  • All lead guitar parts played by Yui Hirasawa (平沢 唯) on Giita (ギー太) & Azusa Nakano (中野 梓) on Mut-tan (むったん) in the full version of S2 OP2!!
I use these for 3D music in VRC but I want to share them because the quality is so uniquely high!
This distinction isn't canon I just thought it would be cool to isolate the guitars like this!
This must be the most dynamic K-On song there is and it's one of my favorites! That's why I wanted to do something special to show all the tracks that are playing for one character as best as I could which I think turned out amazing! The cover art being in front of a whiteboard helped inspire that, which I made a blackboard for better contrast! Although Azusa's Lead II. is kinda played in the back I figured it was still lead because it's in the center. I designated the all-track guitars to Azusa because it sounded better in her track. Some could've supposed to have been Yui's parts.
The frog mascot shows the tracks that play in every track after the first step of isolation, which means they weren't removed from any of the 'karaoke' CD tracks. I tried to remove as much of these as I could, but the FX are pretty much impossible with my method. The FX are also tricky because after the start they're confusingly quieter in Yui and Mugi's tracks and louder in others. The last guitar somehow could not be removed from other tracks.
Color meanings: Green = unaltered isolated track. Lime green = minor panning changes or mono render if lead guitar. Yellow = unavoidable major panning or volume changes. Red = phase cancelled out. White = not playing. Gray/Desaturated = not relevant for current track.
    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
No AI or other filters were used at all. The lead guitars were taken from the isolated guitar tracks I made before, either as its original track or from the channels without the rhytm guitar. The two solos beautifully phase cancel out the rhytm guitar that remained in both tracks. Because all other leads were panned in the center no stereo details of the guitars themselves were lost at all when rendering as mono to avoid playing the rhytm guitar. It's all 3dB quieter than the original to prevent noise peaking at the solo parts. I wanted to minimize dead air too so I kept the channels in when they weren't playing the lead guitar, but turned them way down. Look at the tutorial I made in the playlist description for more details:
    • Go! Go! MANIAC - All I...
I think the very quiet parts from the other instruments carrying over is mostly from compression differences between the tracks, although I kinda like it like that. It feels like the sound is bleeding over from them wearing headphones playing along to the song or something.
Thanks for listening, use this as you wish!
