I've been coming back to this video multiple times when thinking about what alts to level, idk how accurate any of it is, but you seem to know your stuff.
Thanks for the list and explanation of each spec. For those who think Vesperal doesn’t understand a class/spec, check out his videos. He has a video for each of them and his dps is insane with them all.
My main was a fire mage and then main alt a enhancement shaman. I’m not sure if I suck at the game after seeing this, but dps has always felt like a challenge
As someone who doesn’t know shit about wow retail anymore; I completely agree with everything you said. Mainly to disagree with the people raging in the comments claiming their specs are actually harder than you said they are lol
Always the case! Every class has range within it, where getting from 80% effectiveness to 95% effectiveness takes a lot of work. However, lots of people who main one class or two don't realize this is the case for all classes. The difference really comes in what is the easiest class to get you to that 80% effectiveness and in what content. Aug, for example, is notoriously easy to get to that 80% mark in M+, but you will pull out hairs trying to get there in raid. Meanwhile, something like Destro or Demo warlocks have you start at 80%. There's also the ego component. If you tell people that Demonology is piss easy, invested demonology players will take that as an insult, because they have spent the last 15 years one-tricking it and deal 5% more damage than you do.
Been a mage main forever and I always describe fire as a "chess" spec. Just like the game of chess, you can learn fire in about 10 minutes but you could spend the rest of the expansion trying to master it
For real, as an arcane main i tried switching to fire last dragonflight season, I thought it was easy but man, my damage was suffering so bad it takes A LOT to master
sunfury arcane is way way harder than any fire spec/variation in TWW, trust me, been playing the beta and the amount of tracking and dupping stuff was never like now.
I don't know about war within but in dragonflight i played all 3 mage specs and Fire was by far the easiest to play. Even easier than Frost. Especially when the stupid ignite build became meta in season 3.
Love how in depth you went here! I need to choose a new spec to play as Balance Druid is causing me cognitive overload. It doesn't flow naturally and this raid tier with its insane amount of mechanics/movement is making it hard for me. I felt the insane difference after doing heroic BRD on my outlaw rogue for the first time (had only doing heroic with my Druid before) and feeling such incredible peace 😅 heck even my ele shaman that I now do normal palace on felt so much better. And I've been struggling with that shaman since forever, so it was very satisfying 😂 Seeing the placement of dev evoker makes me excited though. Really love the idea of the race/class. Will definitely level that further!
Overall solid, good content. Watching this makes me realize that there are a ton of things that go into making something 'hard' or making something 'easy'. People are initially better or worse at managing movement restriction, dots, procs, speed of button presses etc that skews perception. Or just the amount of time playing- for instance I have played demo for so long I find it much easier than destro. Also, I find frost hard, but only because all of the buttons look the same and have similar names- frost, glacial, blah blah blah- I lose track of what does what and lost interest to learn hahaha.
i believe arcane after a missile , blasts then blasts(barrage) , that way the 2nd blast + barrage combo both benefit from the 2nd nether precision . its gets bonkers with sunfury when they benefit from nether precision + burden of powder stacked :D Great breakdown on all the specs btw !
Note, i'm not a ret or bm main. (I play fury because i like to ZUG-ZUG) but BM is harder than ret imo. With BM you have to have better target selection and what i mean by that on AOE you gotta select your targets on a way that your beast cleave hits the most targets. And as you know on pugs all the mobs tend not to be all grouped up nice. On ret, it didn't seem to matter at all you can just roll in and push your buttons and dps meter goes brrr...
I play Elemental Shaman. I suck at every other class and spec. The Tauren Shaman Moocy has never let me down. We've been buds for 15 some years off and on.
The rules are simple. Blast chain lightning. keep you fire dot on. Drop a lava totem and use earthquake/earth shock when it's ready. It's like 4 things in the rotation. Feeling like you're taking alot of aggro? Summon your earth elemental to tank for a you giving you a chance to get some space and set up again. I really feel like Elemental has good offensive, defensive, and healing capacity. I like playing that jack of all trades master of none
I main it as well and it is extremely well-rounded, but the button bloat is real. There are too many talents you need, situationally, that alter your rotation. It’s messy.
I started playing elemental in Legion, which was also my first proper expansion in WoW, so I never really understood button bloat till I started playing other classes I legit thought it was normal to have 50 places where I have spells, are bound to random keys or just SHIFT, CTRL or ALT combinations of numbers, where I have 6 of each of those btw I'm at the point, where I have almost everything bound (except buff spells) and started unbinding other stuff, like the spell book and character buttons, so I don't accidentally blind myself with the map when I'm trying to put down a tremor totem
so real, ele having in M+ 10~12 rotation buttons, 3 cc buttons, 4 defensive buttons and 4 utility buttons is insane. Then there are trinkets and consumables...
