First Major Changes to our Bus Tiny Home
My husband and I are preparing to move into a bus tiny home in February. We bought the bus all made up, but had a few things we wanted to change to make it perfect for us.
Firstly, we gave the recliner chairs away to family and put in a 3 seater couch. We also changed the microwave as the one in there was a little dingy and broken.
Finally, I shortened the curtains as they were dragging on the floor.
These might seem like little changes, but it has made us very excited to live in the bus!

Looking at my artwork from 20 years ago…
มุมมอง 6921 วันที่ผ่านมา
As I am downsizing to move into a tiny home, I have a lot of decluttering to do. I've been documenting most of it and in this video, I am tackling my old artworks. Anything I'm getting rid of was photographed and offered up to my friends and family on Facebook. The rest will be packed away and stored in our bus home. I found some artwork I don't remember doing and a few gems I enjoyed seeing ag...
Recharging my Batteries With a Painting Session
มุมมอง 73หลายเดือนก่อน
It's been a busy few months, and I haven't taken much time out to paint lately. I can tell you it is very much needed. When I was faced with a free afternoon, I seized it! I decided to paint my dog, Toffee. I used a canvas board for that painting. while that was drying, i also painted a kookaburra using a reference photo from Pexels. I had a lovely time listening to music, singing and painting....
A Relaxed Decluttering Day
มุมมอง 405หลายเดือนก่อน
My last decluttering video was a huge one for me. It took 2 days and was very overwhelming. I felt exhausted for days afterwards and I was unable to do more decluttering for a couple of weeks. I need to be able to keep up the decluttering momentum as we are downsizing from a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 living room house to a decked out bus (tiny house). I therefore decided to try something different. ...
A Huge Studio Declutter and a GIVEAWAY!

My husband and I will be downsizing and moving into a bus in early 2025, so I am slowly decluttering my house. I decided to start with my studio because I knew that would be a difficult one for me and this is only my stuff. No need to keep checking with the hubby if I can get rid of things. From trying to decide what to do with original artworks, to finding duplicate art supplies, this was a ve...
Sewing Rosery Apparel's Daisy Dress Pattern | Part 2

In my latest video, I sewed a bodice mock up for the Daisy Dress. Today is the day that I finally sew the full dress. With a couple of set backs along the way, it took me months to sew it. But I am happy with the final result! This dress is simple to follow and I think would make a good beginner friendly project. I usually find patterns quite difficult to follow, but I had no issues following t...
Sewing a Wearable Mockup Out of Rosery Apparels' Daisy Patter but Make it Cottage Core

Two year ago, I purchased the Daisy Pattern from Rosary Apparel with the plan to make it out of a linen fabric. Because my body has changed since I bought the pattern, I wanted to double check that I the size 14 (largest one in the sizes I bought) would still fit me. So I made a wearable mock up and took the opportunity to use metal eyelets I bought to turn it into a cottage core vest. This vid...

My dog needs a coat, let's make one for $3!

As we rarely heat our house, and we now have a puppy who doesn't like sleeping under her blanket all night long, I've been wanting to make her a coat. I'm not sure she will wear it and she is still a puppy and will probably grow more, so I didn't want to go out and spend too much money on a dog coat. So instead, I made her a $3 coat. • @pigeonart

I didn’t staple it to the board because i wanted to continue using the board as a cutting board. I do agree though that those seams were unnecessary. All the layers stay together without it. The steam from the iron kind of congregates there and the wadding ends up wet. So i’ll probably unpick them one day

Hi guys the Volvo looks great a 7 speed comfort shift and you have a black tank for the masseraer toilet you will need to leave the roof hatches on for air flow if moving the air conditioners as the bus gets hot inside with only 2opening windows and maybe fit a split system A/C and a diesel heater I now have a 5th wheeler after 3 busses I run mostly victron gear with 1130 watts of solar 600 amps of lithium battery a 2000 watt victron inverter and I took out the 3way fridge and put in a LG inverter 240 volt fridge which is running 24/7 and a DCtoDC charger as I’m driving to keep batteries topped up and I don’t plug into mains power as the solar is enough also inverter microwave good luck with the motorhome

