I bought this Hi Gear camp bed for rough ground areas where a hammock won't work. I already have a large TF-Gear fisherman's bed but I wanted something a bit smaller and lighter.

Hi Karl. I've still got a couple of these from before we got the campervan. I always found them comfortable, and they've lasted really well with no signs of wear or anything. For the price, I think they're hard to beat👍

I've literally just bought an identical bed, but it's the halfords version, they must come out of the same factory 😄 tested it out today with a sim on top, it feels really strong and well Made. for £30 I snapped it up.

Really decent and very happy with this bed so long as you have a self inflated mat (SIM) and full size single not a half one ! very impressed as not a fan of air beds :) 8/10

Great review Karl. I never did fancy one of these but im really impressed by how stable and sturdy they look. Unfortunately when i checked Go Outdoors and Amazon - there both out of stoke. I'll try again in a couple of days.

It is indeed very sturdy. I've got an awesome fisherman's bed, but it's huge and heavy. This is a great lighter weight, smaller alternative and it sets up and disassembles so easily :D

It is... but it does benefit from an additional mat. I've tried a couple now. The Tomight and the ExPed - so far the ExPed wins! The camp video with that is coming this Friday :)

I've seen one/two man tents which incorporate this style of bed and I think it's a good idea, but my goodness that one is heavy.

It weighs about 7kg! I don't know how strong you are, but I wouldn't want to be backpacking with it 😳😁