BM also has Master Handler now, which means you need to spread barbed shot dots in AoE to get maximum KC CDR. I think with that added the skill ceiling goes up a bit. BM is still one of the easiest specs, but there is a bit more depth then people see at first sight. I love it because the rotation, while simple, is quite good; and I don't always need to play 3D Chess. I mean I like playing some of the more difficult classes too, but sometimes a solid simple approach is more fun. People just like to hate on it because of the low skill floor.
It's the most forgiving because of its ability to never have to stop and Hardcast while being at range. Unless they change this or vastly make its rotation harder, BM will always win easiest to play.
See, this is a perfect example of what I've been saying. Even if a class is easy enough for children in clown school to play effectively, people one-tricking it will argue it actually has hidden depth that makes it difficult. Beast Mastery has been up there in top 3 easiest specs ever for the past 20 years and in the past 10 years there hasn't been an easier spec. Every class has talent interactions that add hidden depth to a class that get you 2% more DPS on patchwerk fights, but that is not what the classes being easy is about. There isn't a truly difficult class to learn at an intermediate level and every class has something you can do to better master it. That's the nature of the game, not just class design.
For example, although BM Hunter is strong, it is weak and easily destroyed on mythic keys, because it has no survivability. It's no coincidence that the meta has been the same on all keys for years (DH, Rog, Mage, Priest, WL). The warrior, dk and other characters are also strong, but above a certain level (and even with the key that gives the highest item level available) they only carry a meta ring, unfortunately... that's why the game is dead, because it's never balanced, not only the dmg be good, but also the survival skills
Nice explanation and also the short guides for the classes lol. Frost, balance, destro, ele and maybe thunder fury could be interesting to many classes again 😂 or my 2 worst skilled specs outlaw and fire mage could be a challenge
I mained a frost mage and alt a pally in every expansion since BC. I love the direction their going with frost mage but, I think they have to rework the numbers more. I raid with my guild and I'm always in 7th place. I could not figure out why so I turned to our raid leader for some help. He figured out that for some reason only flurry freezing raid bosses activates that crit bonus, nothing else does. It's the only way the numbers make sense to him. We aren't sure if this is deliberate or not. If it is, it puts frost near the bottom for DPS because it just lacks the punching power for ST capabilities against aid bosses.
Personally I like elemental the most. So many buttons to press, elementals here, lightnings and magma stuff flying all over the place, the little ancestors helping out. Fun times.
This list seems very accurate. I would only dissagree with outlaw. From my experience it is harder than DH, but I have no idea of their current situation in TWW. I'd love most fun specs tier list for TWW
Waaaay back during Firelands my buddy trained me in Shadow Priest. I think the basics still hold currently where to max your DPS, you have to build for primarily single or multi target. Honestly I’d rather have a beast single target and let my numbers fall on trash mobs and clean up
Shadow priest is definitely harder and maybe even one of the hardest with proper stats. It's very fast pace with a fast opener that can be hard to get down.
Arcane main here and tbh I'd rank the current arcane with hero talents as more difficult than DF arcane ever was. The rework added a fair bit of rng yo deal with and we double dip precision with blast now if certain requirements are met. SF Arcane is a nightmare of tracking, you full on need auras to track orbs or you'll never do well. I'd rank it a 9/10 tbh
I really don't like the new arcane playstyle with the queueing barrage after 2nd AB. It takes 2 1/2 gcds so uf a mechanic comes out you need to shield for you lose your nether precision and have to completely change your rotation when bouncing between a single clearcast proc
What RNG are you talking about? Orbs procs? not a big deal... CC procs? Missile providing random charges? That's all RNG sunfury got (until 4P) which affect (not so badly) your gameplay.
Seems accurate with some exceptions. 1) Frostdk clearly doesnt belong in the easiest tier. Its similar, if not even harder than unholy to play reasonably well. The dual ressource management coupled with those small and crucial 45s burst windows will punish even small mistakes and together with the positioning requirements it at least belongs well in the mid tier. 2) While Fury has a rather simple and linear gameplay loop its VERY apm intense, which can be challenging for new players. I'd say easier tier. 3) In direct comparison to BM and Boomkin Destrolock just doesnt belong in the same tier. BM is a 3 button spec with zero dps downtime during movement. And Boomkin? Self-Maintains its dots in AoE and starfall has the hitbox of an average football field. Getting a decent RoF uptime at least requires some skill in cursoring it properly and estimating tank positioning. Theres some degree of preparation in those Havoc windows and immolate being a cast makes positioning more important. Easier tier seems appropriate.
