@@automotiveflux Usually, my automation cars are the only vehicles I drive, so I think they do count... maybe I've just built some cars that are a little too fast, I like to build cars that can exceed 800 kph and while testing the topspeed you do get quite a lot of mileage in a very short time
Ah something I can answer! The reason for the flicker/glitches is maths, basically the farther you get from the center of a game map or starting point the less accuracy there is in the numbers used to calculate things as the number get bigger and bigger, and it'll cause glitches like this.
It's actually more about computers and design restrictions than math, since math usually doesn't allow for rounding while computers are too restricted not to round.
When you get really far from the origin, you get float errors. Basically floats are 32 bits, but 1 bit is used for the sign, 8 bits are used for exponents, and finally the last 23 bits are used for the fractional bits. Although you have the maximum limits being -3.4028234664 × 10^38 and 3.4028234664 × 10^38, your precision lowers because your decimal place starts getting moved further and further away. Instead of 1.999987 where you have 6 decimal places, giving you some decent precision, you can end up having 19.9998, and you lose that last digit of precision. When you're at the outer limits of the map, you end up losing a great deal of precision on a lot of things....like the physics engine, causing jittering and weird behaviours. This is why the game, Outer Wilds, moves the whole world with the player as the center of the universe, rather than vice versa.
12:20 Its a consequence of floating points Floating points are named so because it has a decimal, which can move, and the decimal is described as a floating point on a number The game engine holds positions as a floating point, and as you get farther and farther from the center of the map, the engine reaches its limits, so it has to move the decimal to the left more and more, with rougher and rougher jumps in position as you get farther from the center, until it gets to this point
Either I have driven 1000km previously and it was able to remember that and give it to me, or buying a used car in the campaign tutorial that had well over 1000km gave it to me. Because it popped immediately for me that day.
love your videos man; you're very chill to listen to Edit: JATO is Jet assisted takeoff. Aircraft like the C-130 used it to take off in shorter distances
2 things you should've done 1# hold the increase speed in the cruise app it goes higher every second you hold it down + if you are near the number of speed the game lowers your throttle to match the target speed = losing speed, If you want all the power and speed just hold it till it gets over 2 to 4 times the speed you want and it will continue to push the engine to the highest speed it can achieve. 2# I don't know if the devs don't know this but I remember since I've bought this game back in 2013 or 14 can't remember. If you open your trunk the air resistance decreases and it'll let you drive faster I'd suggest removing the trunk from the part list for optimal air friction .
@@xander1052 Oh well that's even weirder then. I thought it might've counted all the KMs from before the achievement got added but if not, it makes even less sense. I might've played a little the last 2 days, but before that I haven't played Besmn.NG in like half a year 😅

you can set the boost amount and the boost strength of the JATO rockets in a JATO-equipped vehicle in Vehicle Config. You can make those rockets go a lot faster and farther. Also, delete the combustion engine entirely, it just gets in the way of the acceleration.
oh for the new truck you gotta remove the brakes, since they work off air and stuff, you were spinning due to the brakes being locked in the rear at least
did a 24h of le mans with a custom Road Sport Roamer and then got this achievement when I opened the game when they added it went over 2000+mi was very fun to do as a challenge hardest part was night as headlights are non existent my current total OD is 5861mi combined
In speedrunning we have gotten the bolide up to around 550-600kph by removing all the body panels and injecting nitrous. The problem is that it does run into overheating issues if you are cruising at over 450.
Scintilla is better for top speed, I mean the car don't over heat, around 570kph after like 1min. I removed all body parts, picked the spider body, slick tires (front wheels 5 star shape and back wheel of the top speed version I guess?), using the V8 and not the V10, of course with Turbo and everything race, sequential transmission, gear ratio are 0.5:1 for the 6th, 0.6:1 for 5 etc ... The main issue about this setup is the clutch, from 0 to like 130kph in 1rst gear, but 0 to 70 on the clutch 😂😅, if you stay too long on the clutch he died
You should make a car in Automation that should be able to drive over 1000 km without a break while having a top speed of over 400 km/h and then test how long it can drive in BeamNG with a speed of 250 km/h without a break.
Do you not tend to run in to lower RPM limits and peak power using the ultra heavy duty block over the stage 3? I find more trouble from the radiator than from the block.
I randomly got the achievement while playing and I was really confused, like how come I've played this game for 600 hours and only now drove 1000km in total? Didn't know it was recently added haha
I beat it in 2 hours. All i did was take a Hirochi eSBR 800 and switch the battery from 40 wh to 100 then set the final drive to 4 then suspended the car in the air with all 4 wheels off the ground with node grabber and then accelerated the wheels to 520 km/h

This is also a problem in Assetto Corsa on the larger open maps. It doesn't even need to be particularly big if the simulation has a lot going on.
beamng parts only adds to drag, , so if you just take the bumpers and hood off, you'll have less drag
oh but not everything has a drag value added, so it can only get better if you take things off
