ahaha this comment makes me spill my food because of laughing hahaha this was 100% true hahaha forcing actors to sing even thou they are not singers hahahaha
I’m sorry if my usage of the word ‘just’ offended you. When I said that they are just Filipino artists, I don’t mean the ‘just’ to be ‘only’. I didn’t intend to imply any sense of inferiority towards the group or to Filipinos in general. If you say "it's ok because English isn't my mother tongue", that is not the reason for why I used this word. That statement was said because I falsely assumed that they would look like ‘Koreans’ under the premise that they were trained under a Korean entertainment company. And I clearly stated in the video that this one dimensional thinking was wrong on my part. When I realized that they didn’t look like Koreans, I immediately knew that my assumption was false. This is the reason why I said they are just Filipinos. (Filipinos I mean, Filipinos who actually look like Filipinos in general.) I must say that you cannot take a single word that I used in the video and insult me and my race itself for that. Because I can speak with an assurance, that looking at my words in a bigger context will take away that misunderstanding that some of you are getting. Again, I’m sorry if this offended you.
Hi Jessica, no worries. You dont have to explain, im not offended by the 'just' word. Keyboard warriors should understand the overall intention of the review, rather than be blinded by one word. Thank you for the wonderful review and being proud of our boys. 😘😘😘
It's okay you're just struggling at that time to find the right words... no worries this should not be taken seriously but an apology is deeply appreciated ✌️💜
gosh jess i apologize for my kababayans who strongly have this negative filipino trait, extreme personalism. as a filipino, i did not take any offense with what u said :)) i hope us filipinos would learn not to take anything too personally
SB19 stands for "Sound Break 19" .. meaning, they are bringing a whole new taste of pop music here in the Philippines, inspired by the KPOP industry which is widely appreciated in the Philippines. 19 is the representation of unity between Korea and Philippines using our codes, Korea(82) and Philippines(63) if you add the numbers individually, 8+2+6+3= 19, since they were trained and handled by ShowBT, a korean enterntainment agency based in the Philippines. 😊 They can speak Korean, English and Tagalog fluently too. I'm happy you saw how much passion and practice they did for them to perform in such flawless synchonization. They literally practiced 1000x for their choreography and vocals which is being stamped by their Korean trainer.
Sounds like I forgot to adjust the volume of the background music when the song was being played. I’m so sorry if that made you uncomfortable. I’ll make sure to adjust them next time. :)
Hi Miss Jessica...thank you for reacting SB19 and for ur good thoughts about them..This group not actually shown for Filipino it is also for Korean culture bcoz they code name is about collaboration of 🇰🇷and🇵🇭 and they also changed a new generation of OPM..😊🙌
so true. and the networks are always the ones in control, so they would bring outdated ideas that may have worked in the 90's but would not work today.
That’s because the country refuses to give big budgets to the entertainment industry. Bagani is the most expensive tv show airing in the Philippines as of now but it’s budget doesn’t even reach 1/4 of the Game of Thrones budget.
@@aby1061 true.. but yet again there's a bunch of crappy groups and artists that no one even pays attention to. i'm sorry but most of the well known artists are honestly embarrassing. but it would be really smart of them to invest in a group that they'll train for a couple of years then make them debut in ph. like that'll be a smart move there's lots of support. sb19 isn't even perfect but you can see how much support and love they're getting. they're already better than artists in bigger entertainments here. there's more kpop stans in the philippines than there is in korea so imagine. if it's really good they can start promoting internationaly. it's possible. they can earn alottalott if they really put their everything into it
Heo Yoorim is the live action Inuyasha They even cut a lot of corners in the special effects and animation. Plus, I think that most of the budgets just goes to the executives and the popular actors.