Arcane Mage is a lot harder now, than it used to be. I had to switch to Fire Mage for my main. Come on Blizz, make Arcane as easy and fun as Fire mage.
I think you were on to something about BM but then backed out too soon. Frost DK and Ret are so simple but nobody will put them in their place, whille BM gets constantly talked down to when its not so much simple anymore as just smooth. Straightforward spec but requires good execution to get the most of. Ret and Frost, yeah you just hit random buttons and basically you're good. Also I think you touched on it yourself that you're not the right guy to rank some specs. When you said you dont like the support aspect at all that was a sign you should have put the evoker in its own tier of "I cant rate it" lol. Curious to see your tanks and healers,
overal you made a pretty good list. I personally would disagree with your spriest/aff/ele rankings. I think ele is one of the easier specs in the game, fire or lightning builds. Its only easier in wwi. Aff and sp are hindered by lack of mobility and you will see many players lose dps because of having to move for mechanics. Good list though
I'm playing Ret and Enha. Yes, Ret is definitely an easier spec, but I don't find Enha that much harder :) People makes things harder because of "reasons"
Heads up, augs personal damage has spiked up now and generally can do rather well dps for itself. Mixed with Chrono-Wardens abilities making Upheaval hit like a truck and generally giving yourself a good time. You can continue to buff your friends with Pres while also slapping the absolute dawg out of your enemies. Chrono-Flame feels nice to smack people with it.
Putting Dev evoker in the easiest tier is kinda wild. The spec is absolutely harder than any of the lock specs. You have to manage your shattering star and Eternity surge damage buffs effectively and fire breath red damage buffs. Because if you don't you will lose between 20%-60% of your damage. You don't just pyre on multiple mobs, you hold pyre buffs for your dragon rage so all 3 cook off with 20 stacks. If Dragon Rage is not available then you just pop pyre at 20 stacks. You need to manage your bombardments effectively with a good scale commander able to get two mobs with bombard on them simultaneously for double the aoe and deep breath CD reduction. And most importantly you absolutely must manage your deep breath melt armor window effectively if you want to maximize your damage at the same time holding it for aoe stuns on the right pack of mobs. Some of these damage windows only lasting 4 seconds and in fights which force you to move a lot you will find it difficult to plant yourself for an empowered spell which is the cornerstone of your entire rotation. Add in that you have to hunt for higher Health Bars because of your mastery, you don't want your main target disintegrate to be a lower health mob. Not even worth mentioning flame shaper for Dev because Engulf simply doesn't flow well with the spec in the same way black arrow doesn't flow well with hunter.
Been a mage main for a long long time now, and I to this day (ever since TWW came out) say that IMO Frost is probably the hardest spec to play at the highest level right now. Fire is as you said, very simple to play, below 5 targets you are not even using any actual AOE rotation, above 5 you just do the same ol same ol stuff but instead of pyroblasts you spam flamestrikes, how cool is that. Arcane is also extremely simple, you have an opener that you just have to learn, deal with it, and then you have to track 3 passives, you can look at your buffs or create a weakaura for yourself to track the stacks you have and based on the buffs you cast barrage, its honestly very simple once you get the hang of it and you do yourself the justice of making a weakaura to just not even tell you what to do, just to say in a larger icon hey you have 2 stacks of 10% stackable buffs on your next barrage, its not like you can't see that anyways its just easier with a larger icon. Frost on the other hand is different, firstly you have a fuckton of procs, your AOE rotation starts at like 3 targets, be mindful that your cone has to hit the target and its a cone, I've sometimes missed those, shatter mechanics are generally speaking not that hard, but minmaxing the shattering for glacial + comet is where this becomes more complicated than the other 2 specs especially if you have the muscle memory of flurrying right after the glacial because remember, you can shatter a comet, and AOE and ST rotations are already different, but with this becomes even more different, don't much fingers of frost, keep your things on cooldown, don't munch ice lance procs, keep in mind of your comet, target count is also important, you do start AOE rotation in a 3 pack scenario but you would depending on talents still go for single target cleave rotation there still, then the shatter + comet, keep in mind you can munch the shatters by accidental ice lances, also frost nova, is actually a thing you can use to make the target frozen, not shattering, but still a damage bonus that is there, overall there is just a lot of buttons to press, and then you have the shifting power there which depending on talent as you said can be a CD in itself. Also if you look at the statistics, frost has the lowest minimum DPS from the 3 mage specs, indicating also that there is a lot more than what meets the eye and its not all that easy, oh just shatter your abilities and keep everything on cooldown, yeah I guess but it won't give you amazing results, and for the latter 2, the core of the character is much much simpler, in terms of what to press and when to press simply because there is just less buttons to press in general, especially for Fire, for that I legit use like 6 buttons, fireball, blast, phoenix, Combustion, shifting, meteor and I guess you can also add flamestrike and scorch but both are situational, and one of them might not even be necessary to use at all based on talent choices, and my point isn1t even the buttons you have to press its more of the mental stuff, about what you have to keep in mind, first and arcane is literally braindamaged, you do the same thing regardless of AOE or ST, and you basically only deal damage inside your burn/big CD or miniburn/SKB and the rotation doesn't really change there also, just keep that 2 buff in mind and you are good to go, frost is definitely a thing I feel like a lot of people downplay because it was for a very long time considered the easiest and people say oh its very easy because lot of procs oof and I feel like it doesn't get the respect it deserves. Also, I'll not play frost for this reason also, why would I shoot myself in the foot to have to constantly be on edge? Fire is said to be the hardest because you are on a really high APM, but realisticall you are pressing like 3 buttons on that maximum 17 second window where you have a high APM? lest call if 21, because you get SKB back from the 17second most optimal scenario during combustion itself so yeah. Frost is hard. Edit: Honestly, I'm open to debate this, I could be wrong, but it does feel like this a 100% for me.
