    Just looking into Xwing in 2023. Thanks for this video. I'm glad there is some content online for it.

      @@OutofArcGaming I just picked up the 2E core set this week as something to jam with my dad when I come home for the holidays, just shelled out for a few more Empire/Rebel minis. What happened to the game? Has it died off in popularity or support?

      Its in a weord place. AMG released Shatterpoint and a lot of their focus is their but the game is still going strong and there are still players. Alot of players are practicing for world's next year.

    I picked up X-Wing in 2018 and only played against my high school-aged brother. While I haven't played in quite some time, I still love the game, and prefer siding with the villains, just as my brother always sides with the Rebels. One of my favorite games was when he briefly disabled my Imperial Raider, causing it to crash into asteroids for 2 or 3 turns, severely damaging it. I love this game, and hope it maintains its community.

      Hey, the community is one of the reasons we love this game. We also can't wait for the epic ships to get the 2.5 treatment as they are so m7ch fun to use.

    Loving watching this. I've made a sharp dive back into the game since the announcment...finding the new point system interesting! These video's are super concise so thank you! Though i think my Empire collection is now on lock - would love to know your ideal casual collection, for games with freinds.

    • @OutofArcGaming

      Thank you. we are excited to try the new points and freedom to run any ship now.
      For a casual collection, I would always go rule of cool. If there are ships you like the look of, definitely grab them, possibly a couple of them.
      Faction wise, it's hard to say, but the iconic ships in each would be a must for me if I am only doing a small collection.
      The 2 starter sets are a great place to get some good ships and you get everything you need to play, dice, rulers etc.

    Just ordered a Tie Advance yesterday. Hyped to finally have it. Gonna focus on both the Empire and the Rebels as those two are my favorite warring factions... scum however is very enticing too... this game is dangerously addictive and your videos are amazing :D happy to watch as many as I can.

      Yes this game is addictive, that why I am on 179 ships with only the squid and Heralds of hope missing from my collection.
      Don't worry we'll keep the videos coming.

    Looking to get into x wing in 2024. Just got the imperial raider as a display piece and i love it. Hopefully they make it actually legal soon because id love to run it but ill just have to use it illegaly with local players for now lol.

      Amazing, our Raider is in display on our desk. There are rules for huge ships available and Yasb 2.0 has unofficial points for it in 2.5 that seem fairly on point.

    As neat as some things were with 2.0,the drastic changes of quality of packaging and the point system change compared to 1.0 far outweighed it.
    Slap on the still high price tag just to have it in SEA,and you really can't have 2.0 over 1.0.
    At least making 2.0 backwards compatible with 1.0 whilst adding the fun features of 2.0 to 1.0 is possible.

    • @OutofArcGaming
      @OutofArcGaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean first edition versus second edition or 2.0 to 2.5?
      We were a big fan of the change to 2.0 as it made for a more balanced play style whilst making more ships viable and a wider meta. Plus less tlts.
      We will admit that the change over of some of the older ships to 2.0 for newer players has been slow/non existent, the conversion kits on the whole were well done.

    • @NareshSinghOctagon
      @NareshSinghOctagon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OutofArcGaming ,I mean the first edition,I barely even know what's happening anymore ever since FFG transfered control over to Atomic,and loosing the well made plus easily found articles in the process.
      Balanced playstyle is neat,but having to force people to use their phones when you could barely get people to actually concentrate on the game instead of their Goddamn Twitter feeds and the like ain't helping,whilst quick build cars outright remove the ability to customize your loadout.
      Hence why,if I even get a chance to do so,I would just do that previously mentioned backwards compatibility to ensure what the game had before still remains.

    • @OutofArcGaming
      @OutofArcGaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We agree FFG we're better with articles and general management of the game.
      We don't tend to look at our phone much when playing, other than to check how many points a particular ship is, still not cemented in our heads yet.
      They won't make the game backwards compatible as that is not an efficient model and would require extra resource spent on it, the same as any tabletop game.
      The best way to try and make new ships backwards compatible would be to get the 2.0 points and halve them, rounding up.

    • @NareshSinghOctagon
      @NareshSinghOctagon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OutofArcGaming ,and that what I mean by making it backwards compatible,me myself getting the points written down and transferring most over into slightly more 1.0 style.
      Again,under the assumption that I somehow magically get those expensive sets here in SEA.

    How can Pure Sabacc shoot 6 dice? I thought his max was 5, 3 flat +1 from his bonus and the bonus from being at less than 1.

      Slight bad maths on our part however if you can line it up with trick shot there is the 6th dice.

    This game looked like loads of fun, but I'm finding myself struggling with the copious amount of upgrade card management, squad building, and actually playing the game. The edges of the table are covered with cards, and I'm having to constantly refer to each of them 4 or 5 times per round in order to see which cards enhance/override/cancel other cards. Matches are supposed to take 30 to 45 minutes, but I'm having to bail out after SIX HOURS with no winner. There's just too much for one person to keep track of, and I haven't even had a chance to look at the solo rules PDF, which I'm kind of expecting to add another couple of hours of complicated table-reading to each match. The Fly Casual game isn't that much help either, because a lot of the upgrade cards' effects happen off-screen. I love Star Wars, I love board games, I love turn based strategy, and I also love deck building, but it feels like I'm playing each of those things concurrently on a crowded table with a 20 page rulebook that covers nothing and an 80 page PDF file that covers too much.

    • @OutofArcGaming
      @OutofArcGaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That doesn't sound good. I would suggest taking less upgrade cards or having ships run similair builds, this may help with keeping track of their abilities.
      If your games are taking up to 6 hours what size matches are you playing? We normally manage 2 games in a 4 hours session and that includes set up, packing away and stopping to get a drink.
