  • 🤷This Swipe Went in a COMPLETELY Different Direction - Acrylic Pour Painting "Night and Day"🤷
Acrylic Pour 153 - Night and Day
This one was a struggle, BUT some of my best paintings come from a real struggle. I REALLY like this one. I don't know if y'all will like this painting as much as I do. Sometimes I am shocked at the paintings that get the largest response from you guys. In the end, this work has the look of a simple swipe but with a purposefully interrupted 'horizon' which adds a lot of interest and a nice place for the viewers' eye to take a rest. I like the contrast and the shimmer which you see in the final shots. It dried to perfection.
Acrylic painting on 15" x 30" x 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas by Courtney Hoelscher. It is available for purchase for $450 (doesn't include shipping). Private message me through social media links below, if interested.
Fluid Art, large acrylic pour painting.
This is a great demo of acrylic pouring for beginners. Check out my shoestring budget acrylic pour painting video for beginners also.
    What do you think?

Thank you, Jules. I do unfortunately, (full disclosure and TMI) suffer from depression off and on all my life. It has hit me this winter for the first time in years.

Once again I loved that you took us through the process and frustration of going too far. I have a terrible time with STOP! I love this finished painting and am a huge fan of the "swipe queen". Someday I'm coming back as your "swipe" clone. The second painting has a cityscape feel that I am always drawn to. Great work teach. You are pleasure to follow.

I liked it first swipe, but after reswipe I really like the end result. You are my inspiration. I only do swipe painting now. Can't wait to see how my canvas turns out. Thank you for getting me into swiping. Might try the tilt next time.

I love IT. !!! And yes you are definitely the Queen of swipes AND the Queen of voice overs !!! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to you chat & tell us your thoughts throughout the process especially with us seeing it at a different angle than you it can be like looking at 2 different paintings sometimes..just like when they are dry and you flip them deciding which way you like it best. (Hope that made sense. Lol). And I love your colors they never get boring and each one looks different & beautiful in its own way with the different "noodling" you add to each one ...and that "buttery veil " look is amazing over the blue. You just keep being YOU girl !!! Thanks for sharing !! 😘😘😘😘😘😜😜😜😜😜😜

@@CourtneyHoelscher thank you ...I was actually going to apologize for always "babbling" too much in my comments but I just love & appreciate how much thought you put into each painting.... you are a true inspiration to so many so thank you for all that you do & your time & effort you put into each video to help us become better skilled . I hope your students understand & appreciate how lucky they are to have a teacher like you !! 😘😘😘😘😘😘

It’s stunning!! Very mysterious...I feel like I see an eye in the bottom area of the top left corner or quadrant if you will. It’s almost like it poses the question of, is it there or is it my mind playing a trick on me. Again, this is just beautiful as always!!

Love this piece, Courtney! As others have said, it is your signature art. While noodling has its place, I love the embellishment-free beauty of what you create. Your voiceovers are perfect in the way you share your process. Bravo!

Pop Quiz...thanks for not telling them I cheated. Ha! I do believe as I grow I fail to stop on paintings. I understand totally looking back at a vid and saying wow... boy did you mess up by not seeing that pour properly as it was. You did recover well on this painting. There was much to examine and explore on it with the sections. It worked and it's different in a fab way. Bottom right.....my favorite part.

LOL, Doug.Yes, we all benefit from looking back on our videos, as athletes benefit from looking back at game footage. When I went for my National Board Certification as a teacher I was required to video myself teaching multiple lessons and the write an analysis and reflection on my own performance. It was painful but very helpful.

Yes, I do love it! Courtney when you said you fix your sides before viewing, what do you do to it, since it’s dry?

    • @CourtneyHoelscher
      @CourtneyHoelscher  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

A lot of times, if I don't like the way the paint flows over, I do a flat solid color along the sides. Or, sometimes I add the same color that is flowing over to the bare canvas where it didn't flow well. It just depends, I guess.

Hi Courtney I Love..Love..Love this painting and the depth to the blue after it dried.I love the fact that your experimenting with your already beautiful swipes. As far as the purple painting I like the cityscape look it has.All your art has expression when I look at it. And also loved the Kenny Rogers reference to know when to stop😁
    👍👌👏🤜🎨