As another fellow mage main, I do agree he underrated the complexity of frost. But I wouldn't say frost is harder than fire or arcane. I'm not as well versed in fire but for arcane, the difficulty is in part the rotation but you are right it is relatively static once you get used to it, altho it is pretty complex imo. The difficulty in arcane tho really comes from the lack of mobility (it has the most amount of hard casts of any of the mage specs) and the fact that you have to really plan ahead on when and how you will be using your cooldowns. For m+ you cannot afford to dump big cooldowns into small packs or you'll be wasting alot of damage and have nothing for the bigger packs, but you also need to still use your cds or you'll lose out on burst windows throughout the key and your dps will suffer. If you don't have an easy prio target or if the pack dies too fast, arcanes damage becomes terrible. For raid, you have to be intimately familiar with mechanics to plan when and where you'll be bursting, and playing around your arcane misses and barrage procs, not only for damage, but also as mobility tools to avoid mechanics. Knowing where to plant yourself to require the least degree of movement is a tremendous skill curve that neither fire nor frost have to worry about to the same degree. Boltslinger frost build does have a similar learning curve but not to the same extent given the only major cooldown you have to watch out for is icy veins. You also still have the optionn to use ice lances for movement, even if you so lose some damage by doing so, whereas arcane doesn't have the same degree of proc uptime that allows you to move as often as frost does. Just my 2 cents
I agree that FDK is very easy, but it's so annoying if you have a bad BoS and your DPS tanks to shit. I also hate the long ass CD of BoS. Ret has amazing 1 min CDs and is so fun to play and very forgiving.
Spellsling Arcane is easier, but Sunfury Arcane is much harder than fire. Arcane is overtuned and Fire is undertuned so obviously it is harder to do dmg on fire currently, but Arcane has more passives/procs to keep track of to max DPS compared to Fire. Also, nobody was saying Fire is that hard when it was OP at the start of beta.
"Add is definitely the hardest of the warlocks" *Aff main since 1.11 with thousand dot stare*: Heh, This iteration is THE BEST aff has been in almost a decade. And it's one of the easiest iterations as well. It's always funny to see non-Aff mains or people switch to Aff for flavor of the month and just get completely wrecked from the priority management. xD
I haven’t done a ton of research this expansion so I admit my comment comes from a lack of knowledge/depth. But I started leveling my enhancement shaman from 70 last night and I have zero idea what makes it “difficult”. I was absolutely smashing the Hallowfall elites like it was nothing. As a matter of fact, out of the 3 characters I’ve leveled so far (frost/unholy DK, frost mage, enhance shaman), my shaman appears to be by far the strongest at the same point. I know im not max level and I only got 1 hero point so far but, what am I missing?
The list looks good overall, but i'd move down both shaman spec a bit. Enhance difficulty is so overrated, and elem isnt hard at all. Outlaw is a 3 button spec, but the high apm and procs should be enough to be in harder tier, while sub should not be in hardest
Highly agreed. When I tried Enhance, I was surprised that it didn't feel difficult at all. It has quite a lot of buttons and procs. But pressing them doesn't really require much thought. Outlaw, on the other hand, feels a bit like Fire Mage where it's easy to make minor mistakes and you can be massively penalized for making mistakes.
i play 4 specs on title degree and a few more close to title level. all im gonna say is there is not a single spec that is even close to sub. if you think other way, you never tried playing sub on a good level
I play Arcane Mage because I've played a mage since 2005. Frost is easier to play, and I love Frost. That said, I love Spellslinger Arcane because I don't have to run into melee range and spam Arcane Explosion repeatedly.
