Sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
@Reese Benedict I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
How long dose it take have a large population again on that same spot? New lion fish moving in? When I see the large schools it looks like you could use a suction hose and herd them like cows toward it.
Those lionfish bags seem to be getting bigger and bigger compared to those little slim tubes what were originally used in the videos from a few years ago
They are endless. It is a war that we will not win. The best we can do is win the battles and keep areas clear of lionfish so reef fish have a chance to survive until local predators figure out that lionfish are food that they can hunt. We are working hard in the Virgin Islands to clear areas of the invaders for that reason. We have seen some of the 'locals' beginning to hunt and eat them on their own. Lionfish reproduce at an insane rate and have the ability to eliminate all the local fish and creatures that keep the ecosystem in balance.
@@rickmanseau5957 it would be cool if you could get discount on a vacation if you help hunt them. Free dive time and air. Sounds good to me. Tell your goverment.
Whole Foods in Miami began to carry the meat a few years ago, which has helped control the population of them, at least in the Upper Keys. Also, some restaurants here in the Keys have it on the menu (not enough of them in my opinion). I've only seen two on my Upper Keys reef dives since June, but last weekend I dove the Vandenberg in Key West, I speared three alone on the reef dive after the wreck.
Great video Dave - y'all are doing a great job - I am helping control them in Cayman - th-cam.com/video/YLAeeYwfcl4/w-d-xo.html - feeding snapper and th-cam.com/video/6_BdtOFi_mg/w-d-xo.html - Feeding Moray
This person is hunting an invasive species that destroying coral reefs. Lionfish are also very venomous. Why do you feel the need to ignore that and go straight to talking down on them?
Need one of those cylindrical containers - much easier to stuff the fish into.
j4d3 goat there are other videos here on TH-cam that show diy containers on the cheap.
scuba diving schools
should make this as
one of sea outing phase
Great job...good spear....change the bag....

Change the spear and bag. U can mess u up really bad with this equipment. Looks hard.
Buy cillindrical bag and spear with narrow heads
what happens to the fish after you spear them?
how come they don't scatter when they're being hunted?
Does anyone know largest one caught?
Since this vid was made almost 6 years ago, how is the Lionfish problem today???
Those lionfish bags seem to be getting bigger and bigger compared to those little slim tubes what were originally used in the videos from a few years ago
Work Faster. I cant buy these in the supermarket yet?!
Who can invent a "FISH-VAC"?
You'd think when they see their mates getting spiked the others would do one.
Way to go removing those lionfish! I’ve got a few lionfish videos too you should see.
Beautiful boat. Is that a tug?
Doesn't look like the spear tip works too well
Great job Dave!
Would it be an idea to chop some of them up and give some protein back to the ecosystem they have been robbing from ????
Well it's dangerous to diver too
Bag doesn't look like it works real well. Too hard to open each time he tries to put a fish in it. Glad your helping thin out the Lionfish.
You found some big ones. Right on!
They seem endless. Like the videos keep them coming.

Most satisfying thing to watch
These things are everywhere and all look huge and very well fed, wolves in sheepskin
If you want to send me some photos and videos of your Lionfish hunting I will put them up on www.lionfishdivers.com
Is there a limit?
No they are invasive to the carabean sea
Hopefully they don’t swim away when a diver comes close..an altered instinct of survival probably
Good thing these fish don't scatter. They don't seem to notice or care that they are being picked off... Interesting.
Go get em Batman!
Some of those were huuuuuge!!!!
use one of the pvc tubes instead of a laptop bag
You need one of those zoo keepers/ tube!
Bag doesn't work
Awesome job!
I hope eventually the grouper learn that they make a good meal.
Teach goliath grouper to eat them. Has anyone hunted lion fish where there are goliath grouper?
Why not kill them then let other fish eat them?
Would make a good vid game. Camera on suction hose. Every time a L. fish swims next to it hit tab on phone and up goes the fish. I'd pay for that app.
Yay! Get em all!!!
U getting good ones
Change your tactics and change your bags.
We just started killing them and leaving them on some of our reefs we fish there are 100s
Sinsmauler are the populations staying under control?
Aren’t there any fish markets that could buy them?

@@Renville80 more and more as ppl get use to eating them. At tournaments they do cook them for ppl to try.
Those fishes really like ship wrecks !
Good way to feed people
Soooooooo satisfying
Poseidon & his dirty great trident! Lol
Lionfish are pretty stupid fish huh?
