I am going home after 50yrs away in the south of Scotland. My husband died, and I no longer am attached to this place, so I AM GOING HOME to the WEST HIGHLANDS and OBAN! Thankyou Runrig for all the music, and the confidence to pack up and come home........................old Tich.
Amen 🙏 God Bless You I've lived in England for 52 of my 59 years...I've wanted to go Hame since I came here. 😅 But my family are mostly here now. 🏴💙🦢💙🏴
I've now been told I have only a few months to live and this song will be the last of several I'll have played at my funeral. I had a very successful career in the Merchant Navy, meeting some fantastic people, from Princes to Presidents. I've visited unbelievable countries and experienced cultures around the World, so the sea is where I feel at peace. Although I'm terribly sad to be leaving this wonderful life and my loved ones behind, I feel I've led a good and full life, producing 2 children 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandaughter and I am content with all that I've achieved. My ashes wilI be scattered at sea, so I already know I'll be going home for the very last time.
Thanks for sharing this hard news. My prayers go out to you and I don't even know if you're still with us. Either rest in peace now or when you move on from this life to the next.
I'm not Scottish (although my great grandfather was) but I always feel at home there. I haven't been he last two years and my heart yearns for the smell and the sound and the sights - I'll be back this year if it kills me. Thank you Runrig.
When I found them (through the Hebridean Allstars ) I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry ! I must have been hiding under a rock down here in Norfolk! But… the lovely Colin McLeod is performing out there - go to see him if you can he’s brilliant!! 😀
Runrig are Scotland and all this wonderful country stands for their music is remarkable and their legacy will live forever thank you Runrig so many memories in over 30 years following them
Fortunate to have discovered them as a support band in the 80s and have followed them ever since. Truly the best and most down to earth band ever. Thankyou so much for all the great music and memories. 😊
Heard both Donnie and Bruce singing this. Being a Scot in exile both made me homesick and, I have shed a tear or two.Thank you guys I remember who I am god bless
Love this song....particularly poignant as I head back to Bonnie Scotland after spending 5 years working in New York. April feels like the summers coming in, and the moonlight on the river shows me where I've been. Going Home :-) yep I'm going hame......
I was so shocked when i heard of his passing, it was so sudden I thought it was fake news at first until i saw it on mainstream news channels. I feel a piece of me died that day, i was a big Runrig fan and I'm so very sad that the world has lost such a talented and really nice man. R.I.P Bruce you really have now "Gone Home."
Saw Runrig 21 times over the years with the last gig being their last dance. It makes me sad but also happy to have been part of it in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Oban, Balloch, Stirling, Portree, and everywhere else. Gonna miss you guys
God bless you lads, i've had the prillevigde of seeing live twice but have got the CD's and it feels as if i'm there anyway. Love it +++, enjoy your stand down (retirement) and i'll raise a glass........😎 God bless you all ✌ Dominic

New Runrig fans..three years AFTER they disbanded. So sad to got to know them too late, they are the best band for sure
Lucky you get to catch up on 45 years of excellence.
Yeah, you sure missed one hell of a band and with Bruce Guthros passing they'll never perform together again, so sad

With Bruce's tragic passing much too early this song takes on even more meaning.