I believe that it's ok to get an idea from korean pop culture because actually, boybands are NOT a thing in the Philippines and our pop culture has variety but lacks diversity. It's either you can sing very well alone or you are in a band... that's the 2 easiest options if you want to go and create a name in PH pop industry. Now given the fact that PH is one of the biggest followers of KPOP idols, the market platform suddenly changed the way Filipinos view "pop." it gained popularity, enticed a broad market demography and suddenly, it became a possible platform for Filipinos to enjoy music but also to apply their skills (singing and dancing). I understand the possible negative impact and they can be labeled as they are mere imitation but by now, i think it is definitely acceptable and understandable that it is just part of how East Asian countries evolve when it comes to popular music. And hey, Japanese POP is more popular than KPOP in early 2000s and taiwan also got their own boyband (F4) and all of their themes just vary in language but the style and target market are all the same! I think this is good for the pop industry in the East... it's an evolution that we don't currently follow from the West. The fact that Koreans are investing in this probably believe that the market is definitely enticed with the idea of having a boy group that has the same taste and style as KPop. Korean Pop industry is a global success that following it is always a good thing for every nation, especially to their neighboring countries. Filipinos are good singers, they can probably belt any song if they wish to! So i think it's just a matter of time before P-Pop can also be a mainstream thing herein the PH or probably in East Asia, if they are supported by the youth.
This is an on point comment! 😊 You're right, what the PH music needs is diversity. And based on the interviews of SB19, one of their goals is to "break" to the industry with their fresh sound, hence they gave the meaning of SB as "sound break." And I think their management is strategically targeting the right audience: they're touring schools and events where younger crowds are there, who are mostly listening to K-Pop. I'm hoping that this group will become successful and will bring the Filipino music to a whole new level. Who knows, SB19 may start the Filipino "Hallyu" just like what happened to Korea. 😉
레몬Milky sorry but that’s my own opinion since everyone has it’s own opinion even if it’s positive or negative and i hope you understand that too And that’s 2 months ago were i just hate them but now, I don’t think i still hate them but im still no their fan tho
They actually practiced this song literally a thousand times before their comeback with this song. The way that they did it was that they would do 30 practices per day until they complete the 1000 practices! So you can really tell that they practiced and worked hard for this comeback. Also, they choreographed their own dance for this song! They also wrote their own lyrics for this song and their debut song!
I don't know why but I'm laughing at the "comeback". 😂 I mean how, how it's a comeback when it's their first time revealing a song😂😂. Sorry it pique my attention. 😂😂
Mythical Creature Oh! Their debut song was a ballad called “Tilaluha”. Making this their comeback single! You should check out the debut song! It’s just that this song was the one that really blew up for the boys! So this is the one that most people would watch first.
No dear, they are already getting world wide attention like they should, they deserve it. I am from Bangladesh and they already have a few fans here in kpop lovers community. We have a solid k-pop and k-movies and k-drama lovers community here in Bangladesh.
@@kateasteedacanay780 my pleasure ☺ you can check out Korean bhai on youtube, he's a korean living in Bangladesh right now for many years now actually and he can also speak our language quite well, ppl love him here
which most of the people that criticize them can't see and appreciate. any korean influence here in the ph are usually highly criticize by the community. even the co-musicians as well. just because they didn't like or understand the culture and music, they just ramming immature opinions and claims. worst, they even accuse filipino kpop fans that they're defending the foreign influence instead of their own. How bold and immature of them to even think... Though my apologies of bringing my rant to your comment thread😅
I'm a Filipino and I will not lie They first perform it at our school when we are having Korean Culture Festival they aew really good performer in person.... Promise✋
"that was a bit cringey" thank you for being honest because thats exactly what i felt when i watched the video. Your honesty just made your video analyses much more credible.
in some interviews, sb19 said that they were on the verge of stopping when they released that mv. i'm so glad that they were warmly received by the target audience and so now, here we are
I guess she was referring to her "Just Filipinos" statement as expecting the SB19 will be mixed with half koreans or koreans. As some Idols like Twice are mixed with members from Japan and Taiwan as well. I saw how genuine her criticisms are. And she was able to give constructive criticism not comparing the idol group to korean idol groups but solely appreciating a new brand of Filipino idols inspired by kpop. I liked that she mentioned having a targeted audience which are "Filipinos". Because a lot of Kpop and Jpop songs need not to be translated to gain a bigger audience. It went massive as it is because they loved their language. And that's the key to anything we want to achieve. It's to love our own. Specially our language. Not to opt it out in our schools but to treasure it. I appreciate your comments about SB19 and hopefully they get to see this and I know they will appreciate it too.
there's mnl48. their songs are basically akb48 songs in tagalog. they still managed to appeal to the filipino audience, though mostly younger audiences, jpop fans, and anime fans. of course, they're not yet allowed to create original songs for now. they need to be approved first to have freedom to create one.