It's interesting to see how others view the game. I've been playing Rogue since Vanilla, and personally, I find Subtlety to be one of the easiest specs in the game. But Fire or Arcane Mage? Absolutely unplayable for me-I always end up switching to Frost after a few attempts, even though I've studied the Fire rotation everywhere I can
I find sub the hardest and it’s the class I most wanna get into. I really don’t get how to use my damage modifiers properly, you have dance, blades and symbols, which one do I click first ??? So many things to track
@@raquayzapwnage haha press all😁 if u are not sure how to time it, just make a two macros “#showtooltip Shadow Dance /cast Shadow Dance /cast Symbols of Death /cast Shadow Blades” and second macro “#showtooltip Secret Techniku /cast Cold Blood /cast Secret Technique” then line up your dance with secret technique and u will be fine 😊 u can also add trinket use in the first macro
Enhancement really isnt hard imho. It has button bloat problem, but in the end it is a priority system where small "mistakes" make not much of a difference. You just have to get playing around tempest right and you're gucci. I know because I had no clue about enh and I got some pretty solid numbers in raid and m+. Also I would put Feral into easier or mid perhaps. The days when feral was hard are long gone, even when you play with swarm and bt it is pretty easy once you understand the core principles. But yeah, just my personal opinion I guess. :D What you need in both cases tho: A proper weakaura. Because sadly the blizz UI is dogsh*t.
It seems like you did some research on arcane, did some keys and testing to get kinda use to it, then rated it. I could be wrong but I would be surprised if you played it more than 4 hours. I agree with all the lock specs. Aff feels boring especially in raid with 60% of the time spamming shadow bolt. I agree with enh being the most difficult. Sub I feel isn't as hard as you say. The shadow dance windows is the only time I even sit up while playing it. BM hunter hardest too obviously
I mean, you can explain enhancement's rotation, but you still call it hard because of tracking. Yet, you can't even begin to explain arcane's rotation because it's so complex, especially as sunfury. I think the answer is right there. You can play arcane relatively easily (and be bad) but if you want to be good it's one of the hardest specs in the game. Anyone who doesn't agree go talk with Porom or Preheat.
Stormbringer isn't that easy if you wanna get big dps out of it. The instant chain lightning procs need to be tracked so you dont cast stormbringer on them which cancel each other out and tgere are instant chain lightning/lightning bolt procs which ypu need to track so you use tgem before casting tempest or tgey also overwrite and earth shock/earthquake also buff up to the next 2 chain lightning/lightning bolts so you also need to be careful to interchange them if u want to get more of your rotation, and elementals can also proc and you can use them as burst windows ... And more. I would say elemental deserved to be on top with hardest
Not clicking stormbringer when chain lightning is flashing is really not that hard lol. I play stormbringer and I think he's spot on that it would be in the easier/easiest. In M+ we are basically spamming one button a majority of the time.
interesting why say RET is so very easy to play and also one of the strongest dps classes in the game. Like Feral in comparison, 5x hard to play good and still wont perform as good. Its just silly. Sure people say that RET will be good because of tools, sure, but why do they have massive damage aswell?
Playing BM and doing absolutely crap DPS xD I try real hard to keep the frenzy and cleave up, but there's just so much that causes me to miss a second here and there and that brings me HARD
Im tired of people ranking devoker as the easiest like try play it at high level and do a perfect rotation while kiting rescueing your teamates, easy rotation doesnt mean easy class !
i play aug and i would not say its the hardest, but its far from easy, coas if you wanna keep Ebon Might up on people as much as possible you realy need to do it right, if you miss one cast then the buff will fall off and the dmg will drop, also keep the pressience on the correct targets in a raid can be tricky aswell.. but for dmg dealing its basicly just a spam Eruption and living flames,
Boomie is not that easy. You're very slow in getting your peak damage, if you take wrong position and mechanics force you to move - you lose a lot of dps. You also need to always tab the pack to keep uptime of debuffs. You said specs that maintain debuffs are always harder, but put Boomie to easiest
saw your SP , you dot the first mob then. next second every mob got the dot , how do you do that ? Any idea how to apply dot fast for all the mobs during m+?
Could you do a tier list on the easiest/hardest specs to master? I'm mostly interested in parsing 90%+ logs in raids. For example, Destro Lock is easy to get started, but I find it extremely hard to play really good on single target. You have to keep immolate up, you have to track your resource, generating at the right time, making sure you have enough ready for the next demon to come out with a chaos bolt. Using your procs on the rights spells ...
Your perspective on frost mage is very out of date. Very little of what you said has anything to do with Spellslinger frost, which is currently the only choice for frost considering frostfire is bugged.
