I started watching this after looking up a bunch of vocal feminizing surgeries and this is giving me so much hope. I’m a detransitioned female and took hormones for about a year and I feel like it wrecked my singing voice. I adored singing until I went through this but now I know that I can work towards improving my voice I feel so much more at ease!
So my friend is transitioning MTF and I want to be as helpful as possible. So I've been watching every vid and I'm even practicing these vocal techniques as well so I can work with her and just be there to help out. I've known them for years. I love them like family and at first I guess I was utterly confused as to what they meant by transitioning. I'd even say I was against it at first. But I love them so much. I want to be supportive. So thank you for posting all the vids you do. This information is BEYOND useful.
I have no clue why this was recommended for me but damn it's interesting how much your voice changed, a trans journey is something i'll never have to experience, but I wish you good luck on yours.
Everytime I meet a trans girl and she tells me she has vocal dysphoria, I show them this video. Everytime, the reaction is the same, wide opening eyes. Many people don't know the potential hidden in each one's voice. That's why this video, Zhea, is definitely life-changing for many people. I mean, all your videos are good/fun/interesting/practical, but this is a lifesaver for many trans girls around the world. This video gives them hope and that is no small thing.
Ram the Cowy thank youuu you too!! I’m just watching to learn more cuz my voice is pretty deep for an afab and i like it that way cuz i don’t feel dysphoric when i feel masc which is about 10% more than fem shdbsbs i appreciate it though 💘

I have a squick reaction to the sound of my current voice, so I'm feminizing it as the first stage of my transition. Your progress over time, and the nonlinear nature of the process gives me hope of finding my own voice. Thank you.
I'm going through a super hard time with my dysphoria, I'm a 6'7 hulking mass of a man, and seeing you have the audio from your start to your end is so nice. I wasn't expecting your dead voice to transition so fast, and after all of that is just perfecting and saturizing a beautiful voice for a beautiful girl. Thanks for posting this, it gives me hope for my transition.
Dear IcarusBSP, I am also very tall - 6’9’’, in my mid 40s and MtF transgender. I am out to my wife (who accepts that side of me) and a few other people (who largely try to avoid the trans topic). I had strong dysphoria in 2011-14, then I managed to shove this aside for a few years, but at the cost of anger issues and depression. Now dysphoria has been back for some time and I am contemplating transitioning in some way or form over the next years. I go back and forth in my mind what that should look like. Given my height, I feel like I cannot completely give up my male “safe space”, which allows me respite from being gawked at when out as a woman. It is just tiring and frustrating after a few hours and I just feel like going home. I feel like if I made my best effort over a couple of years with voice training, make up etc, I could actually be quite beautiful and feel good about myself. But I feel that my height would always prevent that I can live a normal life as a woman. Then I consider where to create sizable female spaces in my life without making my family’s life miserable (by them suffering all kinds of prejudices). It is very hard to find an acceptable way forward. I would love to talk with you about our experiences. Maybe we can provide each other some support and maybe even find ways how each of us can move forward. Best, Jessica

I feel like most people hate the sound of their own voice in general, but couple that with the dysphoria, that has to be really hard to deal with. I can't imagine the kind of work that goes into voice transition. Love the way to explain it in terms of acoustics, speech science, and music theory, definitely helped me understand a bit better.
I’ve always wondered how people altered their voice when they were MtF, as I know trans men tend to have their voice deepen by testosterone. This was a fascinating thing to listen to, and learn about! Thank you for sharing your journey

Moreover, I cannot wait until I receive your mail to start my own transition. If anything I'm now absolutely certain that I've picked the right teacher to train me.

NGL I thought I was cis when I first started watching, even told myself I just wanted to be a more well-rounded voice actor (I still do), but I took a deeper look after realizing it was...exceptionally nice to hear my voice make so much progress after watching your vids. It took a fit of tears after hearing one of my better attempts to realize I was, in fact, not cis. So...Thank you? You somehow helped me with more obstacles than I knew I needed help with.

