Aiden just wanted to play Super Smash Bros Melee. That genuine passion led to his friendships with @ludwig , Slime, & Nick - which today's become Aiden's life as he joins them on @TheYardPodcast and helps Ludwig with events and merch at Mogul Moves.
How did this all happen? Join us for a 2 hour in depth look into Aiden's story on the @trykarat podcast.

Aimen is genuinely one of my favourite people ever. From his influence in the Seattle melee scene, to his MKWii videos, to the Yard Podcast, to him being a Bi-King. Everything about him just screams amazing person to be around, thank you for everything you’ve done for us (:
And Aimen gamin
Liking him because he’s gay is just weird
bro i read Bi-King and now i want to eat those bbq king burgers at burger king, whatever theyre called
liking aiden and being a csh listener is definitely common overlap
@@wizardsmix7961 ure a weirdo cuz you don't get what he means by that, stay mad straggot
You can not deny that Aimen, is gamin.
aimen is cringe
@@mambo5431D:
@@DrNaCl but he is most definitely also gamin a bit
The body that doesn't quit
@@Mirtualit’s even easier to not judge people
aimen is getting a lotta love and he deserves it but id also like to shout out the host for not only setting up a pod with a fan favourite but also let him talk and dive deeper into topics he would never do during the show
Thank you 🥹 and yea Aimen’s a special guy so was grateful to do this w him
because of the dynamic of the yard we really never get to hear aiden get deep in the trenches of his specialty and im happy this podcast gave that intimate opportunity to delve into it
I know Aiden gets clowned on a lot on the yard for seemingly making friends with every random person he meets who’s from a different country, but honestly hearing him talk about the community aspect of smash and being able to go abroad and meet these smashers who are so friendly and welcoming, I think I get it now. Aiden is NOT cringe
Exactly. he’s truly a friendly and genuine guy
its nice to hear Aimen not get interrupted every few minutes lol
THIS
You mean laughed at
Aiden deserves this spotlight as he puts an insane amount of work into their projects. The boys rag on him but you know they all recognize the amount of passion and talent he has. Pure gamer
aiden is actually so real it's crazy how many profound life concepts that I experience he can so accurately put into words, it makes me feel so seen
it's so good to see how in the past, aimen was worried that he would get hate for doing solo interviews and now looking at the comments he's getting all the love he deserves
I love Aiden. I know it is a joke vibe on the podcast when they dunk on him for being a social butterfly, but I could see myself accidentally bumping into him in a cafe and just talking for hours. Then Slime would charge the mound and kill me. But, totally worth it.
Also Aiden's moment where he broke down in tears on the podcast... that really got to me and I was like damn this guy is real and cool.
Aiden is such a loveable guy, what an inspiration
so true kaeya
hearing aiden is no longer doing events is insane
Came here for Aiden and am just blown away but how this podcast went. I don’t usually want to interject myself into even the comment section, but I’ve been really struggling with a lot of themes discussed throughout this from friendships to not letting success define or dictate you if you want something else. Really loved the interview and thoughts from both sides being so candid about everything
Aimen Gamin being the slick social lubricant that The Yard boys always say he is. Loved the conversation, felt like listening in on a conversation between two close friends.
I really appreciate the setting for the conversation, the nice back yard, the CRT with the Melee how to play video idling on the table, it's artfully done
Thank you!! Yea I tried hard haha
this was spectacular. aimens ability to grapple with an idea and articulate it in a way which others can empathize with is really impressive
I like listening to Aiden, he has such a nice way of speaking. I understand why he always seems to have stories of striking up conversation with strangers.
This felt extremely organic. Kudos to you guys
Aimen is so well spoken. I really enjoyed the insight and genuine conversation.
i like how you prompted questions naturally and the flow of the whole interview of aiden, you did awesome and love seeing aiden talk about his back ground and origin in the scene!