Your honest reaction--specifically basing it from your Kpop experience in Korea--is well appreciated. Your views are non-partisan, no bias because you're Korean. Love your judgement from a different perspective.👏😘
I'll admit that get a little bit cringe too when I first saw this MV. But after I watched their dance practice and the 2x dance challenge. I got addicted to them and have watched all their vlogs and even followed all their social accounts. And now I'm a certified AURUM!!❤❤❤
Truth!! The negative thing you said about the opm was really true.. for those who are a big fan of opm and really not into kpop will hate this group but you know they have songs that has more influence of opm than kpop like tilaluha and hangang sa huli and love goes sound more Western than kpop.. and the good thing is they're written in Filipino (well most of them) and we have a wide range of kpop fans that I have high hopes, but sadly some of them compare sb19 to the appearance of their favorites.. I hate it..
@@yoongiswhiskers2833 so true. Mostly opm artists even spoke highly of sb19. My father is a singer and loves opm so much as well as the old songs back in the days and when he saw sb19 on ggv, he actually praised them coz he thinks that this is another pride of the philippines in another area of music. Music is not based on the past, like if what music was on the past will have to apply to the music now. Music is art, different variations, factors and genres, So IT IS childish to hate them, thinking that those opm lovers are mostly are matured and professionals.
Konic well at least they helped create the song duhhh. Unlike other artist they just seat on the couch and wait for the lyrics to give to them and just record it🙄🙄
@@your_lav5278 never said they produced the song nor they didn't. The instrumental was produced by the company. That was given to them then they wrote the lyrics.
Would you believe that they also created their own song and dance choreography, i think that's the main reason why most of Filipinos love them. And they practiced it 30 times a day to make it perfect. Love them so much
SB19 is a breathe of fresh air here in the Philippines. They are multi-talented in nature plus their passion and good personality makes u stan them harder. stan SB19, because even though SB19 was trained under a Korean Entertainment Company they never proclaimed that they are ‘K-Pop’ that means SB19 was proud of their nationality , plus they use their own language and they always remember where they come from.. SB19 is raising the Filipino Flag 🇵🇭
Hi IAM a Filipino we usually mix Tagalog and English to our song because if you don't know that we are top 5 most speaking English countries in the world
"I'll make it sure to adjust them next time." - I do really hope, there will be a next time 😍 I like the way she gave Pros and Cons of SB19 being under a Korean agency. But let's admit that K-Pop has a big influence to Music Industry. Especially in the Philippines. Most of SB19 followers must be Filipino who are addicted to KPOP, for sure, because I am one of them 😂✌️. I know that SB19's target is Filipino's music industry but the heck, every time I watch them performing Korean song, I really love it 😍😍😍 I'm proud of it. Hopefully PPOP will made it worldwide like KPOP music 😁 Are you an international fans of SB19? Can you comment your country so we can know how many countries knows SB19 (PPOP) 😂✌️ 👇
In my opinion...i think kpop is having influence to american artist like justine timberlake, justine bieber, usher etc. because i can see there dance moves there song and rap they got a swag..even there music video...so they combined it and they got a lot of appreciation...all of us having and influence that is my opinion...and theres nothing wrong from it...
They wrote the lyrics to Go Up themselves! And I think (I'm kinda not sure) I've read somewhere that they choreographed the dance themselves, too! Edit: Please react to 'Tila Luha' next time! Especially the one from the channel NET 25 (Letters and Music) 😄
itsjane yes! Stell, the main vocal and lead dancer, is their main choreographer. He choreographs their dances w/ the help of the members and their dance instructor (who helps them w/ their formations and transitions).
Yes thats true everyone shared ideas for the choreo, but stell is really the choreo master.hehe.before they became sb19 stell and josh is a part of a korean dance cover group who won before and meet bts when bts was still also starting to be come famous.
SB19 is a P-pop group trained under a Korean company. A 5-member group who can all sing, rap, dance, and play different instruments. They write their own songs, do the choreography, style themselves and always perform live. Stan SB19! 💖
What if.. There's a chance that some korean company's will merge here in the Philippines to create a new kpop or ppop idols are you willing to audition?
Back again after many months, I hope you react to their "Tilaluha," "Hanggang sa Huli." Their vocals are prominent in these songs. Also in their cover song "Bakit ba ikaw."