I love that you don't shy away from the time before your transition but actually fully accept it and show it as something natural. I'm also so shocked by the knowledge you have over how the voice works. I didn't know this existed. Been listening to your music for the last couple of weeks and it's a shame there's not more of it because I'm completely hooked. Much love.
I stopped watching your videos after the larynx video, because I started college (so I had less time) but also because my college's speech and hearing clinic is giving me voice therapy for free, and I figured it would be safer for me to follow what they say (not because your advice is bad, but because then I have supervision). I had no clue that you can change your voice so much and reach into passable without surgery. This is a little inspiring as a GNC man. Also I literally couldn’t stop saying out loud how pretty you are.
@@olive8604 gnc is the initials for gender non-conforming. It means people who appear, behave, speak, etc differently from what society thinks their gender should be. Damn, I don't understand half of the "technical" words you said, but I'm so impressed. The way transwomen are able to change their voices through hard work and dedication is incredible, and you are certainly the master of vocal feminization.
It's "trans women" with a space between.
@@MxPokirby okej
@@sagawennstig1140 The reason why there’s a space is because transgender is just an adjective that describes a specific group of women. When you combine the words into one word instead, it seems like you’re considering trans women something distinct from women
@@andreadamon2197 okej, I understand that. I'm Swedish, and I guess I used the Swedish spelling of the word without knowing it wasn't correct. No offence meant and I thank you for taking the time to explain :)
@@sagawennstig1140 You’re good. It’s a common mistake
Hey, I’m also detrans. May I ask if you had any success with voice training? Does your voice sound female now?
So my friend is transitioning MTF and I want to be as helpful as possible. So I've been watching every vid and I'm even practicing these vocal techniques as well so I can work with her and just be there to help out. I've known them for years. I love them like family and at first I guess I was utterly confused as to what they meant by transitioning. I'd even say I was against it at first. But I love them so much. I want to be supportive. So thank you for posting all the vids you do. This information is BEYOND useful.
Wow you're such a wonderful friend good luck💖
you are such an amazing person. just know we appreciate allies like you so much 💕
you're a beautiful friend 🥺💕
good luck!
not to echo the last 3 but this is like the best youtube comment ive ever read
This comment is extra special to me, seeing you're a doom fan. Good shit, king
Damn, both her voice before and after the transition are just so soothing and pleasant to listen to!
This is so good. That you understand acoustics is huge ... this is very helpful for clients ..thanks 🙏🏼
I have no clue why this was recommended for me but damn it's interesting how much your voice changed, a trans journey is something i'll never have to experience, but I wish you good luck on yours.
went from 'bruh' to 'hiiiiii!'
You are such an incredible human, my friend. I'm so happy to see how you've grown!
This is such a touching comment. Thanks so much. I'm blessed to have known you all these years. Sending good vibes to you as always.
random but “dysphoria is not rational” helps me a lot sndnsbs im not transfem im actually non-binary but your video is amazing I’m proud of you 🖤
same, gang! rock on and good luck with progress
Ram the Cowy thank youuu you too!! I’m just watching to learn more cuz my voice is pretty deep for an afab and i like it that way cuz i don’t feel dysphoric when i feel masc which is about 10% more than fem shdbsbs i appreciate it though 💘
@@seance444 it's okay! you don't have to have dysphoria to be valid or to even want to change, as I'm sure you know 💕 im amab (but only came out to myself recently lmao 👁️👄👁️) and have a deep-ish voice which I don't have any dysphoria over either, I just thought "well this might be fun, what if I try it and end up liking it? might as well!" anyway, keep at it non-binary pal ♥️

@@seance444 mtf here, this is the most wholesome interaction I've seen in months ♥️ keep rocking it both of you!!
I wish you the best of good luck with your transition 👍
I’m a lesbian and personally tall women own my ass. I’m sure you’re gorgeous
Hoping the best for you!! Coming from a trans guy :)
Best,
Jessica
@@itsjessicanow hello jessica, wishing the best for you! it's never too late to be yourself and it's definitely never too late to be happy. i know things will work out for you one way or another. hope you have a nice day and a nice life. :-)
It’s crazy to think that as a trans guy the only I have to do is go on hormones and then my voice will get deep and you girls have to go through all of this training. Sending love!
Yeah, it sucks ;w;
When you said basically nothing after 10 month, it felt like there was a big difference. Very fun to see the progress you've made. It's very inspiring!
I honestly just clicked to hear the initial contrast out of curiosity. Your critique of your own development was so captivating that I had to finish.
Congratulations on everything!
I feel like most people hate the sound of their own voice in general, but couple that with the dysphoria, that has to be really hard to deal with. I can't imagine the kind of work that goes into voice transition. Love the way to explain it in terms of acoustics, speech science, and music theory, definitely helped me understand a bit better.
thank you so much for the video, bookmarking it for when i need a reminder that it all takes time :)
her: *plays audio track*
me: wow that sounds good!
her: ahmmhmm that is not correct. Because according to the encyclopedia of splgdickurfuie
Ah yes, of course
You can tell what its supposed to be, but you're not too sure whats wrong
Maybe it's just me, but with her explanations I could kind of grasp the problems in the older voices. Not intellectually at all, but intuitively
Is it a vine reference, or what ?!)