When he explains how the old local melee groups were its so true . I got into the game around this time. When I traveled I'd join the local groups wherever I was and met a lot of people. People would feed you, give you a place to stay etc. Its a nice feeling knowing that such a community exists all over the world that you can tap into. I'm proud of Aiden, Ludwig, slime and the rest of the crew for their success and coming from our community. I feel like a proud grandma 😭
Yea- we were OG. Melee has grown alongside us - and back in the day it was a place where you could go anywhere and find someone to host and play. My earliest friendships across childhood and high school and college were all from melee
Loved this interview. Not joking, this interview actually gave me the initiative to finally go to my first Smash local (been lurking the smash community for years though). I had such a blast and now I'm playing smash more than ever. Great community, great vibes.
Wow. This was a really good podcast and i really enjoyed how you both meshed really well 👍
I appreciate it! Aiden’s one of the most genuine people I’ve met
@@trykarat Also, you must have taken public speaking classes because i feel like you are very very well spoken and take the time into what you’re gonna say
@@khaotica6203 I did! Growing up I was super awkward shy and introverted (I mean, I still am tbh but I've found ways to manage it). So I wanted to get better and practiced speaking a ton - thanks for noticing ☺
Aiden is an inspiration, his positive attitude and persistence is something that really inspires me to keep pushing with my passions!
Dude this guy seduces people with kindness and just being so genuine
what a nice spot for an interview
love aiden
great vid
sirk saw
man... aimen really shines when not backed into a corner huh... what a great guy
Shine
i love Aiden, vibes on peak + the nails are sylish.
also generally interesting to listen to.
This was really great, I'll definitely have to check out other episodes
Long time Aiden lover here, crazy to hear Aiden stepping away from tournaments at MM, very happy that he is still going to be running merch. The show brings everyone so much joy. From you guys to the guests to the people you encourage to make other content like Fear& to the shillionaires Maybe it's the energy you guys radiate that makes it easy to synchronize with but i never want the podcast to end, Yard forever mayn
You can tell Eric is a former consultant (in a good way), he breaks down the questions and situations like a case study interview pro lol. It makes the interview so clear and thorough and helps guide everything in a super logical and thoughtful way
I’m exposed haha 😉
i've always liked and respected aimen which is why i say his name every time I pray
Aiden is so real for this
on the yard aiden gets a bunch of playful shade thrown towards him but i really enjoy his personality and realness (in a parasocially acceptable way lmao). this video rocks and thank you for taking him on as a spectacle :-)
Of course!! I wanted to give Aiden a spotlight for himself ☺️
amon is so effortlessly cool
Genuinely such a great insight into Aimen. The host is so awkward yet super fun to watch, I gotta dive into more of this content
Thank you haha trying my best
@@trykaratnah king you were goated as a host. think you had a great dynamic with aiden being attentive and chiming in naturally
thank you for more aimen
Thank you for watching 🙏
Damn, did not expect such quality from this video but good job. I loved how the interview/pod just suddenly turned into a game session and I had to stop whatever I was doing to quickly look at melee xD
This is beautifully made, editing on point. Questions on point. And i felt like i could really connect with this
Congrats to a great and apparently very well-performing video. I love how much space you give your interviewees and only intercept when it makes sense. Your setup is great, audio and video is super solid and the end product of that and your very nice conversation style makes for a lovely video. Keep it up!
this guy is an amazing interviewer!!! huge props
thank you!!! I'm grateful I get to do this and have convos with my friends and share them with you
this was a great convo and a great video in general!! huge fan of the yard so hearing aiden get his space to speak on how is life truly is was a great time! definitely gonna get me to look into Karat more, keep it up!
“No no I wasn’t drinking!” “No slime, I didn’t rail coke with hex” “I swear” “I WAS SIXTEEN!!”
the only thing that tops his talent and drive is his personality, he seems so genuine and down to earth.
this was such a good podcast/interview. perfect balance of letting aiden speak and share his thoughts, but also contributing to make it a really interesting and natural conversation. love how similarly you guys seem to think about things
goated pod, saw the share on the subreddit but found it on my homepage, great stuff! aimen is electric
We love Aimen Gaimen
aiden is such a grounded and real guy!! loved this solo interview and hearing his story. met him at edc and he was so chill and kind! great work hosting, eric!
loved getting to know aiden better this was a great interview :)
he is so incredibly well spoken and so easy to empathize with. love aimen and melee forever
In the space if everything being so extra nowadays, people like Aiden and the yard bois are Great to listen to
Aimen gets to talk?! Count me in brother
Incredible interviewer. Really let aiden shine.
