FRANK ZAPPA : The Black Page #1 - drum cover by TONI PAANANEN

Recorded, mixed & mastered by A. Kippo @ Astia-studio A (Lappeenranta, Finland). AAD.
It took me about a week and a half to learn and rehearse the song. My version leans on the original score written by FZ, but also takes nuances from other versions like the first recorded version by Terry Bozzio on "Zappa In New York".
There’s no sound replacer, no drum samples used, no additional reverb and no editing done.
It was recorded on 2" 24 track analog tape machine without a click track and it is, of course, one full unedited track.

the learning process must be very interesting, would you please explain bar 15 ?
i personally love that very much, just not understand how many part that crochet triplets split into.

Hi! Oh yes, it was intense! I hope I got your question right, but my answer is 6. The way I did bar 15 is that hi-hat keeps the 4/4 but I'm playing the written rhythm on that triplet feel against the 4/4. I'm not sure if that's the absolutely "correct" way to to do it, but that's how it made sense and sounded right to me.

oh yeah, its make sense to spilt into 6, because the score shows septuplets in the middle, i guess the score out there might be wrong.