I've seen so many people react to SB19 and this is one of my favorite reactions since you've been in a KPOP girl group before also was in Idol School. 🥰
We believed in there talent..They have there own style.Even though they are trained under Korean company..we are,or They are not just a Filipino..They spread love & inspiration all over the world. More power SB19.. Continue to spread love 💙🙏
They practiced a lot and it shows so much in their output and live performances. I hope they get the recognition they deserve. Thanks for your input! It warms my heart to know someone who had first-hand experience in the KPOP industry appreciate SB19.
You forgot the part that they make their own songs as well as their own choreography in "Go up". They maybe train under the Korean company but they still showcase the OPM vibe. ❤️
Please react to SB19's new song "What?". If you haven't heard about it, you should check that out. It has 8 million views, if I'm not mistaken. SB19 members are such good artists. We are very proud of them.
Ate Jessica, please react to SB19 'WHAT' if you haven't watch it yet. As you said in this video, " If they continue to produce this quality of MV, they have the potential to grow big." Yes....they already grown big if you watch their 'What' MV. They gave a lot of effort in it and in fact that SB19 is the first Filipino boy group/band that has been nominated on Billboard Music Awards for Top Social Artist Award and the first ever boy group that has been nominated in the Southeast Asia. It's a very huge success for them and for the fans. Thank you ate Jessica for loving the Philippines. I'm always watching your vlogs with ate Sylvia. - Loving from Philippines🇵🇭 사랑해여♥️

thanks for the reaction video jessica..for more info about them..the composer of the song is talented composer of wanna one but the lyrics and choreography are made by those boys who are very talented..they produced their song also..thanks again jessica..cant wait to see the finish of the your mural project
They Practiced the Dance 30x a day until they reach 1000 practice before they debut or Comeback. Also they have a Motto printed in their Dance Practice room. It says "PRACTICE WILL NEVER BETRAY YOU" :)
I am an OPM fan, and I also love and admire traditional Kundiman music, indigenous and folk music, etc., but I am also open for other cultural music genres and styles or brands as well as other pop music around the world. I dont want to be xenophobic and also not very ethnocentric. I love your honesty and the way you thought about this group's pros and cons for OPM, P-Pop, and the Filipino entertainment and music industries including our Filipino national, cultural, and artistic identities. 😂😊😇💕
That “oh i think they practice a lot”. I’m proud to say that they practiced 1000 times before they released their songs. According to their management “PRACTICE WILL NEVER BETRAY YOU” that’s why a lot of Filipinos and other countries, like them for being passionate about achieving their dreams. I’m addicted to them tbh. A good influence for everyone

I really like that you made your on opinion on them based solely on what they bring rather than comparing them with other kpop groups.. Cheers also to SB19 not making it cringy (well just a little bit lol) and looks like they worked hard for it. Love the videos by the way!
The thing is, english and tagalog is both our native tongues. 😂 Also music/dance/instruments are what filipinos are known for that's why when you were observing how they could dance well with the kpop genre.
They were trained like K-pop idols under a Korean entertainment company! Their sharp and synchronized dancing and solid vocal skills are products of hard work and dedication. According to their Spotify profile, SB19 trained in the Philippines not in South Korea under ShowBT, a Korean entertainment company that branched out in the Philippines. They've gone through three years of rigorous training known to K-pop idols and it clearly shows in their performances. Josh revealed in an iWitness interview that they have nine-hour vocal and dance training every day, with a one-day break per week. For their latest single "Go Up," the group rehearses the choreography 30 times a day, and even have a target of practicing the dance 1,000 times.
In my opinion personally I think SB19 isn't blurring the Filipino music or Opm It's actually a good mixture because they of course have a different approach when talking about music but I like K-pop and I like the fact that I can finally understand something with that style of music and I also like the fact that I could go to them and then go to listen Moira, December Avenue, IV of Spades, etc... For me it adds to it instead of blurring it there's more variety now
There's no such thing as kpop dance genre, that's an Urban Dance genre. Many filipino crews already dance to that genre. So you can't say that they dance like kpop but dance as good as the kpop idols. Ps. I think it doesn't make sense😂
atleast the quality of their voice is good.. and they can sing without auto-tune not like other artists whose trying to be a singers and can't sing without auto-tune...