Oh come on now, balance is easy yes, but MM is easier than balance. Balance belongs in the Easier tier, you have to worry about dots and a proc ... Balance is easy to play i agree, but its harder to master than MM
@@Ioannisg95 Fury as beated arms in S4 and IMO war is easier. War feel like your doing your PvE rotation and spam things that flash from proc without really thinking about it. This is the reason why I've played one and that I will play one in TWW for solo shuffle.
@@gahno76 Theres nothing to revive mate. They've been trying to ''revive'' fo some time now. Its too complex, rewards are not there, its a bad experience for average player and no one cares at the end of the day. There are far better pvp alternatives out there.
Good tier list bro. I like what you said about Affliction. I like Aff because it's rotation is linear and a lot less dynamic than a lot of other rotations. ((You can talent into things that make it more dynamic but in general it's pleasantly static and straightforward)) The difficulty comes from timing/reapplying DoTs and DoT management in general can be a pain. Once you got that down though you're chillin' like you said.
Actualy droppe boomie in easiest is mad 😂 seen so many boomies doing shit.. i mean boomie got easier compared to older expansions, but still difficult to master. Its not just about doing the damage and rotation, therefore i would rank it higher
Playing tons of Feral and Rogue, so for me it's very easy since I'm playing them since years. I also play Mage my only caster class that I play and I dont think Arcane and Fire mage are in the right row, in my opinion they should be in mid, frost is fine.
I would strongly disagree with a few of those. Lock main since 2004 (with aff being my fav specc). If you place on the same tier Demo and Aff you know something is wrong. You have forgotten to mention that you have to curse dangerous mobs every pack + since you are the slowest caster you need to pre plan the fight with gates/portals. When you play Aff in M+ keys every time you have to assess in the first packs the rest of the dpsers (regarding time to kill packs) in order to plan your cds with the future appropriate packs. Destros main difficulty is movement during fights. It's the most turrety specc where there is more min maxing of GCDs. I haven't played MM & Devastation on beta at all so can't comment there. Elemental is about 3 times easier than Aff (both hero talents). Frost mage is brain dead - deffo top "easiest". Anyway this is my opinion obviously.
I’m getting into lock and I agree with what you’re saying I was surprised aff was where it is. I do think that Fire being the hardest ranged spec and not even being in the hardest tier is a little shameful for the ranged folks. Fire mages are super easy to fuck up though and I believe deserve to be where they are. I haven’t played ele but I’m excited to try it, I didn’t know it was as hard as he claims.
destro has the easiest caster rotation in the game. Because of that, you can literally spend all your time focusing on improving movement and boss fight mechanics. Thats why it gets the rep it does. I've heard numerous people over the years cite this as the braindead caster of choice. Frost is easy, but it actually does typically have some combos you have to dedicate at least some focus toward. You can literally play destro rotation clicking.
I’m too damn old now to do anything besides the easiest spec. I used to be obsessed with playing the best dps, change mains for the guild, & sweat hard as hell. But older I get, I Prio the most relaxing time possible above all else

@@GeorgMaUlWurf i wasnt talking to the OP?
the fact you can play all of these specs and explain their rotations is super impressive
this is the fun part: learning and discovering.
as a frostmage main i can tell you he has no clue what he's talking about, a lot of misinformation
Lmao don’t worry about them brother, they’re just mad I said their main was easy
If you tell people that Demonology is piss easy, invested demonology players will take that as an insult, because they have spent the last 15 years one-tricking it and deal 5% more damage than you do.
how can you agree if you dont know shit, as you said. i dont understand

Yep i learned that the hardway. I still feel like i only get 75percent of potential damage lol
Frost is the easiest then fire then arcane.
This is the only correct answer.
sunfury arcane is way way harder than any fire spec/variation in TWW, trust me, been playing the beta and the amount of tracking and dupping stuff was never like now.
I don't know about war within but in dragonflight i played all 3 mage specs and Fire was by far the easiest to play. Even easier than Frost. Especially when the stupid ignite build became meta in season 3.
Quite helpful vid! Thanks, Vesperal. Returning to the game after a few years away so this info is useful.
And I've been struggling with that shaman since forever, so it was very satisfying 😂
Seeing the placement of dev evoker makes me excited though. Really love the idea of the race/class. Will definitely level that further!
That's a lot of work, thank you ❤
Great content man. Always a good moment watching your vids. keep em coming!! :)
Love your content man, keep it up! 😊
Nice overview Vesp, good work :)
if Balance is on the easier tier, it must have completely changed because it used to be the hardest caster spec in the game
i believe arcane after a missile , blasts then blasts(barrage) , that way the 2nd blast + barrage combo both benefit from the 2nd nether precision . its gets bonkers with sunfury when they benefit from nether precision + burden of powder stacked :D Great breakdown on all the specs btw !
yes it works like frost in that regard, but you have to make sure you have either orb or clear casting proc so you can get your charges back quick
I think BM has the advantage because it's ranged therefore easier to deal with mechanics.
