Do you use the JarDesign Airtraffic in this vid? And can you increase the traffic percentage? And one more question: Do you need to set up all the flightplans etc individually of each Airport, Airlines in the JarDesign, like in Worldtraffic 2, to get it to work? Thanks for watching! I am using WT2 in this video. In both x-life and WT2, you can increase the traffic around the airport. You can do this in x-life automatically with the slider. In WT2, you have to create the plans using the Airport editor. I hope this helps.

thanks for showcasing this airport, I think you did a great job with it and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it!
Just like you pointed out, the airport was made with consent by Aerosoft, using their custom buildings that have been in X-Plane 10 all along, just like I did for EDDF. Aerosoft is really really cool about this - and I hope that anyone who likes EGLL will consider purchasing their excellent payware version (which far surpasses mine).
Just something to point out: Did you see that there are almost no taxiway-edge-lights? This is on purpose, there are (almost) none at Heathrow in the real world, they are doing it all with the green centerline lights...

I do the have London Heathrow from Aerosoft, it is a great airport really. But your work is really outstanding. For a freeware airport, you deserve a golden medal. Thank you for your work!

We see that traffic management is not yet ready with these two planes coming on the taxiway.
Did you have any informations on the improvements to be made, their impact on the framerate or other things?
The 2 planes colliding is a problem indigenous to WT2. As for x-plane 10.50, 3 big things in store. Winds aloft will be available globally (currently upper wind data only available in the US), ATC has been overhauled (no more You are off course), and finally over 50 large international airports built completely with the lego bricks of x-plane. It is going to be an important and feature rich release. For framerates, I don't think it will be any different from what you get now. Thanks for watching!

So just to confirm that this airport comes with the update of 10.50, or does it have to be downloaded via. the downloads website? And is it included in the betas right now? An answer to these questions would be of great help right now.
Heathrow is about 120 miles away from where I live, so I know I have to get this airport working no matter what!
Hey Alex, the airport will ship with xplane 10.50 by default. I am not sure if it will be available through the betas but the final release will certainly have it.

It became available in 10.50b3, which was a disaster.
Looks absolutely amazing in b4 though, but it puts a lot of strain on my graphics card!

Yeah! In XP 10.50 they have Heathrow Terminal 5 in the default airport! Cause there is no freeware EGLL for XP, and in any version of XP below 10.50 they don't have T5

Wow this looks amazing,well presented and it can only be Osamah who can spicy it up to look this fantastic. The airport was well made ,Jan truly put some effort into this they have done a great job I'm really amazed. Keep up the great work,your tutorials and your efforts make X plane simulation and community improve and continue to expand.
I have question how do I get rid of static AI planes on sceneries.I recently bought X-life plugin nice fun ATC tool but my only downside is the present static already there. Thanks
Thanks for watching and yes Jan creates some really compelling scenery for xplane.
You can use the overlay editor to delete all static aircraft. I normally delete all of them as they do have an FPS hit.
Static aircraft that are CLOSE to ramp starting locations will be removed from DEFAULT airports in X-Plane 10.50. This will occur at the time these airports are exported from the Gateway to XP 10.50. AI aircraft will be spawned at ramp starting locations instead. However, statics that are placed FAR AWAY from ramp starting locations in DEFAULT airports will remain. Those statics will not interfere with the spawned AI aircraft.
Should I get the Steam version? because It's almost time for Steam summer sale.
The Steam version is pretty much the same thing. Some addons may not work with steam though but those are very limited.

well, since we are mentioning it, my birthday was yesterday june 5th. nice video. i sure wish xplane would go ahead and release already. they have delayed it seven times now. but i look forward to having much nicer stock airports all the way around, and hopefully better graphics with less stress on the system. at least that is what they are claiming. but better is better. also, should be seeing the new airfoillabs plane out very soon. so a lot to look forward to over the next few weeks.

If you have xplane 10, just run the updater and it will give you the option to update.
Impressive looking EGLL, I bet Aerosoft are upset as they released the same airport as Payware
Jan did a brilliant job with this airport. Freeware, but payware quality really.

I lived and worked in mid wales, about the most beautiful scenery i've ever lived by, Elan Valley was across the river, those victorian era dams are amazing lol
If you're near mid wales forget the Chase, and visit Rhayader and drive along the dams !!! breathtaking drops off side of road in places hehe

Hi. Nice video. I think you occasionally say "aircrafts" but the word aircraft is both singular and plural so you never add an "s" to it, even when there are many aircraft. Thought it was worth letting you know. :)

Squirrel is not famous! He's just known to the ETS/ATS community and even then, only to those that care to watch such videos. He chucks in the odd flight simulator and Train simulator episode now and then. I'd never heard of him until I purchased ETS and I'd never heard of you either until now because I just recently purchased xPlane. With respect, none of you are famous. You're only known to those who enjoy playing that particular game/sim on TH-cam.

They're famous within our community and that is the essence of the new world of "narrowcasting". You would never get television programmes made for such a specific area of interest and enthusiasts such as Osamah and the new professionals such as Squirrel fill an important educational/entertainment niche. No, they are not world famous but we certainly know who they are and appreciate their work. That's famous in the context of the Flight Sim community watching TH-cam videos about Flight Sims.

My next doors neighbour knows who Clint Eastwood is but has never heard of a guy called Squirrel or other such TH-camrs who make videos for a certain niche section of the community. That's the difference between someone who is famous and someone who isn't. Squirrel is not famous. He is only known in the ETS/ATS community because we all play that game. People that don't play those types of games will not know who he is. Pretty obvious right? People may have never watched a Clint Eastwood movie but they still would have heard of him and know who he is. A well known film star. That's famous!!
