It took me a long time not to raid thrift stores to "make something" out of something not perfect. Too often those items (clothing, decorative dust collectors etc) were stashed into bins and corners and I either never got round to make something or whatever I made didn't turn out the way I imagined. So I started a big purge about 2 yrs ago and am still in the process. Each time I get to it, I can let go of more stuff and fewer items get put back because they are too "valuable" (in some aspect or another) to throw out.
Thats a great way to do it! Doing it in stages probably allows you to get to those projects you actually want to do in between purges. I might have to start doing an annual re-assessment of my UFOs (unfinished objects) to see what stays and what goes 😊 In the meantime, i won’t be picking up any more furniture on the side of the road until i finish the pieces i already have here!
@@pigeonart Furniture on the side of the road... I really did hurt my "I-want-to-make-heart" NOT to take that beautiful old chair (in a state of disrepair) home. But I don't need more chairs and I already have 3 chairs, that are waiting for me to be inspired and make them beautiful again.