Jessica!! Been a fan since Idol School and I'm so glad you reacted to SB19!! I really appreciate you giving your real and detailed opinion of them, thank you so much for checking them out and supporting them!! I actually wonder if you're still interested in pursuing an idol career, because ShowBT (the company of SB19) is accepting applications / auditions. ABS-CBN as well just recently signed Momoland and MNL48, and so I'm thinking Ppop is on the rise. Perhaps this might be an avenue worth exploring? Hahaha, Jessica stans rise up!! Fighting!
I stand Filipinos who raise the flag in the world, and #SB19 raised not only the flag but the bars of pop in the international arena. Ppop Pinoy Pop #SB19WorldDomination.. I hope you can watch their newest release "What?" last time I checked it is now at 9.5 million views. It has an English sub.
What I want for the SB19 to do is to make sure that they are representing P-Pop Culture. I know that they use K-Pop inspiration or references to create an idea for their own music, dance, and so on, which is great. Nothing wrong with that since we are all inspired by different kinds of music. Hopefully they will find that huge spark that will make the P-Pop international and global. GO UP is definitely a better starting point. Let's keep supporting these guys! ❤️ Kasi ako din pinoy ako, pinoy tayo. 😊🤗
I adore how Sb19 elevates the bar for Filipino talent to an entirely new level. Previously, it was all about looks. Now, it's not just about the looks as it is about the passion, discipline, and dedication to their work. I'm relieved they're not under the supervision of a Filipino agency, as the Korean training system is incredible. I'm a new fan and am incredibly proud of them.

That's true. So aurums/A'tins (I'm not really sure which one-- Called for their fans) are so proud of them. (including me. Hihi)
I don't know why but I'm laughing at the "comeback". 😂 I mean how, how it's a comeback when it's their first time revealing a song😂😂. Sorry it pique my attention. 😂😂

Yes, its also my exact reaction at first 😅 Like Justin was the most good looking member (based my prefrence) but that part was too cringey 😅
hahaha its better to hear honest opinions
When I first saw them, that's what I thought but now I'm a fan ♥
it's cringey until now i better listen to kpop but the song was a bop but the mv was a meh, but for low budget it's good
Same pero nung inulit ulit ko nagandahan na ko and I'm a fan of them naㅋㅋㅋ
in some interviews, sb19 said that they were on the verge of stopping when they released that mv. i'm so glad that they were warmly received by the target audience and so now, here we are
I guess she was referring to her "Just Filipinos" statement as expecting the SB19 will be mixed with half koreans or koreans.
I agree.
Yas.
Indeed 👌
there's mnl48. their songs are basically akb48 songs in tagalog. they still managed to appeal to the filipino audience, though mostly younger audiences, jpop fans, and anime fans. of course, they're not yet allowed to create original songs for now. they need to be approved first to have freedom to create one.
Truth!! The negative thing you said about the opm was really true.. for those who are a big fan of opm and really not into kpop will hate this group but you know they have songs that has more influence of opm than kpop like tilaluha and hangang sa huli and love goes sound more Western than kpop..
and the good thing is they're written in Filipino (well most of them) and we have a wide range of kpop fans that I have high hopes,
but sadly some of them compare sb19 to the appearance of their favorites.. I hate it..
They shouldn't hate SB19 though. That quite...hmmm...immature. Hating the boys won't help the Philippines °^°
Im from indonesia but im offended the way u said they are “JUST” a filipino artist
So how bout koreans,THEY ARE ALSO ‘JUST’ KOREANS
I’m sorry if that offended you. When I said that they are just a Filipino artist, I don’t mean the ‘just’ to be ‘only’. I didn’t intend to imply any sense of inferiority towards the group. I said that statement because I falsely assumed that they would look like ‘Koreans’ under the premise that they were trained under a Korean entertainment company. And I clearly stated in the video that this one dimensional thinking was wrong on my part. When I realized that they didn’t look like Koreans, I immediately knew that my assumption was false.
They practiced 1000x before they release the GO UP i believe.

Keone and Marie Madrid ...choreo for BTS and 2NE1
Brian Puspos...Henry Lau from Super Junior-M, NCT 127, and BTS
Shaun Evaristo ...Se7en, Big Bang, and 2NE1 all artists of YG Entertainment