Finally someone gets the opportunity to talk to Aimen about his gamin
love aiden on this, hes always great on the yard and was probably the best member to pick for something like this, brings a very positive energy to the conversation and is always funny. Aiden is king
I see Aiden, I click
I just love aiden because i can realte to him so much, he also was a huge part of me coming out as a bisexual.
This is why aiden is mother
Can't believe Aimen gamin is featuring in another podcast
aiden and the whole yard is awesome
This guy should have his own advice show...
Its so nice when the host knows so much about his guest and his actual background. dont always see that i feel like. nice vid
This is a really pleasant surprise
I just gained 1000x respect for jaz after learning he did slippi in fucking assembly 😭 mad respect to my guy how are your fingers still active o7
I love Aiden in The Yard, but it was awesome actually getting to know him more.
Love Aiden wanna see more of him!
Such a different light to see Aiden in. Often a scapegoat or punching bag on the yard, and he handles that well. But this paints him the light he really deserves. Great video!
Subscribed! super cool episode, excited to see more
This was a very interesting and informative video, commenting in hopes the algorithm picks this up for more people
This has been so enjoyable
Hearing him mention places I visit all the time in BC and Washington is always so weird but awesome. Nobody EVER brings up local stuff around here online outside of maybe Vancouver or Seattle.
Such a real guy. Loved hearing more about him!
Loved the editing on this one!
sharing with our editors - they're grateful for your feedback!
Love Aimen can Not wait to watch this so glad it came up in my algo
love this vid - aiden is a legend
best episode so far
this guy is possibly one the best listeners in the world
Awesome podcast 👍
Some other shows put all their energy into securing guests and coasting off of their popularity whereas this was a great conversation where I learned a lot about someone I admire. Keep it up
thank you! yea every time I get to chat with a guest I try to spend a lot of time really understanding them and what they care about
well done, this will blow up for sure
Nice profile picture
Love seeing aimen gamen branch out and us getting to see him outside of the yard
I love to see Aimen gapping these influencers in views while not wanting to be an "influencer"
i think most of the viewers here haven't watched the karat podcast before, but it's hilarious that the actual podcast questions started 1 hour in 🤣
Thank you for being an OG subscriber 🫶
Lovely conversation, made me wanna have a long conversation with a friend 👍
Much love Aiden! Proud of the man you have become. Was great knowing you back in the MKW days and seeing how far you've come from our Skype calls and clan wars 😂
appreciate that Kyle :)
I didn't think I'd resonate as much with Aiden as I do having primarily known him from the yard but this whole episode is inspiring~ also @1:45:15 is something I've only put into words recently in therapy and to hear two people talk about having the same style of processing is sick haha :)
I'm so happy to hear that! Also I'm honored you listened so deep into the podcast - 1 hour and 45 min in is intense
I didn't think I would to be honest but I'm transitioning away from a traditional corporate job to enter the creator/ entrepreneurial space myself and identify with you Aiden in more ways than I thought! It was just sweet to hear such authentic love he and you have for your people and that's one of the main things that's been scaring me away from pushing myself in this direction! Thank you :)@@trykarat
Keep up the good work! Thumbnail was putting me off on the video but after a while of YT recommending it, I finally watched it
Thanks! Can I ask what feedback you’d give re the thumbnail to improve it?
This was excellent
great episode, would be great to see Nick on as well
Nothing but the best for our goon commander
God he’s just so goated I ❤ aimen gamin
i love watching podcasts like these and seeing how normal people that arent hopelessly addicted to drugs spend their time
love aimen gaming
I want more of this side of Aimen
this is great aiden & isnt cringe at all.
He is so awesome
Emerald City CC was mentioned!
I don't know why the intro saying "We help creators like Ludwig with their finances" at the start of an interview with Aiden makes me laugh so much. Aimen's dope tho, love u bro
🔥
Hey I haven’t watched the whole thing yet but respect to you karat for shining the spotlight on just a dude that I otherwise wouldn’t have looked into. Also, I wish you luck Aiden in a healthily para-social manner. I appreciate both your podcasts now.
shoutouts to melee for bringing such an amazing group together 💜
melee forever
