It’s good to see California getting some exposure for western hunting. Growing up on a private ranch outside Chico I never took advantage of the public land hunting and I regret it now. Great show, great footage, great buck. Keep up the hard work.

I've hunted the D5 zone for years and X zones when I get drawn. It is a mad house in the D zone nowadays, got drawn for an X zone and plan on parking the truck and discovering the back country in hopes to get a stud buck. Thanks for what you guys do and your commitment to sharing the experiences. Keep up the great work.
Very cool video guys! Man I love seeing more blacktail content. Those burns are my favorite places to hunt too. The video took me back to my 2016 opening day. I had 9 bucks in the bowl I was glassing, I ended up killing the 2 biggest bucks in there and then I was kicking myself for shooting the second buck! Brutal solo pack out and the worst part was my season was over before it really got going! Anyway looking forward to the rest of the series.
I grew up in northern California and like you leaned to hunt in Trinity county started in 1967 I've taken more than I can count i hunted D5 quite a bit in the 80s I mostly still hunted I've lost my lungs now I'm a road Hunter

My first deer hunt ever was a northern California high country blacktail hunt. This video has brought back many memories of my father, my grandfather, my brothers and myself all glassing a burn looking for a buck. Although I am yet to successfully harvest a blacktail this video has allowed me to relive a childhood memory. Thank you. You guys have earned a supporter for life. On another note I do find it a rarity to find well made hunting videos out of California and I think this is a great step in the right direction. Question regarding the filming; when with a large hunting party do you take turns with who films or is one guy the cameraman for the entire hunt? Also what camera are you using, looks like dslr? Looking forward to more content.

We typically take turns running the camera depending on who draws which tags, and swap a camera for a rifle or bow after tags are filled. We try to keep it fair and each member gets a chance to hunt.
