It's very endearing, but also very interesting! Imagine that kid sees the video of their dad playing that hot, cool new game that's coming out in a few months! That would be the most personal bit of footage of the game they'd ever see! It would stick in their mind, whenever they think about Super Mario 64, they will think about that blueish snow course, Chroma Tundra. So imagine how confused they would be if, when they got the game, they played through it, and found no trace of that snow level. They'd play a desert level instead, they might even recognize some of the landmarks, but they'd still feel robbed of that level, since the new one has such a different feel to it. I really love these kinds of videos about the iceberg. They're actually believable to some degree instead of everyone just focusing on the "spooky Wario head". And while I do also like the more connected lore that Season 1 went for, these kinds of videos, just like the Beta Archive channel, are also just really fun to watch.
This is Literally Authentic, Really Cool and Extra Nostalgic. The level also fully functions and doesn't crash anywhere in the video. The way you did the video makes it one of the very best episodes on your channel. All I can say is, Amazing job Greenio! Let's hope you can make that map public eventually like you did with your floor 4 map. (Take your time)

So in Season 1, we got a hint about what’s going on with Jim and saw the odd things the AI can do and now in Season 2 we’re getting a real look into what was going on during development, hearing about the things that Jim was doing How interesting
OK so last time, the SM64 was showcased at SpaceWorld 95 as a playable demo, In this video, it seems to be a bit more developed in a sense that it's near completion but not fully done yet. Alongside that there's a mentioning of some guy who went missing and some sort of seizure too... I think that has to do with this game's development, but that's my own theory.

Given how the pipe at the end was on top of the tower, I'm guessing that the level area is suppose to be some sort hard area for players if they want to reach the top of the tower quicker.
I much prefer these alternate universe-type beta videos over the creepypasta stuff. It not only gives us a chance to look at some neat what-ifs, but it also makes it really fun to look at the attention to detail these hacks have.

That's...odd. You see, I and multiple other people can testify the existence of this level in the final game, however it is completely different. It is a very tricky platforming level with narrow bridges and few resting platforms. It also has ice physics, heavy wind, and a gimmick like drowning underwater where your health meter will slowly drain. I remember one star myself, the third Koopa the Quick star. It was hard, I'll say that much. There are also reports of a Chroma Tundra Dungeon, a little Toad girl who you have to escort, some sort of Ice Hat, and an Ice Golem Boss. The final tracks for the Tundra and Dungeon can be found on TH-cam.
Jim is a recurring character. he must be important to the lore. he sent the scripts in for the adverts. Bill is also in the subtitles you can see his name.
Can we also talk about how the coin counter stays at 40 after Mario dies, that meant there was likely not going to be a 100 coin star, meaning there would be way more levels potentially to get to the 120 stars.
If Shifting Sand Land was instead a snow level, It would be called Plowing Snow Land. And if Tick Tock Clock was a Fortress level, It would be called Koopa's Fortress.