    • @pigeonart
      @pigeonart 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Very nice - where are you based? We’ve bought 3.5kw of solar panels, as Tasmanian winters will give pretty poor output. A diesel heater is a must - thats on the cards! We have been talking about changing to a 240v fridge; it might struggle to fit through the door though. Will need to measure carefully before committing.

I really really envy you and I wish you all the best for your episode in life. Something like this has always been my dream, but it never happened. Perhaps look into keeping alpakas - the provide lovely (and very expensive) wool. Would be fun to spin your own yarn to knit and crochet. And the size downgrade... well, I'd rather have a very large garden and a tiny house, than the other way round. Being in Australia - wouldn't it be possible to build a small "shed" to use as a workspace? Shouldn't get too cold most of the year.

    • @pigeonart
      @pigeonart 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I have thought that it would be fun to have sheep/alpacas and weave my own yarn! But i think that will be a fair way into the future. Sheep in particular are high maintenance animals that we don’t have any experience with. Me too! We are tired of living on top of our neighbours here. We will be building a large shed and i’ll use the office space of as my studio. ☺️

A pretty good colour range from these. A primary yellow, two blues, two reds and a burnt umber and white is all anyone needs really. That will reach every color. The magenta, primary yellow and cyan colour wheel gets pretty to a full range but it’s not quite every colour

I believe it’s a Scarlet Macaw. These paints are so neat. Did your set come with the different nozzles? In America you can find them at Michael’s, as well as many other online options. I bought mine at Michael’s and used one of their 50% off coupons and some rewards points so I got them for a fraction of their list price. I just recently added them to my art supplies but haven’t given them a proper test quite yet.

If you like stocking stitch for scarves but hate the curling up - try a small garter stitch border on both sides. Depending on yarn thickness 3 to 5 stitches are enough. And find some tutorials on yt to find out how to weave in the ends on the go - I love it. There are also a lot of tuts on yt how to join grannys as you go - and in the process, crochet over the ends, so there are a lot less ends to weave in. And I am still very impressed how well your Granny Square turned out. If you don't tell that you made mistakes noone will see any. I looks really great.

I think the contact of the green fabric with the wood causes it to slip. What if you staple the cotton fiber to the board first? What if you prepare the fabric on top of it and staple it? Because all the surfaces must be taut. Next time maybe 😅❤️‍🔥

You could score the timber to make a rough surface or staple on a sheet of sandpaper. The friction will hold the wadding in place.

I’ve entered in Movember a few times - unlike walking which is good for you, I grew a horrible moustache which made everyone else upset 😂

Yep, but you were crowned Man of Movember... So mustn't have been too bad ;)

If I could, I'd come visit you now. Over here in Germany the wet and cold winter is coming - and I much prefer the warmth (or even heat). And I love walks in the early hours of a nice summer morning.

I totally understand. Having lived both in Europe and Australia I've seen the worst and best of both worlds. The long grey winters can really affect your mental health too :)

Enjoyed your video, and yes Rudy can be a pain peeing on every tree and shrub. I am happy to walk any time of the day but prefer cooler weather. Your mum and I had great walk at Barren Grounds nature reserve today and I have 15583 steps so far today. Just saying, not bragging.

I like to walk at about 9 am after breakfast and reading the news. All year round is my favourite time except summer which is too hot!

My favourite time and place to walk is at around 6pm, walking to the fridge to grab a drink - then walking back to the couch!

I think it is really sensible to put your health first and think about making content only if you really feel like it. 💕

Thank you :) The hardest thing for me is working out that my mental health needs attention before it gets too bad. Luckily, I picked it up this time!
