I've been listening to DgD since I was 16, I'm 23 now, and this album sounds incredible. I can't stop listening. Keep up the great work guys. Holy shit
It's now a widely accepted fact that tilian sounds like an angel ascending from heaven in a parallel dimension and Jon sounds like A 7 ft tall 3 headed dragon throwing lava
Love this song because it truly sounds like everybody in the band is at their bests here. Jon is screaming like it’s a secret band song. Tilian is shouting and really pushing his vocals. The guitar and bass is awesome and Matt on drums sounds like he’s playing an infant annihilator song.
Came to listen to this masterpiece after seeing about Tilian leaving, my favourite DGD song, forever one of my all time favourite bands, it's a very sad day but thank you for your incredible music boys.
I’ve been a fan of dgd since 2007. And I’ve never knew a band who has gone through so many changes over and over. I was kinda upset that Kurt left but damn tilian makes this band sooo good. He’s a perfect match for the band.
Ikr. When I started listening to these guys I started off hearing Jonny on vocals but then I heard a track with Tilian and I didn't know how to respond....until Mothership came out then I realized Tilian was BORN to be in this band lol
this is perfect, I love the contrast of their voices and this album I love how its pushing Tilian's range. Like in the other albums he just does his soft high pitch singing, but I can actually hear a nice change in part of the song. They let him lower his vocal range and explore a little grungy scream in there for a few hard hit moments. I love this album.
I've been with Dance Gavin Dance since Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean. I've never been disappointed. They have always released professional content. I'm thankful for Tilian being in the band for as long as he has. I enjoyed him in Tides of Man for years before they went instrumental. This will be album of the year for "the scene". DGD continues to lead the genre and invigorate the sound I'm looking for every year. It's going to be a good winter playing this album on repeat. Hope everyone enjoys this as much as I do.
i mean, if we're considering artifex pereo part of the scene, i think they got the win for me so far. i need to dive further into the sianvar record too.
This entire album is fucking lit, but Chucky, Frozen One, and Deception are the highlights imo. Easily one of the best full albums I've heard in a long time. It's been a kickass year for music
I can't believe I managed to go about 9 years without ever listening to these guys. I regret everyday I didn't hear them sooner. I'm so obsessed! They're fantastic
I've been really put off some other bands lately, but i discovered this band and i have to say, its so lovely and refreshing! I support this band all the way ! The vocalist is amazing, as well as all the others who do their best to make such album ♥
This is the very first song I ever heard by DGD. I can't imagine not ever hearing this band. DGD is literally one of my favorite bands and Tilian is def in the Top 2 of my favorite voices!
almost every DGD song I love, it's like singing into a hair brush looking into the mirror and singing a break up song to all the bad parts of my personality and mind. "I DOnT nEeEeD yOUUuU AnyMORE."
WILL SWAN IS A FUCKING RIFF/LICK WIZARD.. What the fuckkkkkkkkkkkk. Will Swan your fucking LICKS AND RIFFS MAN what are they even doing to my body.. Tillian, this is your best performance. What a fucking song, I think this is becoming my favorite DGD song of all time.
That isn't ALL Will Swan, if you Know your stuff you know that (like the last Album) this one had ALOT of other guitarist as guests (and they play alot of the lead parts for different songs too) This is what has allowed them to stay FRESH and keep their sound ever changing, which is a good thing~ It's also beyond easy to tell that Eric from Hail the Sun played on this Track, It just SCREAMS his style~ If you Don't know what I'm talking about look up Hail the Sun's Album "Elephantitus" and it'll all become clear~
Got Link? cause isn't Andrew the Vocalist for Eidola? not that I don't trust you,but I seriously DOUBT he "did *all* guitars for this" -One of the tracks would Have to be main guitarist of DGD, WIll Swan...
Andrew is DGD's touring 2nd guitarist as well as the singer/songwriter for Eidola. However, you're right on one accord: I went back on the thread that I recklessly responded to you about, and checked. The only other guitarist FEATURED on Deception besides Will is Andrew. My friend commented on one of Andrew Wells' facebook posts promoting the new album (I believe the day it came out) and asked him which songs he featured on. Andrew Responded with "All of Deception and about half of Chucky" (paraphrasing)-That's where I misread. On the other hand, Will flat out says in an interview that there's two songs on mothership that were written by Martin, Secret bands second guitarist. Ultimately, what I'm really trying to get out is that just because it sounds like Aric from HTS and it "screams his style" to you, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's Aric. He's on "Here Comes the Winner" with Sergio Medina. I guess you can say I was mildly triggered by the condescending, " If you know your stuff" and "It's also beyond easy to tell" statements you made to the other guys.
In order to master this song, imagine how many times he's attempted his "scream" that probably developed the rasp in his voice, which is a plus to the album
@@PugzFTW He has some rasp in the first two songs on Artificial Selection though, because he recorded the vocals when he had a cold. He was going to go back and re-record them, but then he decided that he liked them as they were.