I’ve always wondered how people altered their voice when they were MtF, as I know trans men tend to have their voice deepen by testosterone. This was a fascinating thing to listen to, and learn about! Thank you for sharing your journey
As a musician and vocalist I find this fascinating. I didnt know such a vast change was even possible. Awesome. Nice synth collection by the way!
... I am absolutely speechless. Like re-writing this for the 20th time, speechless.
I cannot express how brave I consider you for being able to do this. Moreover, I cannot wait until I receive your mail to start my own transition. If anything I'm now absolutely certain that I've picked the right teacher to train me.
This is honestly beautiful and amazing. As a cis female, I can't even imagine what the journey would be like to change one's voice so completely. I really enjoyed listening to you every step of the way
Thank you! This is such a touching comment!
Just started voice affirming therapy and was feeling discouraged because I didn't think it would be very effective. After hearing your voice and your experience, I feel motivated now! Thank you for sharing
This isn't magic - this is knowledge and hard work, which is even more impressive.
You're so talented, and so kind to share your journey to help others.
(also... so damn beautiful 🥺💐)
Thank you! 🥺 I really appreciate your message.
You somehow helped me with more obstacles than I knew I needed help with.
congrats on that!
I'm so happy for you! If you go for it all the way, know it will be a tough journey, but you absolutely *deserve* to find inner peace and comfort with who you truly are. Fight for that. Good luck to you, my friend.
I have to say, your voice has improved sooo much in the last year, mainly because you aren't overshooting anymore. It's honestly amazing. Thanks for being such an inspiration.
Thanks so much! This really means a lot.
Z... I just wanted to say thank you... luckily I started watching you at around 15, I saved myself from SO many mistakes, from your videos. I’m 16 now, for the past 3 months I have been super unmotivated, but now I’m getting back to it. You inspire me in so many ways Z... Love you Z 😭, your videos always help, and I keep rewatching. Hopefully when I’m 17/18 and I can do a lesson with you! Your work ethic is amazing, love you Z

This is absolutely fascinating from a technical standpoint. You clearly have a lot of passion for the fine details, and I love seeing how you were able to apply your knowledge to helping other people.
I cant believe this wasnt witchcraft! You dont even sound like the same person in 2015, you've come so far!!!!
I had no clue that you can change your voice so much and reach into passable without surgery.
This is a little inspiring as a GNC man. I may not be a trans woman but I have a lot of feminization in my appearance, talking, and behavior. My voice can make me a little uncomfortable from how deep it used to be. Currently I can have a semi-passable voice and I’m really trying to reach a tomboy-ish type of voice as I want to keep a fraction of my masculinity but still wanna have my femininity. Great video! Also I literally couldn’t stop saying out loud how pretty you are.
You work at gnc?
What is a GNC man? I tried googling but nothing relevant comes up.
@@olive8604 gnc is the initials for gender non-conforming. It means people who appear, behave, speak, etc differently from what society thinks their gender should be. An example would be a man with long hair, wearing makeup, and wearing a dress whereas society usually imagines a man would wear a suit, have short hair, and have more of a masculine look. I’m gnc and don’t conform to what society thinks I should look and act when it comes to my gender. I’m a man but I wear makeup, dresses, and a lot more typically feminine things! :) this term can be used for anyone that wishes to use it if they fit the definition.
@@taylor9683 Thank you! I actually did know what gender non-conforming meant but wasn't familiar with the abbreviation. :)
I recently came out as non-binary and I think I will start dressing more GNC as I transition!

To be honest, this is the same, except for Vegans and LGBT+ people in non-LGBT/Vegan videos.

Your voice is wonderful and it is fun to see the transition. It gives hope, and a realistic timeline, to those that are trying to change their voice.
Also, your masculine voice was not gross. Just different. Please don't shame yourself, you are, were, and always will be awesome. We also don't want those who still have a masculine voice or choose not to change it to feel that their voice is gross, or that you might feel that their voice is gross.
