Im thankful everyday for my grandma being the only grandma on the block that blasted rock n roll from morning to night, while others either jammed to Tejano/Mexicano.., so glad to be raised in Texas and I'm proud to be an American.
I got see and meet Eddie. He was a young man then and what really stood out was how much he loved his family, how much he admired his band mates and how much he truly appreciated everyone of his fans. He will always be a first class frontman.
Soundmanfh Here’s my take on your comment- I saw Eddie in concert in the 80s, so yeah he was still young, and this chick up against the stage grabbed his crotch a couple times. My friend and I are thinking “he’ll bring her backstage “, but on the song break he starts talking to her thru the mic saying “I’m a married man, you can’t do that stuff “ Class act guy- great songs and entertainer.
Many called Eddie "pop rock". Here in Cleveland he was considered a rocker. He even played in the World Series of Rock here. We loved him, and will always miss him! RIP !
That's because just like Detroit, people in Cleveland don't need to put on a dog & pony show. They ain't afraid of who they are, because they know they rock!🤘
I'd say he was arena rock, kinda on the fence between hard rock and pop rock, nothing wrong with that. (Same with bands like Loverboy, Survivor and Night Ranger)

I'll always respect Eddie Money for showing some Latino culture in this video way back in 1982. We had common sense. I worry about this generation when they become our age.
@@batvette lost my Mother in 1999. She was 67 years and 3 days young. It was so quick...damn cancer! I am 65 now and the closer I get to her age, the more I realize how much life she had left. @Chakra #5 Thank god?? Oh because its much better now right.. Tell that to "Who run the world (girls)"
They can make it - if they only will!
They can make it - if they only will...
Yes!! Music now is filthy mouthed and trash!!
Eddie money is so underrated
Saw him in concert at the LA coliseum.....amazing.....
Tired of all my heroes dying of Cancer
RIP Eddie. Your songs bring back so many memories. I grew up listening to you. I know you're singing with the angels Eddie.
saw eddie 2nd row he opened for Santana. What a performer!!!
Rip Eddie money!
Grew up with his music too, bought one of his 45s
❤
Holy fuck I didn't know he died
RIP Eddie!.....you had a great band here....great lead guitarist
He.was.so.true
Great band.... Great drummer 💗🤘😊.
For me a few years out of college, Eddie was the sound. Indeed he did not get the recognition he so much deserved. Rest in peace brother. You made your mark, those who were there know it.
Bruce Barnes….. he sure did. Won’t be forgotten. Just gone too damn soon.😥😟
He was an amazing guy. RIP Eddie. Thank you for the music 🎶 ❤️
Totally 💯 agree.
He made a living, was respected by colleagues...that is quite a lot
Oh come on. Everyone loved Eddie back then.
❤

Here’s my take on your comment-
I saw Eddie in concert in the 80s, so yeah he was still young, and this chick up against the stage grabbed his crotch a couple times. My friend and I are thinking “he’ll bring her backstage “, but on the song break he starts talking to her thru the mic saying “I’m a married man, you can’t do that stuff “ Class act guy- great songs and entertainer.
I sat next to him on a flight from Nashville to Houston once after seeing him in concert the night before. I totally agree. Very nice guy.
I saw him too in a nightclub. So great!!! And loud
Many called Eddie "pop rock". Here in Cleveland he was considered a rocker. He even played in the World Series of Rock here. We loved him, and will always miss him! RIP !
People are ridiculous. If you didn't die at 27 with a needle in your arm you were pop music. They can kiss it.
@@xennial80sxberner Rock on CLEVELAND!
Who else is going through their favorite jams thinking about life back in the days? Please tell me I'm not the only one🖐🏼✌🏼️

👍👍 Me, I’m reminiscing about the awesome 80s.
Listening at 4 am!
Back when Joe Biden was fighting fer Scranton

Eddie Money From The Police Academy ... To A Great Singer With Great Music
The music was so cool back then, Eddie made it even better. It hit me hard when we lost Tom Petty, now we've lost another icon. RIP Eddie Money 💔
Me too, but it really just completely devastated me about Chris Cornell, George Michael, and Michael Jackson.
@@chrissimpson6701 When I heard about Michael Jackson, I collapsed against the wall in tears, it was like losing a family member. George Michael's passing devastated me too, such a great talent. I didn't know who Chris Cornell was but I heard he was also very talented.
@@chrissimpson6701 All of them and Prince especially hit me the hardest. Man, all those artists are so talented and the 80s was the best. Thank them all for the music!
@@beverlygarner1583 You will find out about him when you come to my FB page. It's called Chris Cornell Fanclub. He was my favorite Rockstar.
@John Nichols Come join my club John. CHRIS CORNELL FANCLUB.
RIP Eddie Money. This song was far more potent than its Hot 100 chart position at the time.
RIP Eddie. This is your Best song. You ruled the 80s!!
Probably better than most all songs ahead of it. A true classic.
Absolutely. Eddie has his place with all the other great songs of the 80s. We lived on this in 83.
This was incredible to 12 year-old me. (and STILL rocks!) RIP
I just realized I was 11 when I started "Shakin" to this song! Always been my fav.
Very.kind.like.you🙏
I grew up listening to this stuff on the radio having grown up through the 70s and 80s. The 80s man will tell you probably the best decade, ever. The music was fantastic
This song 🎵 takes me back to my youth when I was young and free and just doing whatever I wanted. Ty Eddie Money for your awesome music 🎶 🎵. RIP,Eddie you are truly missed ❤️ ♥️ 💖 💕
I can't believe he's been gone that long. Turning 65 in February 25, life is going by full throttle now like I have a jet pack on.
Rest in peace Eddie. Your songs bring back so many good memories of days gone by!!
Yes it does! 🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶📻📺📼

