Great video Thomas. It’s been a moment. Would be a dangerous video to create a drinking game with… “have a shot any time he says Slider, snapper or soft bait”. Haha. Love the new boat!
Haha oh mate that would be hectic 😂 I’m so glad to be back filming these videos. It’s so relaxing getting out on the water. I’ll be filming lots now with the weather getting better and the new boat going hard. We’ll go out when you make it over the ditch. Thanks heaps for watching. T.
So excited to seeing you out again Thomas! I don’t even fish and I love watching Chasing a Catch!
Thanks Jaci! Hope you’re doing really well. Thanks very much for watching. It’s great to be back out on the water filming. Uploads will be much more regular now. Thanks! Thomas
nice to see you back on the water. what is the little bird hanging around your boat, and dont say Sheena!
Haha 😂 they’re really common here and love hanging around boats just like this one was. I think it’s a type of shearwater but it might be a petrel also. Hmmm I must find out. Thanks for watching Don. Thomas
Hey dude, thanks for all the effort you go to with these videos. I really enjoy your laid-back approach to fishing and your genuine love of the sport. You make me jealous. I only get out salt water fishing a couple of times a year. Usually in the Marlborough Sounds....
One question... What is this "Spot X" that you mentioned?
Thanks mate. So glad you’re enjoying the videos. Glad you find them laid back. That’s totally my style out there. Just loving the day out really! That’s cool you get out in the sounds. Mainly blue cod, snapper and kingy fishing? Spot X are just my special spots that are either marked on my charts or locked away in my head. Places I’ve had success in the past really. Thanks heaps for watching. Thomas
Nice video and nice new boat. Any reason you moved on from the True Kit? I'm guessing the SmartWave is quicker to get out on the water
Hey mate. Thanks for watching. Loved the true kit but changed for a couple of reasons. First one was that we have a bit more room after moving house (no longer living in an apartment) and also we’ve just had a baby so wanted something a bit bigger for the family in the future. Thanks very much. Thomas
Hey Thomas been keeping an eye out for your next vid , it’s been a while and I see you’ve got a sweet new boat ! Great vid keep them up . What harbour is that have you moved out of Akl ? 😊
Hi Dave. Sorry it’s been so long. We’ve had a house move (living up North now) and a baby so things have been all go. So glad to be back into the fishing. Loving the new boat. I’ll be posting much more videos now. Thanks very much for watching. Thomas
Insanely high quality video! Keep up the good work I'd love to see more from you mate
Thanks mate. Very kind of you to say. Lots more to come. Thanks very much for watching. Thomas
As a student of fishing I would appreciate you giving the date of your trips
Hi mate. They’re normally filmed and then posted pretty close to the time so check the posting dates. Cheers, Thomas
Nice vid. I use all the same colour z mans as you. Have you tried grubs and paddle tails? I have way more success with those...
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it. I’ve tried paddle tails but not grubs. Do you cast and retrieve or drag paddle tails behind the boat? I’ve had success with both methods. Thanks heaps for watching. Cheers, Thomas
@@chasingacatch6017 Either works, but dragging a grub gets a bit more movement from the tail than a shad IMO. You just need a slightly shorter shank hook to set the bait right
Yeah very true re the shank. It’s easy for it to sit too far back I find. Where I normally fish dragging is a real option and the bottom is very flat. Must do a bit more of it. Cheers.
Lên mấy con cá quá đã bạn ơi , nay chắc trúng ổ cá ăn rồi 😅😃😄😁
Thanks for watching mate! I did well that day. Cheers, Thomas
Awesome
Thanks heaps. That was a great day out. Cheers.
Awesome vids mate, how do we get a chance to tag along?
Thanks mate! So glad you’re enjoying them. Thanks heaps for watching. Thomas.
@@chasingacatch6017 I'll be Aulk in a fortnight, just for the day
