by young Erik Kirby (Trevor Morgan).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Director Joe Johnston takes over the creative reins from Steven Spielberg for this third installment in the thriller franchise. Sam Neill returns as Dr. Alan Grant, a scientist who's tricked by wealthy couple Paul and Amanda Kirby (William H. Macy and Tea Leoni) into a fly-over of Isla Sorna. The object of their sightseeing tour is one of the Costa Rican islands populated by ferocious, genetically bred dinosaurs and the "site B" setting of Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World (1997). After their plane crash-lands, it's revealed that the Kirbys are actually seeking their teenage son, lost on the island after a paragliding accident. Trapped on Isla Sorna, Grant and his companions discover some painful truths the hard way. Among their discoveries: some of the scaly monsters possess more advanced communicative abilities than previously believed, the dreaded Tyrannosaurus Rex has a larger and more lethal competitor, and flying Pteranodons pose an even graver threat than some of their land-locked brethren. Jurassic Park III is the first in the series not to be based upon a novel by original author Michael Crichton.

+GodzillaFanForever 1 There was actually a spinoff book of how Eric survived for 8 weeks. He saw a T-Rex take a huge piss by a tree. He didn't have a bottle at the time, so he went back to the piss puddle sometime after he found a bottle and scooped some up.

Animals used their pee to mark their territory.
So if you smell a strong pee odor on a tree trunk bigger and taller than you. It means youre in a rex or maybe other large theropod's territory. Then, there is only one thing you mist do. Run away from that area lest you become large carnivore's snack.
Sam Neill is such a great actor. That look on Grant's face, in the moment when he thinks he's dead, is just top class. I think the only actor in Jurassic World who really showed the appropriate level of terror was Bryce Dallas Howard tbh.

I just realized Alan has the Raptor eggs but doesn't know it yet.
Say what you will about Eric he may be a kid but despite that he's also very brave and courageous considering that he just saved Alan from raptors by throwing a gas bomb at them to distract them! Add to the fact that he survived living on a dinosaur-infested island for several weeks makes him even more brave and courageous for a kid character in a JP movie!

Alan Grant went Indiana Jones in this film. Only reason to see it are the familiar faces of Grant and Satler.
Fun fact: Before Sam Neill was cast, Harrison Ford was actually the first choice to play Alan Grant, but Ford turned down the role.

At 0:07 when the Raptor jumpscares Alan you can hear the Raptor motif from the original one. I love how most of the Jurassic scores pay hommage to even secondary motifs like this.
Most sequel scores done by other composers just reference the main theme once and then call it a day.

If I had to guess how Eric got the rex pee, he most likely studied it's behavioral patterns over the weeks and found out where it most commonly pees, he dug a small trench that funneled into the bottle then left it for a few days.

Eric is impressive. Surviving eight weeks on that Island. The first one didn't survive an hour and he was a professional with a gun that explodes the things the bullets hit. If i was on that island i wouldn't know how to survive. I mean the jungle is one thing but the age of the dinosaurs was a life for only a few minutes time.

Because if you paid attention Dr. Grant unknowingly is carrying Billy's lucky bag which contain the raptor eggs, so therefore they didnt jump on him as they would have crushed the eggs. They were being cautious to see if he would give it to them.

You are right. The raptors had to decide whether or not Dr. Grant was the egg thief and couldn't risk harming the eggs. Isla Sorna is different island entirely with natural-born (male and female) dinosaurs and not ones captively designed and raised, so their behavior will differ. These creatures social interactions with each other are far more developed and their natural instinct is untampered with. Now that they behave more like a pack they will care more about their young/eggs.

I SWEAR watching jurassic park one in tho movie theater in 3D the freking raptors got me every time i was even expecting them but they still surprised me :D

You can see the fear in Alan's eyes just before the first gas grenade hit since he was surrounded by at least four Raptors. But, I wonder why they waited so long. They could have easily taken down Alan before the first gas grenade hit as they had plenty of time. But, they didn't. Why not? They couldn't have known Alan had the eggs since they later suspected Amanda for stealing the eggs. So, why did they target Alan and not kill him?
Because the jp raptors are known to just surround their pray and wait for like 5 minutes.

Eggs have a distinctive odor, it's not inconceivable that they might smell them on him, or in the bag. It's also possible that they didn't want to take any chances of destroying the eggs during the attack, and were planning an assault that would take him down without doing much damage to Billy's bag. When the gas grenades came in, their memories of being locked up in Site B may have returned, and they bolted in response.
This is all speculation, but...

Daniel Z funny enough this is the only Jurassic Park movie of the original trilogy where the Velociraptors don’t eat anybody. They’re just searching for their eggs. The closest they got to eaten someone here was when they killed udeski but they just used him as bait, broke his neck, and left him to rot