It’s messy.
I started playing elemental in Legion, which was also my first proper expansion in WoW, so I never really understood button bloat till I started playing other classes
I legit thought it was normal to have 50 places where I have spells, are bound to random keys or just SHIFT, CTRL or ALT combinations of numbers, where I have 6 of each of those btw
I'm at the point, where I have almost everything bound (except buff spells) and started unbinding other stuff, like the spell book and character buttons, so I don't accidentally blind myself with the map when I'm trying to put down a tremor totem
so real, ele having in M+ 10~12 rotation buttons, 3 cc buttons, 4 defensive buttons and 4 utility buttons is insane.
/tar
/cast barbed shot
ez mode
Every class has nuance. BM has the least. It is by far and away the easiest class in the game to play and be effective.
Frost being harder to play than balance seems insane
Yeah, that's crazy. Balance is at least at the middle of the pack in terms of complexity
@@dmitriystelmakh8086 Balance is a borderline one button spec right now. How is that in the middle in terms of complexity?

Nice list, of course all this is subjective but it's nice to get an idea of where the specs rank in terms of ease with hero talents.
Awesome list, I play Fire Mage. Btw, what's the name of the song that starts at 31:20? Sounds really cool to play along.
For reference I've played arcane at a high level off and on since ICC and SF Arcane is probably the most difficult I've ever found the class to be.
Especially SF
I really don't like the new arcane playstyle with the queueing barrage after 2nd AB.
It takes 2 1/2 gcds so uf a mechanic comes out you need to shield for you lose your nether precision and have to completely change your rotation when bouncing between a single clearcast proc
What RNG are you talking about? Orbs procs? not a big deal... CC procs? Missile providing random charges? That's all RNG sunfury got (until 4P) which affect (not so badly) your gameplay.
Did you raid with Arcane during WoTLK?
What is the plater you use as shown in the demo warlock clips?
Arcane Mage is a lot harder now, than it used to be. I had to switch to Fire Mage for my main. Come on Blizz, make Arcane as easy and fun as Fire mage.
the only reason you find elemental shaman hard is because you make it hard for yourself
Torn between Frost DK and Windwalker. Leaning toward windwalker but I remember that class being such a pain to survive with in harder content lol
Open world swap to brew, 95% of the damage but your danger is the entire room vs a ninja pull with ww
Uh anyone else notice this is footage from SL NW? That Necromancer pack in front of amarth doesn't exist anymore. Fun fact.
I'm playing Ret and Enha. Yes, Ret is definitely an easier spec, but I don't find Enha that much harder :) People makes things harder because of "reasons"

Right?? "BM is so broken right now they're bottom tier!" Leave me and my hyena children alone we been livin our best life since like 2010 😒
Heads up, augs personal damage has spiked up now and generally can do rather well dps for itself. Mixed with Chrono-Wardens abilities making Upheaval hit like a truck and generally giving yourself a good time. You can continue to buff your friends with Pres while also slapping the absolute dawg out of your enemies. Chrono-Flame feels nice to smack people with it.
As a BM hunter, I find this sad :( Never knew it was the easiest spec.
Why does it make you sad? Easiest doesn't mean weakest
I don't get how fire and frost, basically the same type of spec, have that variance in difficulty.
Tl;dr: BM, destro, devastation, balance, MM, aug, frost, demo, shadow, affli, ele, arcane, fire
Mvp
I agree that FDK is very easy, but it's so annoying if you have a bad BoS and your DPS tanks to shit. I also hate the long ass CD of BoS. Ret has amazing 1 min CDs and is so fun to play and very forgiving.
Thanks for the tier list :) even though I don’t get how you find Demo easier than Arcane but alright
"Add is definitely the hardest of the warlocks"

Hei man, can you put out content for Throne and Liberty when it comes out?
I play Arcane Mage because I've played a mage since 2005. Frost is easier to play, and I love Frost. That said, I love Spellslinger Arcane because I don't have to run into melee range and spam Arcane Explosion repeatedly.
Can u share what addon do you use ?
It's interesting to see how others view the game. I've been playing Rogue since Vanilla, and personally, I find Subtlety to be one of the easiest specs in the game. But Fire or Arcane Mage? Absolutely unplayable for me-I always end up switching to Frost after a few attempts, even though I've studied the Fire rotation everywhere I can

What you need in both cases tho: A proper weakaura. Because sadly the blizz UI is dogsh*t.
