I love your tutorials. So encouraging.
Finished my " new to me" FW cover and am SO pleased. Thank you.
(Now, your 11 minute tutorial took me 5 hours! I closed off the top and added straps. My handle is old.)

My husband surprised me with a featherweight last weekend, I want to use the original case and your tutorial is the best….use the original case and protect/pretty it up at the same time 😀 Laura your tutorials are always easy to understand/follow along and I just love them. You are the best!

I just finished my featherweight case bag thanks to your wonderful tutorial. Now I am going to make a small pad to go under the presser foot and slide up the extension table to protect the surface of the extension table from the faceplate screw.. thank you so much Laura, I love your videos!

THANK YOU for all your wonderful tutorials!! They are very clear and easy to understand! I know that many experienced sewers do not appreciate watching the actual sewing in a tutorial. However, i would really appreciate seeing how you manipulate the foam covered material while you are sewing it on the machine. I want to make the sewing machine covers for my machines, but I can't imagine how I will be able to with the bulk of the foam. I guess that I am a visual learner. Thank you again for all the amazing tutorials is such a clear and pleasant manner! Wishing you continued good health to continue doing all that you love to do!

Because the handles on a featherweight case are old, they can sometimes break, so maybe consider adding handles to the padded cover to carry your machine.

Thank you so much for this video! I just make the cover for a machine I purchased last week. My case is in fair condition, with the bottom showing the most wear and tear. With this cover, I can still travel with it without causing additional damage to the original case. I love it!

When Making the featherweight caring case cover, is the three different fabrics laid on top of each other, or are the coordinating pieces sewed onto the main fabric? It Seems like there would a lot of fabric that is hidden under the main fabric. Then the next layer is basil and then the next layer is the lining. Video unclear

I'm sure she will respond, but I just made one and I used Dritz Cut-to-Size- Upholstery Zipper. I only used one zipper. I still stopped the zipper about 3" from each end because I like the tabs she used to cover the zipper ends. It looks more finished, to me. I hope you make one!

What is the minimum zipper length you recommend? I have a 30" which will fit across the front and both sides, leaving the back to sew close and cover as you show in the video. Will this allow the case to open well enough or should the zipper ideally go part way around the back side too?

    • @SewVeryEasy
