    The thing is company’s “morals” seems to align with trends (sustainability is trending now more than inclusivity) so it’s hard for consumers to believe their intent is truly genuine. All the pledges these businesses made during Covid and BLM movement are already forgotten.

    From a PR perspective it would have made more sense to announce the partnership, and show Kourtney sourcing the pieces, going through supply chain to show recycled materials etc and then dropping the collection at NYFW. I don’t think any part of this is sincere because, what does Kourtney actually know about sustainable fashion, sourcing materials, supply chain logistics etc lol. AND the most sustainable option would have been not to release the collection at all, just announce the partnership and provide updates regarding changes.

    Considering Kourtney uses over 200x her water allotment for the year, per month, while California is going through a drought, and uses private jets for 10-minute flights they both shoulda just sat there and ate their food because we may be many things but stupid isn't one of them

    I never bought from Boohoo, but it says a LOT that Boohoo is rated WORSE than H & M and ASOS on sustainability/eco-friendliness. Those two companies are notorious for causing all manner of waste that harms the planet, enough so where they both get mentioned every time people speak on the lack of sustainability in Fashion. To be worse than them, then claim they are going green, really is peak greenwashing and kind of insulting.

    Idk, if she really cared about being sustainable, why not try to boost brands that are actually sustainable?

      She wanted it to be accessible because most sustainable brands are still hella expensive. You’ll be buying one or two items a year unless you got it like that. I’m glad kourtney thought of this because I doubt BooHoo would have done this themselves. H&M didn’t change over night, it’s taken years and people were very critical of them as well. Now most of their items are sustainable. I say let’s give it some time. If a celebrity believes in something now and wants to change then I’m here for it. Who knows maybe she is working to be the next Jessica Alba

    Kourtney is going to make plenty of money from this colab and sustainable is just like a buzz word. Just like when clean beauty became a trend there was only a few brands that were considered kind of boring. But now Clean Beauty is the buzz word

    Would be nice if these fast fashion brands could setup a complementary pickup service where they took old clothes from their customers, recycled that and made new clothes from said material. But I guess it takes too much effort and money to do that and no coporation would care for that.

    Hello everyone: I can't believe these companies are changing their ways until I see it. So I don't believe em at all. Kourtney's fake she preaches about how she's eco-friendly, eating healthy & all that. But she's collaborating with a company that can care less about the environment. This was a surprise. I remember that old KUWTK episode where Kim lost her diamond earrings in the water ( supposedly). Kourtney's says " Kim ppl are dying give a rest. " I also feel like Kourtney's doing this for attention. It just feels so strange to me. And surprising, cuz Kourtney seems like she's not the drama type of person. Like she rather stay away from it or doesn't wanna be apart of it. It's kinda odd how the person who doesn't get talked about the most & is all for friendly, healthy eating & natural environment does this..!!

    The release absolutely could’ve been handled better, and I also think it raises numerous red flags across the board, but I really have a huge problem with the fact that they chose Kourtney to be the one to partner with on this. Their family is quite well known for over consumption and obscene excess. She may be the “best” and most environmentally friendly of the bunch, but there’s nothing she could do to make up for the negative impact her family has had through the years. From private jets to constantly going over the LA water usage limits each year, it’s insane, and I would NEVER look to a Kardashian for a single thing when it comes to being sustainable or even just becoming more environmentally friendly. It’s literally like an oxymoron.

  • @jazzmyn5804
    @jazzmyn5804 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I guess one could say Kourtney tries to live life consciously, I'm not sure about environmentally friendly. My biggest thing is where's her expertise in sustainability? But I guess it's more of a marketing move than anything. Her name and the announcement bring attention to the fact that boohoo is trying to (or portraying that they're trying to) be more sustainable because it's easier to do that than setting tangible goals and metrics toward sustainability

  • @crystalpowell8619
    @crystalpowell8619 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think there could’ve been a campaign that says “hey, just like my family is known for things that people don’t like, this brand has been known to be fast fashion, but we’re trying to change we’re trying to do better”. That could’ve really worked, as she is the one who you would most believe tries to do better.

  • @kivonshe
    @kivonshe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Literally as you were talking I was thinking the rollout should’ve been more strategic. 1. Drop the announcement n the excitement “we’re making bold moves more to come” etc 2. Launch a campaign that speaks to making clothing made of recycled materials, tease a couple pieces 3. Announce that she will be the Sustainability Ambassador through the use of the info from the previous rollout tease

    It is very likely that a company decides to keep a similar business model, but changes something. LOTS of businesses in the past 10 years have been GRADUALLY adjusting their practices to reduce a carbon footprint. It doesn’t happen overnight and they don’t have to explain anything to you, but they SHOULD.

    • @Shanygne
      @Shanygne  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      … actually yes they do? Like what? 🥴 A company trying to appeal to a consumer to get their money needs to explain what’s so appealing that they need to give them their money. That’s like saying a company that claims to be for plus size women doesn’t need to explain how their clothing/business model is actually for plus size women. That’s the point if a company having a PR department.
