In this Tutorial I show you how to create a exploded architectural diagram using revit and adobe Illustrator.

Do you have a tutorial on how you made the city? Are all the other context buildings generic masses? I didnt realize you could build out so much context in Revit!!

How do you get this "sketch up-y" effect on Revit? Looks super cool! As a person who knows how to work on revit much better than with Sketch Up, but does love the 3D drawing-ish effect, I'm super interested!

Isn't there a way to export a vectorial 2d graphic from revit? Guess i'll have to import it into sketchup and export from there so i won't have to trace over a bitmap image every time i want a new image.

Yes, it possible, the workflow is a bit different though (since Archicad and Revit work with a different mindset). You would combine Graphical Overrides, 3D documents and you would do a bit of post production on the Layout with lines and a few cropped drawings. You don't need to use illustrator.
Thank you! Just one question: You did move everything away from their original location in the model, which changed the model. Is there a way to do this diagram without actually changing the model? (e.g. move the components in viewport only)

is there a faster way to get the surrounding enviroment than building it all manually?
CAD Mapper may be worth looking into! Infraworks (separate Autodesk product) has some good options to quickly get building context to get a rough idea of the surrounding vicinity. Might still have to verify the immediate surrounding buildings for height and shape to ensure line of sight studies.

Do you have a video on how you massed the slopped roof with floors?
If you create an in-place mass and model levels you can generate floors automatically trimmed to the shape of your mass. In this tutorial he used an in-place component which is why he had to manually trim the floor boundaries. It's pretty easy in the massing environment to Tab in until you select an edge of your extruded form. From there you can move or scale the edge to get a similar tapered effect. Hope that helps!

Dear Balkan architect,
I am working on a project and I was having trouble with the visibility of my links and I thought maybe you can help me out. It would really mean the world. Here is the problem to troubleshoot - I am working with Rvt 2020, and have linked a structural (UC,UB system) into my Architectural project file. I can see the loaded link in my Floor plan view but I cannot see it in my 3D view. Can you please help?
I realize this is an old comment, but were you able to troubleshoot and find a solution? Generally I always start with ensuring links are loaded, worksets are visible, categories are showing, then check design options and phase settings, finally check view-specific settings like if someone accidentally hid element in view. Usually EH (Hide Element in View) is a last resort to clean up visibility/graphics on a view. Hope that helps!