Playing mm now and yeah sure its not that bad of a rotation but you still have to swap talents between every boss and have a different playstyle
I doubt anybody can play all 13 classes in every spec well enough to have a perfect tier list so this seems okay i guess.
In M+ we are basically spamming one button a majority of the time.
whats the addon that scrolls the rotation on the bottom right?
Lmaoing at people saying their ez specs are “hard” because they added a basic as fuck mechanic to increase dps by 0.5% 😂👌
interesting why say RET is so very easy to play and also one of the strongest dps classes in the game. Like Feral in comparison, 5x hard to play good and still wont perform as good. Its just silly. Sure people say that RET will be good because of tools, sure, but why do they have massive damage aswell?
What's causing incinerate to hit all your targets in the dungeon video? Looks like more than just havoc
Fire and Brimstone. Old talent returns
Ret is the most braindead spec in the game. Healing, bubble, no rotation, just spam shit on Your Keyboard…that’s why I main It
Playing BM and doing absolutely crap DPS xD I try real hard to keep the frenzy and cleave up, but there's just so much that causes me to miss a second here and there and that brings me HARD
Im tired of people ranking devoker as the easiest like try play it at high level and do a perfect rotation while kiting rescueing your teamates, easy rotation doesnt mean easy class !
Ele shammy is easy to hard…skill wise it is easy. Prioritisation of skills is a bit hard here so would put it mid pack on the hard section due to CD.
Feral is piss easy, idk how anyone thinks it hard. Not a single one of these tierlists I can find seem reasonable. Popular =/= easiest
i play aug and i would not say its the hardest, but its far from easy, coas if you wanna keep Ebon Might up on people as much as possible you realy need to do it right, if you miss one cast then the buff will fall off and the dmg will drop, also keep the pressience on the correct targets in a raid can be tricky aswell.. but for dmg dealing its basicly just a spam Eruption and living flames,
Boomie is not that easy.

I think You’re thinking about shadow crash spell
Could you do a tier list on the easiest/hardest specs to master? I'm mostly interested in parsing 90%+ logs in raids.
For example, Destro Lock is easy to get started, but I find it extremely hard to play really good on single target. You have to keep immolate up, you have to track your resource, generating at the right time, making sure you have enough ready for the next demon to come out with a chaos bolt. Using your procs on the rights spells ...
yeah, boomkin is way harder than that. it should be around where afflic is.
Yeah, especialy when he's explanation of how to use eclipse was teribad.
Balance is easy to play i agree, but its harder to master than MM
would you say fury or ret is easier in arena for a new player?
ret
If you want to play pvp go ret paladin and arms warrior.Fury is more a PVE spec.
@@Ioannisg95 Fury as beated arms in S4 and IMO war is easier. War feel like your doing your PvE rotation and spam things that flash from proc without really thinking about it. This is the reason why I've played one and that I will play one in TWW for solo shuffle.
Pvp is dead in wow, you should play something like dota or lol or cs if you want pvp
@@gahno76 Theres nothing to revive mate. They've been trying to ''revive'' fo some time now. I've seen the sure and steady decline in wow pvp over past 6 year to the point where it is now, dead and buried. Vast majority of wow players dont dabble in pvp what so ever and with good reason. Its too complex, rewards are not there, its a bad experience for average player and no one cares at the end of the day. There are far better pvp alternatives out there.
This list must have changed recently. I dont see Fury warrior as the hardest spec...
Appreciate it bro!
Ret and Frost being easier than MM is a joke lmao. Havoc hard? It really isn't ngl
Do you have melee ? i can't find video
Actualy droppe boomie in easiest is mad 😂 seen so many boomies doing shit.. i mean boomie got easier compared to older expansions, but still difficult to master. Its not just about doing the damage and rotation, therefore i would rank it higher
I know that i am noob but i find Augmentation pretty complicated
Dev does not feel right aug feel right
Arcane mage is no where near hard….frost is deceivingly more difficult than it appears.
Playing tons of Feral and Rogue, so for me it's very easy since I'm playing them since years. I also play Mage my only caster class that I play and I dont think Arcane and Fire mage are in the right row, in my opinion they should be in mid, frost is fine.
It may be experience but I find Ele very easy, though to be fair been playing it since MoP and I find Aff the hardest range.
Okay but ret can also do their abilities on the move too.
Yea, this seems way off for Warlock, esp in a season that looks to be riddled with forced heavy movement.
destro has the easiest caster rotation in the game.
Arcane is imo harder than Fire. Fire is not that hard once you got it in your fingers. @@jaketanner2454
While you might be right, ain't no one in low keys worrying about cursing dangerous mobs lol
