Guess the globalisation as we understood is finished. Back to caae by case scenario. This will mean slower growth but less disruptive.

India's Tarif is Indian Sovereignty towards Indian Economy's greater health not letting it go below the threshold of its relative economic dynamics. If the West wants an equalized level playing field across the world, them West has to pay back & compensate for the cost of colonization & cold war impacts on India & other affected nations. It cannot be stupidly tit for tat taxation as US demands. It should not be entertained as the rest pay back by the paper that is printed by the US which is not backed up by the sum assured. There should be a global currency that should be compensated by the level of victimization by the last 100 years of Western Ally's aggressions - let trade be trade of mutual negotiation, not an imposition by the exploiter over exploited.

This is another warped way of a nation exploiting another with less favourable terms. India, perhaps, with its huge market, has to make its own alternatives.
US raises the tarrifs to stimulate its own manufacturing.
Trump is using a very simplistic tool. There's no point complaining. Get going if things are tough. India has a huge low skilled workforce which can switch to sectors which India has allowed the neighboyrs to have an easy time. Bangladesh has shown how ungrateful it can be.