😂😂😂😂
👍
I saw Rodney when he made that face!
Great music never goes out of style
Here ,Here
Yes it does, unfortunately. I dont hear anyone talking about Eddie Money for example :/
RIP Eddie. Aesthetic of video is coke personified in the early 80s
@@Dinosaur761 Unfortunately, dubstep---which takes *zero* talent or work to make---is what is mainstream
Those who know how to actually play instruments--like me--are becoming more and more obsolete unfortunately.
I met him in a bar in the 90s. He was just there to chill and drink. No one bothered him much and he hung out all night it was incredible!!
Rest in peace man. I wasnt born in your era but even i feel the awesome-ness of your music. 🤘
Yes u were
@@mrweed3844 i know, its worded a bit weird, like in saying i wasnt born when he was alive, but i meant it as i wasnt born during the height of his relevancy of his musical career.
*peace but sweet sentiment
That should read "peace"...
@@PomegranateStaindGrn thanks, for some reason, i didnt see that. 😂
R.I.P Eddie Money you are missed brother
Eddie Moneys music was a big part of my childhood, R.I.P.
Eddie seemed like a guy that just lived his life to the fullest. I would have loved to pick his brain and just have a conversation with him. Seems like a great guy. Rest in peace brother I wish I had became a fan sooner. Thank you for writing great music we won't forget you
No thanks ant ho new york
He drank way way too much unfortunately
Rest in Peace Eddie.. Met you in Arkansas several years ago, as down to earth as you like them to be.
One of the greatest songs ever. R.I.P. Eddie…. Thank you for this f**king awesome tune!
I still miss him so much. Rest Easy Eddie. This song fills me with adrenaline. 🔥💋

RIP Eddie, you were the music of my youth. Loved seeing you every year opening at Pine Knob.
💔 🎶 🙏
Best Memorial Weekend opener ever!
Detroit icon for those opening show 28 yrs
He always played there
Seen him 4 times at DTE. Always a great show and great time.
I'll always respect Eddie Money for showing some Latino culture in this video way back in 1982. I'm sure this was the first or one of the first videos on MTV to ever feature low-riders, and the producers were smart enough to have Apollonia as the actress in the video. I will always love this song, the video, and Eddie Money. His music lives on. R.I.P.
Miss the pre internet times where music was good and people actually interacted with each other. Hanging out at the mall, cruising all night in our cars.
Hell yes ... sadly those days are gone never to return 😢
And Psycho Trucker's comment was made BEFORE social distancing and social isolation were instituted because of the Made in China virus.
We are becoming robots, no interaction, just computers and cell phones all damn day ! Wish it was 1978 so i can hear me some Eddie Money, Boston, Kansas, Huey Lewis and attend a baseball game with my dad for $4.50 for box seats !
Ahh yes, back when they called this M TV ! THOSE WERE SOME TIMES weren't they.
U dont see the irony that u r using the internet and youtube to get your message across? Lol
There will never be another decade like the 80's when it comes to music.
FACT. brilliant music never to be again
yes
I believe the 70's was the best era for all kinds of music, great musicians and bands. Thank goodness we can listen and watch these great artists😊.
@kathychrysler7097 70s 80s and 90s the best decades of music.
He. had. good. music. in. the. late. 70, s. too
It's such a damn shame that we all get old, sick, and die. My generation, the late 60's, 70's, 80's...we had the best looking clothes, gorgeous cool guys, cool cars, and the best rock music ever! RIP Eddie Money 😢
We had our short dance on this earth, got to move on so others have theirs. Im 57, will I make 67? 77? My mom passed away 2 weeks ago at 92, still not accepting shes gone.
@D Larson we also had guts...we weren't shrinking violets...we didn't fall apart because things didn't go our way...our candidate for president lost so we couldn't take our exams, we aren't so self absorbed that we don't know what was going on in the world, we had no school shootings, we didn't eat tide pods, tattoo our eyes purple. We had common sense. I worry about this generation when they become our age.
@@batvette lost my Mother in 1999. She was 67 years and 3 days young. It was so quick...damn cancer! I am 65 now and the closer I get to her age, the more I realize how much life she had left. Your mother lived to be 92, odds are in your favor that you will also. Even though it's been nearly 20 years since I lost my Mother, it still hurts as bad today as it did that day. Time does not heal all wounds. Just live each day to the fullest, enjoy your family, do the things you love to do. I truly believe that I will see my sweet Mother again. We always had more than a mother-daughter relationship. She was my best friend also. ❤
Also had hot girls too
@@inmyhouse11 well...I didn't notice the girls except for their clothes...straight as an arrow...lover of men
Best way I can explain the difference between the two is Perry poured his heart and soul into the songs he co wrote and performed. Arnel is just singing, he sings his heart out but its different.
Rest in peace, Eddie. You will always be a LEGEND.
This guy was so ahead of his time. Nobody was appreciating Latin culture at the time ,
When ever I listen to Eddie Money so do the neighbors.
Lol!!! 👏
@John Doe 0:25...... they actually throw rocks through the window so they can listen better.
Are they hot?
Out grilling and rockin eddie
